welcome man. yeah there is no right or wrong way to go. cdj's are a a bit less expensive, especially when it comes to getting your music. they are more compact, and have more features (e.g the Cue, BPM readers, a few effects looping, hot cue's) the cue and bpm reader make things real easy to learn, but its a bit of a short cut, and if you find yourself going from cdj to turntables youll almost have to relearn how to beatmatch, because using the bpm reader your doing it by vision, not really your ear, turntables more expensive, but so much more fucking stylish , youll learn how to mix properly on these are there is no bpm aid to give you indications on where your at with the bpm of a track. you can scratch better and do all that jazz(with lots of practise of course). but yeah dosent matter really, if you get to a club to play almost every club will have a set of cdj's and some turntables. personal pref. although personally i wish id started on vinyl

btw they arnt sub bass wobble. its 3 sine waves, 1 set at -30 detuned and one at +30 so it creates this phasing sound, the 2 detuned ones sent to a low pass filter, then the 3rd one which is mixed with a bit of triangle wave is sent to a highpass so its not to muddy or something. cant remember exactly what i did. anyway cheers for the feedback
-
all sweet dude, this is the feedback i look for. like people saying 'yeah cool track i dig it' all nice, but it dosent help me. im working on it some more now. + rep mayne

been a while since ive done a dubstep original. here is my latest track. its not as heavy as my ussual ones, and has a chilled vibe to it, as well as a decent bass in it though, i recon it works well, but thats for you guys to decide. http://soundcloud.com/jonny-b-music/unnamed-jonny-b also, name suggestions?

man, to me your like turning into the trentemoller of dubstep, through this whole song i was just staring at my computer screen blankly caught up in the track. for me this is my favorite of your tracks, dont know why but it is, 10/10 man

http://www.ausdjforums.com/modules.php? ... pic&t=1425 ok so basically the gain, is how strong the signal being sent to your amp is, and the amp turns that signal strength into sound, and you can then alter the sound volume with the amp. Now if the gain is too high, your sending an signal that is damaging to the amp. so the signal is bad before it gets to the amplifier, so when the amp turns that signal into sound the sound is going to be a bad sound regardless of the volume. if you know what i mean? Ok so the gain sends the signal, the strength of the gain determins how much quality the the sound will have. the amp only controlls how loud the sound will be. so the reason it sounds better when your gain is down and the amp is up, is because the gain is sending a clear signal, and the amp is trunign that clear signal into a loud sound, that is clear. but when you have the gain up and the amp down, the hain is sending a shit signal so no matter what volume the amp is on, its gonna sound craper. i hope that made sence. cause honestly im not to sure what im talking about. just going off what that post said.

i know the is a reason for this, but i cant remember, i think there is like a thread on a similaer topic whioch may explain it, ill try find it
