Gain structure...why the blinking red lights are bad!
dapimp replied to SourceRaver's topic in Beginner DJ Tips & Tricks
yea what i said is based on playing in a club. but like u said they probably 'balanced' the system for it. also i was watching a video for pioneer mixers, i think it was the djm1000. they were saying they made it sound better in the red to accomodate for djs playing in the red coz that seems to be the trend. for all u know pioneer might have just changed the color of the led lol -
TEMPTING!! but im in melbourne

nice write up source raver. however for certain genre of music like hardstyle and some hard trance, i reckon it sounds better when playing in 1 red on the djm800. same goes for the volume as well. i guess sometimes u want the "loud" sound in a club, and quite alot of DJs then to play in the red as well. of course this only applies for playing live. i can see it being better for loud banging music. i do still believe that yellow or below red would be much better for recording purposes. -

infekted at inflation night club every friday fortnight. in melbourne near the corner of flinders lane and king st
-
thats for making CDs and reselling it. playing in a club is different.

yea auto loop doesnt work perfectly when it comes to beatmatching/transitions in terms of getting bars wrong, i play trance/hard trance and hardstyle. so the last 1 min 20 secs or so and the first 55 secs of new song is usually pretty basic beats so its kinda full proof in most cases. not so sure about house n rnb tho
-
spent weeks locked up in my room learning to beatmatch not to mention the mrs nagging as well. other than that mostly youtube.
-
yeah not going. playing at infekted down here on melbourne on the friday after

no alot of guest djs at kandy tend to stuff up mixing coz they have their monitors at some weird place so.. your saying that they dont have a computer because you have been there whilst a dj has stuffed up? And you belive they all stuffed up due to the moniters being in a weird place? Hard Kandy does not have a permanant venue, so placement of monitors would vary from venue to venue? meh i dunno... i was referring to "a computer for perfect mixing". what is that suppose to mean? lol if it means virtual dj or something like that then i can tell u most of the djs at kandy do it live
-
yea not exactly the best recording lol

going for $500. got it about 12 months ago, was using it for about 8 months. perfect condition. selling coz i got a DJM800 yo!!! if ur thinking of playing in clubs and dont wanna fork out big $$ for a djm800 this is a very good alternative. similar lay out to the 800, and the FX are good unlike some cheaper mixers where the FX doesnt sound together with the music. (if u tried the fx on a behringer djx700 u will know what i mean) call me on 0431 151 608 for any queries.

Should I get the DDM4000 or the DJM-400 mixer?
dapimp replied to Jaytee's topic in Mixers & Controllers
HIJACK!!! i got a DJM 400 for sale!!! well if u do plan to play in clubs down the road id go the djm-400. most clubs use pioneer DJMs anyway and u will be more familiar with it. plus for home use u prob only need 2 channels. behringer is not known for its mixers while i havent used the ddm b4, im guessing pioneers would have much better sound quality. -
so is there actually anyone in australia who has a residency in a club and use only/most pc to dj?? most of the hardstyle/hardtrance clubs ive played/seen in melbourne use cds n vinyl.
-
just go up there and play wateva u want. as long as the crowds enjoying it. this is the mix that got me into heat 4 http://www.sendspace.com/file/xmu1by

Jjust read the email and it says bring ur own needle etc... they r gonna have cdjs yea?? lol

i find audacity 1.2 has waaaay better recording sound quality than the 1.3 versions
-
bringing u the harder sounds of melbourne
-
i play hard trance/hardstyle. but the demo i sent in was more of a tech trance one. i think thats why im playing early and the music gets harder as the night progress??
-
i have no idea chev. im from melbourne and i sent in my mix just to see if it gets tru lol!! btw what is the unipacker room like?
-
i dont know if its my cdj 800 but when i loop the beats go off when beat matching. i could get the timing spot on but once i loop it it runs off
-
thanks caleupe btw got into heat 4!!! anybody else got in?
