Im not a promoter or anything, but this index had no posts, so i thought that since im currently in Darwin i would let you guys all know about some of the major events that happen up here in the beautiful Top end. Do keep in mind... theres not many. SUMMER SESSIONS 2014 Summer sessions is Held at Darwins most popular Beach - Mindil Beach. Darwins biggest EDM Festival which goes from Midday to Midnight. Recently just announced the date for this years Summer Sessions which is on the 7th of June (Queens Birthday Long weekend). Last Year over 5000 EDM Fans (Yes Very small) Not an allstar international line up but did get some well known artists like Kissy Sellout, Bass Kleph, Goodwill, Zoe Badwi, Peking Duk, Ten DMC, The Twins and Silver Sneakers. They had two Stages, #1 Main stage, as usual and another one was the silent disco. At $45 a ticket for general admission, and cheap XXXX (sponsors) you cant really go wrong on a beautiful Dry season Darwin Saturday Check out the video from last year (June 8th -2013) I arrived in Darwin the day before Summer sessions last year, so went out that night then had a big day the next. Personally i wouldn't bother comparing it anything like Stereo, but for Darwin it was a pretty epic day.

Well what ive got now is a shitty little hp G62 notebook thingy. had it for about 4 years so im ready to upgrade anyways. Easier to buy a new lappy, whatever it may be and go place a decent sound card it (Which would be apprx ?? I have no idea haha) Or Are there any out there that have already decent soundcards in them? Still sceptical on a Mac, i have An iPhone, iTouch, iPad, iPod and i use iTunes.. haha but havent used anyting else but windows.. not that it worries me going to a new program, it wouldn't take long to get use to..

Hey Fellas, Im Looking at upgrading all my Equipment very soon, and thought maybe you guys could give me some tips on what to get and what would work with what im trying to produce.. Type Of Music: Mainly EDM from House, Dance, Melbourne Bounce, Progressive, Deep House, Drum and Bass if you guys get the picture. 1. Laptop/Computer Firstly ill need a new Laptop/Computer cause my lappy is slow as fuck. I was looking into a Mac because ive always wanted one and heard they're really good, But is it pointless to get if i want to use Ableton not LogicPro? (Which brings me to my next point..) 2. Programs/Software Im mainly interested in Ableton cause my mate uses it and ive been fucking around with it a few time and like to feel of it, but more or less ive heard great things about LogicPro.. Also whats a great Synthesiser that would be useful to the music id like to produce.. And anything else ive missed? haha (please remember im new to the game) 3. Keyboards/MIDI Controllers If i were to get ableton id purchase the AbletonPush, But would there be any other items id need? Keyboards? Etc? 4. Anything Ive missed? Like i said you guys know best, if ive missed anything let me know! Ive got my own little study room that is just waiting to get transformed into my own little.. well Studio if you must haha. Id like to get the beginners side of it up and going then later progress to more expensive and better products. Ive just moved uphere to Darwin for work and dont know anyone, soo my down time is spent either at the pub or on my decks. So Far i dont really have a budget, cause i dont have any money haha but id like to get a estimate on how much id need for the basics.. Thanks fellas!

Gday Ladies and Gents, My name is Dave, as you can see.. Glad to find a Forum with Lots of tips of tricks in this Industry. I cant play any instruments, but have been playing on different decks frequently for the last year, Untill i just bought a cheap controller (DDJ-SB) to muck around with at home. Looking to start gettin into Production as soon as i can, but just had a Month holiday so Funds arent too happy at the moment haha..
