  1. Yeah that's what I'm going to do once I get a few DJ's to help out first. The club actually got free hire and stuff because they advertised them alot. Does anyone wanna hold monthly / fortnightly dj lessons? I need a few dj's to hold classes (possibly in lecture theatres with your hands projected onto the big screen). If I get good enough by half a years time I could hold a class too, but that means lots of practice. Hopefully we earn enough money to buy one or two CDJ 2000s, and a certain amount of CDJ 400s and other gear for the club if we are lucky.
  2. I'm currently in contact with one of the past presidents of the club, trying to get more info. They had over 500 members at one point. Somehow it died out. We might also hit up local businesses and clubs for discounts - 5% off drinks or records could be a good thing to offer prospective members. Maybe get sponsoship as well. From what I know we get $500 to start the club. I'll update with more info later.
  3. Hey. Well I'm keen to get the "Electronic Artists Society" at the Univesity of Queensland (clubs and societies) going again. Since I have very little DJ knowledge, I need a couple of DJ's willing to help set it up, attend some meetups every few weeks, and generally help out and pass on your knowledge through lessons. UQ Market day is coming up in 3 months time. We will set up a stand at the uni and play some music on the day and get people interested in signing up. I was also thinking that we can earn enough money to buy our own equipment for the club, instead of hiring things out. Maybe earn enough to play with the CDJ2000's I hosted a BBQ for a club and we earned over $500 in profit in one day. If you work it out, we can earn a CDJ2000 in around 1 week. WHAT THE CLUB DOES: Meet up ever few weeks to talk about stuff. Hold classes, DJ lessons etc. eg. Hip hop class, House class Play music at launch parties, and anyone that wanted to DJ could give it a go. Play music at the Red Room Bar now and then. and more...
  4. What are your favourite top music blog sites? Here are some of mine. http://electrostation.blogspot.com/ http://www.that-dj.com/ I have more.. but if you share yours first
  5. Very nice set. Good chillout music
  6. Can you picture a club with someguy using their iPhone to DJ haha? It definitely has potential to change. Maybe CDJ's will be replaced with touch screen pads in the future. Possibly thinner than your laptop and easy to carry around.
  7. I thought PCDJ's was pretty much DJing off your computer haha.
  8. Nice track. Easy listening has a nice beat. I don't think my computer speakers picked up the low frequencies so I'm gonna download it and pump it out on my car
  9. I dunno, I would like to name a genre after me or something haha if I find something slightly different than other sub genres.
  10. Please dont ever mention PCDJ again Hey does using Serato Scratch Live count as PCDJing?
  11. This definitely looks like a new generation of DJing at it's primitive stages. I can picture this advancing onto a touch screen pad about the size of your screen. But it looks pretty hard to use because of the small screen and the limited options from one screen. But if your going to a party with this, it will look really unimpressive. Leaving the iPod on shuffle will do a better job haha.
  12. Ay good luck man, hope everything turns out well. If there are mistakes, learn from them
  13. I reckon you should also put in the genre name somewhere.ADJF (Dutch House) 10 min mix battle? So they all aren't the same name. + this is easy to judge. More views = best.
  14. Looking forward to listen to this
  15. Hey man I suggest putting carpet / hanging drapes up on your walls. Simple and inexpensive. I also heard that rough surfaces absorbs some noise as well so put up rough-surfaced furnishings. This video should help http://www.ehow.com/video_4971320_sound ... eaply.html It'll be pretty hard to sound proof after your room has been built.
  16. Lovin your mix Jonny I reckon you should change the title to Dutch House 10 min mix or something like that, and the info a bit so it sounds like you have more skill haha. Never heard of this genre, sounds really good though. Got a track list? Anyways good luck
  17. oops lol http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=ho ... 1259017357 DJ Dapimp Added and fixed.
  18. I'm pretty sure you don't need 1000 people because I have a few pages, some with over 5000 and some with less than 100 and I could still change them.Go to the link (make sure your logged onto your profile that created the page) and then set username for pages. You can only set it once, after that you can't change it.
  19. Wish you were in Brizzy I'm trying to buy a second hand one
  20. Hey man. You don't need 1000 followers. Simply go to this link: http:/www.facebook.com/username Go to select usernames for your pages and choose your URL.
  21. Added. Do you want me to put it as dapimp or Dapimp or DJ Dapimp lol? Edit: You want your actual Facebook profile? Do you have a Facebook fan page?
  22. Do we have to print them out ourselves? Btw I'm not going anymore.
  23. Downloading it now. I'll let you know how it'll sound but I'm not expert at how skilled you are, just how good the mix sounds. I like the start, but the rest is pretty average. Nothing special or good to listen too. Sorry
  24. I was gonna go, I know the guy that got me interested in DJing is going. I was thinking about going, should I go? I got my friends ID but it only looks a little like. I'd be happy to drop ADJF cards though next event or to friends. Send me
  25. Updated.
