Sweet thanks man, will play around with these ideas. especially layering, I think I've been trying to get 1 sound to do too many things.. When's the next LabRat banger coming out??
-
How do you go about judging each elements volume and punch? is it more experience, a method you follow or do you use reference tracks? You're tracks sound so balanced, and I'm always struggling to blend everything together..
-
ow wow.. how did I misread that? I mean thanks again Lab haha.
-
Bloody kicks are my biggest issue I reckon.. Thanks for the feedback Cupe, appreciate it man.

I guess they used my contact info that's on unearthed.. Don't think they are related to triple j at all. Yeah fair call Mitch. Hard to know what is actually legit
-
Na sorry it's a separate company called The A & R Department. They say they have worked with Safia, Hearts, Meg Mac and bunch of other artists..
-
Feel like I've been spamming lately but had a few tracks on the burner... Last one for a bit I think! Check it out and let me know, you're input has been awesome, so keep it coming

Hoi, so after I popped a couple of my tracks on triplej unearthed I got an email from a bloke from the A&R department in Sydney saying he wanted to chat. I have emailed back and forth a bit and he's given me his no. etc. It all checks out as being legit but has anyone worked with them or know anything about them? They are basically saying for a rather high price they will help release my music independently.. With help accessing radio, marketing and distribution, studio access etc etc. anybody got thoughts on it?

Yeah true for each track it will sound smoother introing.. more personal. "Dis ya boi IgnisOfficial on BBC radio bedroom!" -

I'm no expert but I would think you could just throw you're recording into something like garageband/any DAW and pop a vocal recording over your mix... maybe dorp the volume on your mix and do your intro then bring the volume back up and export it as one? -
Right that's awesome, I have barely done anything with the rack before.. never really understood why I would need it over just throwing the effects on the track anyway. I'll give this a go next time I'm mixing, it will be super handy to get a more specific control on each sound... thanks +1 +1

Mmmman thank you! such a good tip.. I was struggling with exactly that, the low of the bass was just a bit heavy and I couldn't get that mid to push through enough. I thought I was over thinking it and gave up.. so I can pull down the low a bit and push the mid/high or whatever more directly than trying to eq it like on eq eight for example? sorry not sure that made sense... Thanks man awesome feedback, really appreciate it. Yeah I didn't originally want the distorted sound but ended up leaving it for effect.. not sure if it was a good/bad call but it is what it is!

New 1 I did.. feedback me if you feel like it
-
Yeah good sound mate, little repetitive or something towards the 2nd half but otherwise was pretty sweet.
-
Sick find, can't wait to try this
-
Yeah he's bloody good hay.. any feedback? good/bad is fine
-

Hey guise, I uploaded 3 tracks to triplej Unearthed the other day just in time to be in the running for the latest comp. If you feel like giving them a listen here is the link; https://www.triplejunearthed.com/artist/bristles They are pretty much the top couple original tracks from all the stuff I've been working on lately. Feedback would be super appreciated.. cheers xx

Thanks Lab, always come through with the goods

Cheers guys, I've been working on a few genres lately. I'll send you an example when I get a chance and I'm not stuck at work. Need to learn some more about multibands, got a real rough idea but not too much knowledge on em. Any good tutorials or explanations you guys know of?

Looking forward to hearing a mix man!

yeah figured.. worth a short but. seems to be my drums more than anything, they always seem to pop through to hard and I spend ages fiddling with them. cheers for response but
