  1. I have one of these and have had no trouble with it. It is a great little mixer!
  2. I'm just wondering what beginner DJ's such as myself should focus most of their time on? Obviously beat matching is crucial to DJ'ing but what other things should we be trying to do to create smooth mixes? As a beginner it can be really tempting to play around with loops and effects but I think these are probably a waste of time if you can't smoothly transition between tracks. Would like to hear your thoughts Cheers
  3. Great info mate will definitely look into these labels as I am after some more trance choons! Can you recommend me some more trance artists? Cheers PN
  4. I've been into EDM for a couple of years now and I love it. Purchased my first DJ setup about 6-8 months ago and I am absolutely loving it. Also starting to get into production and my weapon of choice is FL Studio due to the ease of use although it is still a very steep learning curve and to get anything sounding half decent is quite tricky. I'd also like to know what resources or tutorials you have used as their doesn't seem to be that much around for FL. PN
  5. Thanks a lot mate I think I might have the channel gains too low and the master output too high Will try this tonight and see how I go Thanks again
  6. It is a true line in. It is a built in 5.1 (I think) sound card on the Asus A8N SLI Premium. The first mix I recorded sounded terrible, that was a few weeks ago and I realized my gains and master output were set too high and the VU's were hitting the red occasionally now I make sure they stay around 0db. Where should the channel and master VU's be at during a mix? I'll try connecting my line in to master output 1 and see if it possibly is the master output 2. Maybe even try getting some new cables. Cheers for your help
  7. Hi there, I have a DJM-400 and the quality of the mixes I record is not too good. I have the master output 2 connected directly to my computers line in using an rca-3.5mm cable recording with audacity. I'm actually using two cables male rca-female rca and male rca-3.5mm so I guess that could possibly be another reason why the quality is lacking. If my HIFI system which I have master output 1 connected to, had a line out on it would it be better to connect the cable to that and into the line in of my computer so I have an amplified signal? Any ideas? Cheers
  8. My house mate uses this to create mixes that we use for party's and general listening. It's very easy to use and doesn't have a steep learning curve. After playing around with it for a while you can have some decent sounding mixes. Highly recommend it. PN
  9. Hey guys and gals, I'm 23 years old from south aus been spinning for about 6-9 months but really starting to get into it. Spin house, electro house but also like trance and some other stuff. I have a decent first setup 2x CDJ 200's and a DJM 400 its a pretty solid set of gear to learn on. I'd love to meet some Adelaide DJ's to spin with and learn off them. I also wouldn't mind chatting to any DJ's on msn.. PN
