  1. Thanks for the warm welcome, I will do my best to be as helpful as I can on subjects I know about
  2. 99% of the time that is the case.
  3. My prices start at $350 and goes up to $550 just depends on what gear they want, all packages come with 6hr
  4. Did a gig on Saturday night for a 21st, all Kiwi's, only people dancing had been the kids, people asked me to play songs they wanted so I did thinking they would dance but no they just stood around tapping there feet while getting drunk for the first few hours I felt like a jukebox, comes 1.5hr before home time and the floor is full with drunk Kiwi's and we went over time by 1hr.
  5. each powerboard should be rated at 240v @ 10amps with max load of 2400w, if your lights started to dim it could have been a few things wrong 1) faulty powerboard 2) power circuit may have had bad wiring or old 3) pulling too much power off the grid and the fuse was almost hitting it's peak. What I like to do where I can is run off 3 different power points in the venue, the first thing I do is ask where the fuse box is, try and work out if there are two different power circuit's in that room and if so put the one with the max load on one (in my case the speakers and sub) and my deck and lights off the other one.
  6. up until Saturday I never needed a pop filter but I will be getting some soon as people who are drunk think it's "Cool" to breath into the microphone at 100km/h

    Hey all

G'day everyone I'm DJ Fluffy or Fluff balls as my mates call me I'm a mobile DJ but I also am a sound tech for a local church. I have always had a passion for music and production work since I was a kid and knew when I was 8 years old that I wanted to do something in TV, radio, sound production or stage, well mum killed all those dreams for me and now I am a mobile DJ.
  8. Sorry to bring up a oldish thread, because I am a mobile DJ would I only need the PPCA as I am not converting CD to MP3 and so on nor am I making mixed tapes to send to clubs? Also if the venue I am at has a PPCA and all that jazz would I still need one or would I be covered by the venue?
  9. G'day all, I am in the process of replacing my microphones with something a bit better then the Lane and PylePro wireless microphones I have all ready, while I found I had no issue with the PylePro unit I did fine the microphone unit inside came lose as the glue came unstuck so now when you move them and the mic is open you get a nice bang sound over the PA. The Lane microphones well they sound cheap, look cheap and feel cheap and the output on the receiver is very low also another down side is if you walk more then 10m away from the unit it will cut out. I am looking at replacing the Lane unit with the GTD audio G-622H twin microphone unit has any one used these microphones or know much about them?
