  1. September 18th is the day of reckoning for the under 18's event that I have been working on. Venues proved to be the main issue but at last we are in the door. Bedroom DJ's send me your stuff , payment will be negotiated on a case by case basis but as per previous posts if playing is your passion but you have nowhere to try out your stuff and pad your portfolio we are willing to hear your argument. When everything is printed will post screenshot of flyer , as usual it has been months in the making followed by a mad dash to the finish. Even if you don't get to play on this date keep it in mind and come and have a look afterall if you are under 18 this is the place for you.
  2. Have posted previously asking for bedroom dj's to play at under 18 parties, well believe it or not the party is on. What I am looking at though is a back up system incase someone doesn't turn up or can't get their gear to the show. Have seen this controller Stanton DJC.4 All-In-One USB DJ Controller priced at $439.50 is this a capable system at this price or some more dollars gets way more bang for my buck , or an alternative system at this price range will be a better pick? The ausdj members have proven themselves passionate so any feedback is usually well versed . Please help me see the forest, thanks guys and gals. P.S Bedroom dj's check my previous threads and get bacxk to me if you are interested-
  3. What is the history of the gear? Will be throwing little parties in community halls what am I looking out for when buying this stuff? Price sounds reasonable, is it overly cheap or market price? Get back to me . In NSW so packing and posting price needed also, cheers.

  5. AUSDJFORUMS LOOKS LIKE A COMMUNITY OF PASSIONATE MEMBERS ,DIFFERING VIEWS IS FINE JUST i THINK WE MAY HAVE COMPLETELY FKD THE DUK HERE ,IF i WAS AN UP AND COMER, BEDROOM DJ, OR JUST A YOUNGER MEMBER OF THIS FORUM i THINK i WOULD BE HESITANT TO SIGN UP TO THIS THREAD NOW.THERE IS NO ONE TO BLAME AND i WILL STILL KEEP THE OFFER OPEN(FOR THIS PARTY AND THE NEXT-i PREFER TO GIVE PEOPLE A GO BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW IT ISN'T THE NORM) BUT LOOKS LIKE I'LL NEED TO BE A COCK AND ITUNES THE SHIT OUT OF VIRTUAL DJ. ALL THE BEST EVERYONE TO THE YOUNGSTERS OR OLDER LATE BLOOMERS STILL DROP US A LINE HERE AT AUSDJFORUM. TRY AGAIN SOON AS I GET THE SHIT HAPPENING. PS SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS LOCK I TYPE BLIND,IE IT JUST SPILLS OUT ONTO THE KEYBOARD AND AT THE END I LOOK AT THE SCREEN.
  6. Please excuse the mistakes made in the initial post I was naively writing it with the assumption of goodwill, as far as being clear that is why I put the bullet points in because I also found it a tad "too easy" or vague. Personal messages to this account if you don't want to expose certain points would suit me best as if I use my email account I would most probably miss messages and logistically it would be a nightmare. This has been a long time coming, in the past all halls police boys clubs RSL leagues clubs etc would back away as soon as they heard under 18's. Then when it came to liquor licenses and insurance for over 18's I was and still am not in a position to finance it( not that I don't want to risk it, I just don't have that few thousand on hand) so I got into music production and Pro tools has been helping Ableton kick my ass ever since. Now I have seen a crack in their armour so I have once again awakened my inner raver in the hope of providing the upcoming generation with entertainment that we took for granted. If anyone had told me that our scene would be in the current state 20 years ago I would have never believed it and fought them tooth and nail speaking of the growth that should have been made in this time. For all the ex disco heads to be sitting back complaining about noise and the type of music or trends that are around or that our streets are dangerous. What they need to ask is what is different , why is it violent (is it really anyway?) and I guarantee the answer would continually come back boredom and lack of options( as well as the wrong chemicals ,but that is also a thing of personal choice) Getting back to the point at hand let me outline my situation.Tomorrow I will be attending appointments with venue operators who will be grilling me and will be looking for reasons to not give me the premises so I need all my ducks in a row. Even the date needs to be outlined so if I manage to secure a spot I would need to have the most important factors available with a decent amount of time at my disposal to organise the schedule. Hence my general call for DJ's on a DJ forum, so once again please excuse my initial posts lack of details but it is truly where the situation is at the moment and I do believe that with the current political climate we will be up and running eventually. interested parties can expect a further update soon as I will be aiming for the unrealistic date of 16th or 17th May sure I could throw figures around and talk up a big game and have DJ's shuffling their days around and telling their peers that they have a gig and how much they think they will get paid etcetera , starting a never ending snowball of ifs and buts which will add up to lies if I can't swing a party and payment in the end , oh hang on I just went back to the beghinning , must be this too long don't read post (please be advised that when dealing with DB long drawn out jibberish may be a recurring theme) Summary: I need to have DJ's, AV equipment , staff, and more ready before I can commit to a date so please feel free to upload or PM me here if interested or you have any other questions or issues you need help with. P.S. Thankyou mods and members for taking time out to stem the tide and bring this simple topic back under control P.S.S My posting skills will get better
  7. do you really think that there are parties and jobs for up and coming dj's? Here in Sydney some councils are starting to wake to the fact that kids need venues,if we don't put in some volunteer hours you can keep playing your bedroom. If there is any serious inquiries feel free to ignore the wanabees and drop us a line. For those who think venues security staff permits and even guests appear out of the blue and with no $ outlay just keep trolling away maybe when your say 30 or 40 years old(even though that could be next week) you can think back and say if only we did more playing and less winging maybe Sydney/Australia could have a scene of DJ's to rival any artist block worldwide. Then again maybe $100 is more important, you know what the kids that just wanna play ,get in touch.

  9. When I youtube tutorials the presenter assumes a certain level of understanding from his/her audience ,which either leaves gaping gaps in the method or has the new Ableton student so confused about the previous slides that they have no idea what is going on in the next so if you were interested in doing a progressive series of tutorials it would be good to start with basic descriptions/instructions. Audio setup and the like can be up to the user but from then on in what is a rack how to use instruments when you drag ,for example operator how do you yourself use it. The fact that we have access to an inumerable amount of information on the internet and still can't seem to crack it may also show that we are too lazy/impatient to slowly work our way through the ableton manual. Basically we are the people who buy idiots guides to Ableton, that aside watching someone work and having them explain in detail what they are doing ,why they are doing it , the advantages of the method and any alternative ways of achieving the same result allows us to progress at a greater speed, but the voice over needs to be thorough with their explanations and continue to assume that the viewer has absolutely no Ableton knowledge. If you do this I'm sure it would be of great value to many of your readers , either way I'll be watching the tutorial this post is just an aknowledgement of the fact that this type of tutorial is needed, you idea is valid.
