  1. hey, saw that my myself. i'm surprised that people are willing to drop this type of money on a guy with 0 ebay reputation. i suppose there's some reassurance in that fact you can pay via paypal. if you're local, check it out and and pickup after inspection. ebay scams are quite common, and as a general rule, i wouldn't trust a newly registered ebayer. having said that, if it's indeed a genuine transaction, you could get a really good deal. depends if you're willing to take the risk or not.
  2. i'd love to raid his house anyone for a trip to london? i got dibs on 2x mk4 and 2x mk6
  3. i'm sure you know. but the MK4 has DVS (digital vinal system) support. so later down the track you can add turntables, if that's your thing. i have the S2 MKII - really good piece of kid. found traktor was freezing quite a bit, so had to adjust the latency of the USB ports - now all good. good luck!
  4. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/201124054274 ... 1423.l2649 above listing (not mine) for technics mk4. very pricey. same guy selling MK6s as well - again, not cheap. i wonder if any DJ has the coveted MK4s as their decks?
  5. Sure does. Only one way to find out...
  6. not bad - still stings though
  7. i see the prices is pretty good on yahoo auctions, but when you look at shipping, it's about 200-400 dollars!!! ouch
  8. thanks, Scottie! solid advice. how did you go about getting your turntable from Japan? did you go yourself, or did you get it online (ebay, etc).? thanks sk
  9. i believe he was selling his MK5 from Japan. just had this interest in purchasing a mk6 as it was a domestic only, so no chance to get dual voltage or a 'euro' version of the same.
  10. hi does anyone have experience with Japanese imports? as they're made for the domestic Japanese i would assume they only come with the 110v power recommendation. does anyone know if they come with voltage selector? are there any issues with using a step up transformer? thanks sk
  11. hmm, may look into import from Japan. what about the step-up transformer? any issues with it? i realise a lot of people are using transformers without any problems? what about some technics that come with 110-220v switch?
  12. how much should you pay per turntable in mint condition?
  13. think i'm going to have a look at these mixers in person at store dj in sydney this coming week
  14. yeah. thought as much. still hunting for mine. someone selling 2x MK5s in sydney for 1800... no reply yet though... reported as 'new'.
  15. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/brisbane ... 1048787565 too good to be true or what? if i was in brisbane, i would've gone to inspect now. frustrating that everything is out my area haha
  16. have you had a look at ebay? LOTS of serato scratchlive 1s on sale, usually ranging between 150-300. mind you, it's now considered old technology with inferiro sound output and usb1. SL2 goes for about 400 ish, and most SL3s (3 deck output) sits about 500. of course, gumtree has plenty and i had the opportunity to buy an SL2 for 280 (which was very cheap indeed). good luck sk ps. how are the decks? you got the MK5s?
  17. thanks for your input. i have toyed with the idea of the innofader on the ah23/c, though the thought of installation puts me off hehe . i want to use serato though, and i don't think the 23c is compatible with serato (out of the box). the sound on AH supposed to be great. is the build quality good? last me years? heard there were a few issues with the xone 22...?
  18. hello. i'd like to get your experience and opinion on board. i'm quite keen pursue DJing and want to purchase some equipment (2nd hand mainly). in my topic i realise i've put a wide range of mixers from quite affordable to not so. it would be for home use only, so mobility is not an issue. i predominantly want to mix, but do not want to exclude scratching. i was thinking serato SL2 plus allen heath 23 or rane 56s. so my first question is - is the rane56s any good for pure mixing? i've read allen heath has great sound, generally considered great for mixing, but may not be meant for scratching. the 56s on the other hand is a solid product with scratch capabilities, but in terms of mixing, i'm not entirely sure where i stand. so this brings me to the final question - the rane sixty two (or sixty one). i realise the price bracket is not even comparable. but it seems it's got everything in it from built in soundcard, a great mixer overall and midi functionality. is it really worth it for a beginner? i'm just thinking of putting down money now, so it will last me 'forever'. (i did think about the rane 57sl, but it's been discontinued...). cost of SL2 and AH23 or 56s is approx $1000 (2nd hand) and add another 100-200 for midi pads (novation dicer etc). whereas, if i got a sixty two ( approx rrp $2000) second hand it could be around the 1500 mark if i'm lucky? your opinions would be valued. thank you sk
  19. yeah. i agree. i would purchase to buy. seems quite cheap for that model. anyhow, just had a look now - they're gone. what should you expect to pay for near mint MK II? thanks
  20. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/sydney-c ... 1048283466 what do you all think. i'm keen to purchase technics, but not sure i want to pay that kind of money. also, the GLD version doesn't necessarily appeal greatly to me. seems kind of cheap for this version?
  21. must be BS then. speaking of BS. i was able to negotiate a SL2 off gumtree to 280 (and subsequently found one on ebay for 300). the guy clearly doesn't know anything about it. he said he couldn't demonstrate the use due to lack of a power supply unit. dodgy...
  22. well to be fair, i wouldn't leave my number on an add. i'd screen using email, but you're probably right. i wonder if he got a reply yet...
  23. i agree, if you're keen on these, go for it. CDJs unfortunately do not appeal to me, but nonetheless, a great setup if it's your thing. looking at a 50% saving or even more.
  24. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/turvey-p ... 1047677018 thought i give whoever is interested a heads up. seems a good deal to me. maybe negotiate down to 3000-3500? good luck
