About Me

  • Bio
i'm 34 started dj'ing underage in a nightclub with nightlife (back when they used video cassettes LOL!) learned to beat mix about age 18 and worked in many nightclubs as glassie, barman, security, management and if i was really lucky DJ!!! some of the places i have worked are casey's, blue moose, krystals, outer limits, candy chack, rock on, secrets, shooters, melbas, players, 3 in 1, high court etc etc ( all qld clubs ). i took a break from all things night club for quiet a few years until i found arm chair dj'ing with pc's was something available to me as i never had my own gear just the music. i'm re-learning and once again enjoying my love for mucking with music.

i'm still scared of hitting record and yes i know the "sync" button will give me aids and it does make me feel dirty but i like it LOL ( i can still match by ear but with the auto beat count on tracks kinda makes it obselete )

hope to pick up new tricks, meet more dj's to bounce off of and if i get the balls to hit record might even enter a comp or 2 :)

  1. Ok so I have a little issue that I can't seem to find the answer to and am hoping one of you have come across this before... So my music folder has 11,028 files in it, media player says 11,005. No biggie as I have those other files accounted for in album gifs and jpegs. Rekordbox on the other hand says 10601 and virtual dj says 9998 ... What other files should I be looking for seeing as virtual dj adds them automatically and I have drag-dropped the entire folder into rekordbox. edit: 330 wma files brings it closer to equal :S didn't realise i still had some hiding in there. so the last 100 files will be?
  2. oh the things "ladies" used to do to get their songs played.... either that or turning around so they can read the "F off i'm mixing" on the back of my shirt
  3. For his next intro post? lol nah saying "hi i'm me" once is more than enough LOL ... off to post the tracks i have to show my epic skillzzzzzz or lack thereof \:D/
  4. oops... kinda did both of them in the one post LOL .. edit button here i come edit: eek umm no edit option for the post... can a mod nuke the naughty bits?
  5. lol overit that mix needs no feed back... it started ok then went until it felt like i can do much better i just have to not lose my sh*t when i press "record" .. man i hate that button...
  6. i have 1 on soundcloud but it is a bit of a train wreck in the middle... bound to happen with 3 tracks at once, only using mouse and a good 70% of care erased by vodka LOL http://soundcloud.com/ben-noll/megamix-dj-dom DJ DoM is something i'm trying on for size as i'm 34, 2 kids, wife, wanting to dj again = dirty old man... i need something better than my old school moniker of "Dj-B" the above mix is the typical story of amazing mix after amazing mix feeling god-like, then hitting "record" and all of a sudden your going at it like a tone-deaf 5 yr old with ADD and a gut full of redbull LOL!!!! btw anyone know why my main sound out lags 1/2 beat behind what is coming through my head phones? would it be the processing by the surround sound unit?
  7. just joined (obviously lol) i'm an old school Dj having a mid life crisis and reliving the former glory albeit in my lounge room seeing this makes me remember "f**K off i'm mixing" t-shirts hehe anyway can't wait to have a look at what this site is about and as it says in my bio i may get brave and hit record for the odd comp. btw is an old hand that is getting back into classed as a noob or would i have to play against the big boys?
