ok well im looking for a bit of help. im struggling to get any sounds to sound 'professional' so to speak. i can get the base sound that im after but it just dosent sound right. im looking for what you guys do after youve made your sound in your synth, do you process it, use effects?? if so can you take us through it? i think ive come to a learning block. i can make half decent sounds in dubstep but thats about it and its shitting me to tear's . any help would be much apreciated

possible to put in a small section for just generall sales? like if someone was having trouble selling a car or something, just throw it up and and maybe someone here will take interest. if its too offtopic all good, just an idea that swam into mind

Pretty much man, We tell you to learn by ear, because bpm counters are like training wheels, they will keep you upright while they are there, but if you take them away you fall over, learn to ride with out the training wheels, and once you learn you wont forget and can ride any bike with or without trainingwheels. kind of a shitty analogy but you get what im saying yeah?

ok not to sure what your trying to say, but i can get 3 things out of this. 1st. your looking for some club like tracks that are easy to learn how to mix? good tracks to learn how to mix are ones with a very prominent kick, and not much mid ranger going on the track, a prime example is satisfaction by benny benassi. has a thumping kick and a bassline so its easy to hear the kicks when beat matching. 2nd. your looking to find some places to find good club music? if this is the case Music blogs are a great source, heard to www.hypem.com which is a search engine that searches blogs for music. or you can use digital record stores like beatport. there is plenty of them the 3rd one i got is you want to start producing(or just remixing in your case). To do a remix, your going to have to learn how to produce, which isnt a quick or easy thing to do. your firststep is finding yourself a DAW (the software which you you use to produce. examples are FL studio, Ableton, Logic, Reason.) once you have your software you need to learn how to use it. its a long process but worth it in the end, producing takes time to learn. down the track when you have producing down. to do a remix there is 2 options. 1st is to find a remix pack of the track, sometimes the record label which has signed the track will put out a remix comp, where people can download all the parts to the original and chop it up and make their remix(this way is ideal but a track rarely has a public remix pack)/ the other is to find the track you want to remix and sample straight out of the orignial (this is alot harder because say if you want the melody, but you have drums hitting behind the melody its hard to get just the melody sound with out the drums.(which is why the remix packs are extremely usefull) it can be done though. hope i answered your question. if not ive no idea what you were talkin about haha

This would go in the beginers section its where all dj questions should be asked, Cupe will move it there soon. TBH man, to help you in the long run, your better off putting some Tape over where the bpm counter is and learn to mix via ear. BPM counters will never be spot on, and if you rely on them 100% and they fail when you play live, you gonna be screwed. It will also make the transition from cdj to vinyl ALOT easier if that ever happens. you dont have to learn fully by ear but having that skill there will help you mix smoother and faster, But to answer your questions directly, no i dont know of any bpm counters, im sure if there is one though someone here will know of it.

Best place to find / buy music online
JonnyB replied to AndyTraxx's topic in Beginner DJ Tips & Tricks
you can try searching blogs. www.hypem.com < has a search engine which blogs sign up to or something and it searches all the blogs. another way is to just type the full name into google. and hopefully something pops up. if your hearing things on an online radio there could be a great chance the dj's are playing unreleased tracks, so they wont actually be anywhere. alot of the time when a dj does a live mix for a radio station he will do a shoutout to all producers asking if they have any unreleased tracks that they can throw into their mix for exposure to the track and to make their mix exiting with new material. ive heard tracks in essential mix's on radio 1 and the track wasnt released for another 6 months. -
yeah he got maninjacocle when he was like 18 and it fucked him up i think, he has scars all over him as well. imagine getting that at 18, in school, social peaking.
-
haha yeah i re read it after i posted. at first i was like '''dam, thats a bit upfront, fair, but upfront:(" jahaha
-
yeah man, you may think he has legs, but im pretty sure its all fake from the knee down. no arm either, has this hi teck hook things that he can use.
-
im guessing he still has the thumb and 3 other fingers as a thumb is not actualy a finger . i could be wrong though. theres a club in sydney called 77 with a dj called hookie, ha has no arms or legs, he dj's with hooks haha he goes fukin good too
-
