CBG you hit the nail on the head, imo they should do somthing like the following depending on your earning potential as a working dj the price of the licences should be different eg if your only gunna do one gig a month why should you have to pay the same as the dj doing 5 gigs a night fri sat sun every week of the year? so if they are serious about having djs pay for the licences they need to get serious on pricing

i manage a night club you completely miss understood what i was trying to say if a venue doesnt have the required licenses to play music the fine does not transfer in anyway to the dj they are not employees of the venue and as in my example if a venue doesnt have the correct licenses to sell liquor and so on the bartender doesnt receive a fine its the employer eg licensee your spot on with the RSA tho

it is in no way the responsibility of the dj to ensure they licensed venue they are playing music at has the required license i dont give a shit what you say everything will come back to the licensee its like saying a bartender comes into a venue to work and the cops give a fine for selling alcohol because the venues liquor licence has ran out in a club hotel etc the dj is a middle man

i think having usb option on my cdj is awsome for example for house partys i load my ipods up with a shit load of music i wouldnt waste my time burning to cds eg 80s, pop, rock etc this saves me money on cds and allows me to say yes when the drunk punter comes up and asks for the song no ones heard in a decade
