well done!! its nice to see DJ's with a positive attitude and have the guts to go on stage and show their stuff! I completed my first ever gig in public at HQ at Soho earlier this year and i know how you fee when you go on stage. Not many people notice bad transitions between tracks unless there are DJ's with the trained ear. Now you know your weak points and you can now work on them. THere are many DJ courses out there that can help you. A good one is Beatshed in adelaide. they are located at Soundpond. Website for more info: http://www.beatshed.net/#!/services/dj-lessons Hope this helps. Regards Joe

One thing that always tricks everyone is: SSD's have write and read speeds. Make sure your get the fastest write speed and read speed as possible. There are some drives with read speeds of 530mb/s with only 130mb/s write speed. Write speed is where most of the performance comes in. In other words you will access files and load programs quickly, but when you start copying files to your SSD it will be a slower process. I bout a Kingston Hyperx SSD, read speeds of 555mb/s and 510mb/s write speed. Kingston make server memory and they have been around for a long time. They make quality products and you wont be dissapointed. http://www.kingston.com/en/ssd/hyperx/

copyright is very important in everything you do in music. best to see a music lawyer to see where you stand. You just never know when it will save your ass.

Looking for decent computer monitors at a decent price??
vieri3217 replied to dflux4's topic in Computer Corner
try msy computers they always have awesome prices! -
yep as they said, an external sound card will fix it
-
any laptop these days from around $700 and over will do the job Golden rule with any laptop, when using it for djing, make sure there are no apps or popup software that may interfere with your performance. Also turn off wifi to prevent audio glitches and turn off anti virus software as this can scan in the background at times and cause audio drop outs.

your service provider main page will have a speed test too! it will be the most accurate. I am with adam internet and they have a speed test.

1. Have any USB or external drives worked on your computer? 2. What is the make and model of your computer? As all the hardware devices have drivers associated similarly USB devices also have it. Sometimes proper drivers do not get detected after the initial installation so reinstallation of the drivers helps resolve the issues. You may check after uninstalling and reinstalling the USB drivers if you are able to connect. You may disconnect all USB devices and then perform the following steps: 1. ClickStart, and then click Control Panel. 2. ClickSystem and Maintenance, click System, and then clickDevice Manager. Note If Control Panel is in Classic View, double-clickSystem, and then click Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or clickAllow. 3. In Device Manager, double click to expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers", right click on the Host Controller, click "Uninstall" and click "OK". Check if at all there is an exclamation mark along the driver, it suggests issues with the driver installed. 4. Repeat the step 2 to uninstall all items under "Universal Serial Bus controllers". Then, restart your computer and Windows 7 will reinstall all USB controllers automatically. If you still face the same issue then you may check for the updated USB device drivers using windows update. Refer to the below link for assistance– http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... g-properly If the issue sill persists I would request you to check for chipset driver updates which you can get at the manufacturer website. The chipset drivers normally incorporate USB controller drivers as well.

Trying to make a choice - Mac or PC for Studio Production?
vieri3217 replied to Tomy's topic in Computer Corner
its all personal preference really. PCs are great to customize for a good price and make to suit your workflow. macs are great because they are easy to use, but i find the macs are too restriceted and drives me up the wall for the processes you have to go through to fix an issue. But i have seem many top artists use mac like armin van buuren. avici and darren porter use windows 7. i preferably enjoy using windows 7 because it is the most common system for work and personal use, i use it day in day out so i am very comfortable with it and know the ins and outs as i work in the IT indusrty.
