  1. I use it for promotional purposes, and let anyone add me! I use Facebook just for people I know I also agree it's a buggy site, it seems to take ages to do anything - and I'm on a fast computer with a 1500 connection
  2. I was trying to be careful not to DP - but wanted to make sure peeps who went straight for the 'Gear' didn't miss out on this info
  3. 'it seems drastically overpriced.' just on that point, the local distributors recently overhauled the price point of the SCS1 units from well over 2K to about $1200 (prices will vary depending on the retailer's willingness to discount) I'd say that's a move in the right direction!
  4. If you're interested in software controllerism, see this post in 'Events': www.ausdjforums.com/modules.php?name=Fo ... opic&t=909 you won't be disappointed! (plus you might win a new Stanton SCS3d touch-sensitive MIDI controller)
  5. Stanton's SCS Product Launch Presenting the future of Digital DJ Controllerism! The new touch-sensitive controllers from Stanton are here! The SCS3 units are light, compact and powerful with multi-state LED's to allow multiple layers of control. The SCS1 units are fully fledged digital behemoths, designed to complement your DJ software of choice and accommodate your particular style. They incorporate midi feedback for accurate representation of your software's parameters at any given time. These units are ready to go out of the box with Serato Scratch Live, Traktor 3.4, Traktor Scratch, Traktor (Scratch) Pro and Ableton Live, simply by downloading the current presets from the SCS website. Hands-on demo setups with all these software types will be available for interested participants at each of the Tour showcases in Melbourne, Sydney & Brisbane. One lucky person in each city can win a Stanton SCS-3d controller, simply by RSVPing and attending on the night. RSVP link is http://www1.jands.com.au/scs_launch There will be complimentary drinks and a tutorial at each event by Stanton's resident DJ and product specialist, B-side from Miami, USA. Helping B-Side out will be Stanton endorsees in Australia, namely Kid Kenobi, DJ Kuya and Crucial D. Any digital DJ interested in the future of 'Controllerism' cannot afford to miss out on these special showcase events!
  6. Remember, though, if you want to use it as a DVS (digital vinyl system) you will want to use a CD deck that has a jog / dial wheel on it (like a Pioneer CD-J). YES the dual decks will work BUT if they don't have jog wheels you won't have the tactile control which is the thing a DVS system is supposed to give you.
