  1. Thanks for the recommendations man, I'm out east of melbourne so the Fitzroy ones are looking pretty good.
  2. Hey lads, I'm kinds new to this whole turntablist thing, but I've been using a controller for a while now. I've got CDJs, a mixer, and one record player, all im missing is some vinyl, im having to make-do with what I can find in op shops and the like. Basically the question is, wheres the go to spot in Melbourne for some old hip hop records or acapellas?
  3. Thanks man, the launchpad was actually the first piece of gear I started out with
  4. my setup that i just finished thanks to the arrival of the numark mixer still gotta fill up the CD rack though
  5. thanks for the replies fellas, i reckon the M2 or M4 is the way to go just to get some sort of basic sound out for the moment, and as you said LabRat, it'll be easy to upgrade to something bigger and better down the line.
  6. Thanks for the welcomes guys!
  7. First up, thanks for the informative reply man. Funny you should mention Gumtree, I've been scouring it just about every day, trying to find something that'll get the job done. That's where I found the citronic actually. Are the numark mixers bad in build or sound quality from what you've experienced, or are they just a waste of time altogether?
  8. Hey adjf, I'm in the market for a mixer and I've narrowed it down to a few I like the look of... -numark M2/M4 (not sure if the extra channel is worth the extra cash) -citronic smfx 200 (lots of effects and I've found one very cheap) If there's a better deal out there, please let me know. I'm trying to pick up a mixer that has an adjustable crossfader and 3-band EQ mainly. Itd be nice to have the cross fader reverse, if only so I could try out reverse scratching.
  9. G'day from rural Victoria! Im pretty new to all this, but I picked up a DDJ-SB about six months ago, loved it and am now in the process of starting up my own local mobile DJ business for my area, doing parties and whatnot. I'll probably just be searching these forums for tips n stuff, and asking a few stupid questions here and there.
