Today’s electronic dance culture is due for a melodic transcendence from the shadowy, industrial electro that has been hammering away at the scene. As dance floors begin to buckle under such weighty beats, the Belgium ( Brussels ) -based band aptly named Aeroplane is dedicated to elevating its fans toward a higher musical space undefined by standardized genres. They reach for freedom from constraints of predictability, weaving currents of psychedelic guitars, pop keys, disco beats, catchy bass lines and melancholic waves into a singular connection of modern beat-driven music. At the controls of Aeroplane are Stephen Fasano and Vito Deluca, a duo whose combined experience gives life and emotion to the music. Vito brings with him a producer background that pulsates the hands and heart of Aeroplane, and Stephen’s DJ roots vibrate the eyes and soul. Their unique collaboration of sound and purpose is channelling appreciation from among the biggest DJs and producers around, and the 2007 release of their first 12" entitled "Caramellas/Aeroplane" (Eskimo Recordings) has generated a jet stream of increasing momentum. Subsequent releases have kept their ring tones looping with remix requests from artists like Cobra Dukes, Das Pop, Lindström, Cut Copy, Grace Jones, MGMT, Bloc Party, and Friendly Fires. Projects like these reinforce the integration of electronic music into the omnipresent indie scene. Blends of Cosmic Nu Disco, Psychedelic, Balearic, Emo, etc. are forming a new era of musical hybrids, and explorations are officially under way. After all, machines are human too… Aeroplane’s orbit originated from an unlikely dot on the globe called Walonie, in the southern French part of Belgium. Stephen’s ravenous musical addiction led him to a record pusher named Vito, whose shop became the launch point for their combined vision. As a duo, they fuel up on every ray of light that breaks through their similar backgrounds. Of mutual Italian descent, both were born and raised amid the smoky gray of the industrial Brussels suburbs. Their music dissolves those clouds and celebrates a cosmic hope they’ve carried with them, each determined to find harmony in life among family, friends and fans. woooooo hooooooooo! Easily one of the most exciting artists to emerge in the scene over the past 2 years, we are estatic to present to you Motor City Drum Ensemble at Sorry Grandma! Possibly the most anticipated gig of 2009 Danilo Plessow has been re-defining the house genre with his sampledelic raw cuts series as well as a plethora of remixes for everyone who's anyone. More info: A Stuttgart native (hence the Motor City reference within his best known alias, it being Germany’s answer to Detroit along with Frankfurt), Danilo Plessow has been dabbling in the deeper shades of dance since his early teenage years. With his inimitable Raw Cuts series seamlessly joining the dots between classic Chicago House, Detroit Techno and New York Disco (via Stuttgart, of course), and gaining support from every DJ with taste and ears (pretty much), Plessow’s take on dance music references its rich history while always pushing its boundaries. The multi-faceted nature of the MCDE sound is made even more impressive by the fact that its perpetrator is yet to celebrate his 25th birthday! From the age of 17 Danilo has been gaining props for his recorded output, first for the Jazzy House and Broken Beat cuts created under the Inverse Cinematics moniker with his friend Joachim Tobias, which issued several 12”s, numerous remixes and one LP. Since the MCDE project came to life in 2008, Mr Plessow has been on something of a dream run, to date issuing 6 volumes of the Raw Cuts series which have united fans of deep Disco and deeper House with their distinctive cut and paste flavour. 2009 has already seen the MCDE remix touch applied to scene stalwarts DJ T, Steve Bug, Jazzanova, DJ Sprinkles and Toby Tobias among others, with original productions for 20:20 Vision and Mule Musiq also delighting dancers all over. Meanwhile, Mr P’s MCDE label and Four Roses imprint (a collaboration with Mujaba) continue to turn heads, and DJ bookings keep the passport stamps coming for Danilo (recent jaunts include the UK, US and Russia), leading to the conclusion that the only way continues to be up for Motor City Drum Ensemble. Support from: Jason Martin Pauly Main, Knightlife, Otologic, Ooh-ee and Andee Frost. Entry: $20 tickets will be available on the door, PRESALES available via MOSHTIX – http://www.moshtix.com.au/event.aspx?id=31861 http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=196586451339 Hearing aid for the night is 'Raw Cuts'

Press Release: Holy Ghost Cancel Australian Tour Date: Wednesday 18th November Grandma and her crew would regretfully like to inform media and public that Holy Ghost have cancelled their Australian Tour only days before their arrival and will not be playing at Sorry Grandma! this weekend. Future Classic have released this statement below from Alex and Nick of Holy Ghost. The show here at Sorry Grandma! will continue on with our usual suspects. Apologies for any inconvenience, those who have purchased tickets on moshtix are able to get a refund through them. Statement: To whom it may concern, Last week our dear friend and musical partner Jerry Fuchs ( drummer of !!!, the juan maclean, turing machine, maserati, holy ghost!) passed away in a tragic accident here in nyc. Due to these events, we have cancelled our Australian tour to be here in nyc with friends and family during these hard times. We regret this immensely and are particularly sorry to have made this decision at the last possible minute. As you can imagine, this past week has been a long, awful blur and rather suddenly today we realized we are just not ready to travel so far from home for what seems like an impossibly long period of time. We love Australia and are grateful to have had the opportunity to visit earlier this year. Hopefully we'll be back again soon and we'll get a chance to make this up to you. We sincerely appreciate your understanding. Regards, Alex and Nick Holy Ghost!

If you like electronic music and you’ve lived in Paris for the last 15 years, there’s no way you don’t know this man… but you don’t, you live in Melbourne and you might not be familiar with him just yet… Sorry Grandma! introduces D’julz on Saturday 21st November. D’Julz started playing the very first Paris raves back in 1992. Since that time he never stopped running to make things happen in his hometown. He’s also the oldest resident of Rex Club with his party Bass Culture. Today D’Julz is releasing more and more great music. After having produced EP’s and remixes for label such as Music For Freaks, Paper recordings, 20:20 Vision, Poker Flat, Ovum, Real Tone, Intacto or Circus Company, D’Julz is launching his own label Bass Culture. D’julz started his career in 1992. He quickly got a personal style that turned him into one of the leading French DJs. His music is at the crossing of House and Deep Techno with strong acid and funk influences. After one year spinning in Paris early raves and legendary clubs he releases the first ever mix Cd in France and decides to take this as an opportunity to export his sound. In 1993 he moved to New York where he becomes for one year the principal ambassador of the newborn French scene. There, D’julz spun at the famous NASA raves and in such clubs as: Club USA, Tunnel, Limelight, Nell’s… Back from the States, his reputation quickly spreaded all other Europe’s major clubs, working steadily to finally becoming a first class DJ, producer, remixer and now label boss. Support from: Aram Chapers, Katie Drover, Sunshine and more. Entry: $20 tickets will be available on the door, PRESALES available via MOSHTIX – http://www.moshtix.com.au/event.aspx?id=31707 http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=184471487240 $20 on the door $15 on list (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=75403197471) with the hearing aid 'Diamonds & Jewels'

More info: Friends since childhood, the pair grew up on NYC's Upper West Side, learning from and eventually signing to DFA, the legendary New York label that’s home to LCD Soundsystem, Hot Chip and The Juan MacLean. In the last year alone Holy Ghost! have remixed MGMT, Phoenix, Moby, Cut Copy, In Flagranti and Mock & Toof while releasing productions on cult labels Modular, Permanent Vacation, Kitsune, Groove and Mute. Their explosive two-man DJ show is guaranteed to have something for everyone (even if you like to sing along). Sorry Grandma! is holding the official launch to the Ministry of Sound Release – You Only Live Once mixed by Black Angus and Dangerous Dan. The guys will be in town to play and they will be joined by Sorry Grandma residents all the way until 2pm the next day!!!! Around 10 years ago, a little idea in a little club was born. The idea was simple; really good music, really good people, all of the time. And so, Sneaky Sundays was born.... and so too was Sneaky Sound System. The night wasn’t about the newest music, it wasn’t about the oldest music, it was about whatever music worked to make the party right. And the party was ALWAYS right! About 5 years later Sneaky Sound System went on to become bona fide pop stars, topping the charts, winning awards and travelling the globe with their electro-pop anthems. At the very same time Sneaky Sundays was still heaving, although the little club had quickly grown up and was now pulling in around 1000 loyal followers every Sunday. The club’s proud founders/fathers, Black Angus and MC Double D, still ran the show and would play whenever they were in town. Miss Connie would also drop in from time to time to tear the roof off the place. Meanwhile, across the road on Friday nights, four guys learning to DJ (plus one very good DJ) were putting on some of the most debauched parties the civilised world had ever seen. They were turning people and places literally upside down and inside out. They were the Bang Gang. They were good friends with the Sneaky gang and sure enough they all became very, very good DJs and began playing regularly on Sunday nights – they were Dangerous Dan, Ajax, Gus da Hoodrat, Jaime Doom and Beni. At times it felt like there were more DJ’s than punters, all crammed in the corner fighting to play records. A line-up of stellar guests would also grace the decks: James Murphy (LCD), Tiga, Mylo, Riton, Hot Chip, Pilooski, Aeroplane, Breakbot, DJ AM (RIP), Will I Am, KIM, Mike Simonetti, Steve Aoki, Eli Escobar...man, even Simon Le Bon jumped on the mic. Jonny Pow would later become a resident and a couple more young guns, Jimmy 2 Sox and U-GO-B, would join long time warm up king Peter Dolso in the army of merrymakers at Sneaky Sundays, every Sunday at Hugo’s Lounge in Kings Cross, Sydney, Australia. Now 10 years on from the beginning, the people who play really good music, to really good people... all of the time, give you YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE. http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=202680973377

Selected Jerks 2001-2009 is a collection of personal musical explorations created by Kimberley Isaac Moyes. Produced in the same said time period, Selected Jerks 2001-2009 acts as a musical clearing of the slate, nine years of artistic growth bundled up and set loose, paving way for future expeditions deep into inner and outer space. Deep into the rave cave. Selected Jerks 2001-2009 perfectly encapsulates the gamut of musical and personal evolution that Kim has run, from the wide-eyed boy fresh from music school in 2001, through the thrilling trajectory his day job in The Presets has taken since beginning in 2003, on to his current role, as a kind of modern day rave patron. This veritable nest egg of tracks has almost hatched several times already this century, with tracks have fleeing the roost in limited quantities in different countries at differing times. Wet ‘n Wild appeared first on Cutters Records, By The Time That They Reach You came out on Bang Gang 12 Inches, Fistogram and Party Machini both appeared as Modular 12”s, and a combination of tracks appeared on an out of print Japan-only mini album on the Rallye label. Herein however, is the authoritative guide to the complete catalogue of Kim’s works to date, available together on CD and digitally from October 30. It combines the few tracks previously available with many completely unreleased, with a 2nd disc collecting the various remixes of his work that have been commissioned. The sounds too capture a kind of Jekyll and Hyde personality at work over the years, with those tracks obviously aimed squarely at the dancefloor perfectly offset by a series of wistfully melancholy, downbeat dreamsuites. Tracks like Wet ‘n Wild and Fistogram still sound perfectly primed for any discerning dancefloor, and added to these monsters is an updated version of System Breakdown and a brilliantly brutal minimal techno number called No Imagination that perfectly exemplifies one side of Kim today. On the flipside is the more downtempo, curious side to Kim’s work, from the spastic drum machine meltdown of Tools Of The Trade, the open-field lope of Gold Rush and Tired Of Wasting, the misty eyed romanticism of Be Home Soon, and the stunningly mesmerizing atmosphere of Out Here In The Stratosphere. Combined, these two seemingly disparate approaches make for a beautifully balanced overview of one individual’s musical landscape. And not a moment too soon. ...and Beni is no slouch either but the internet is tired... with support from... Andee Frost, Ooh Ee, Otologic, Miss Krystal, Mr. George xxx presale tickets will be available at moshtix.com SHOW THE DOOR GIRLS YOUR MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUTS TICKETS FOR DISCOUNT ENTRY ON THE NIGHT, $10 IS ALL YOU PAY BABES http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=148540878955
