  1. darude - sandstorm public domain - operation blade. snow is fun.woop
  2. very party oriented house music, could bop my head to this mixtape for hours on end.
  3. i dont want to use software, it wouldnt feel the same as using decks 100%, thats the main reason, what it like to be behind the decks rather then behind a computer etc etc. i know im being bias, but can you blame us. although i know im reletovly save because the club i play at prtty much has the same view. only ever seen a laptop in there once and it was a dim mak dj and it was only for serato.
  4. in my honest opinion, no it is not. i am not saying this person is not talented, because he sure would be, but the point ive been trying to get across is, a dj is someone who is a disc jokey for entertainment, if someone is not using a disc, how can they call themselves a DJ? Deadmau5 is Not a Dj, he is an Entertainer. and a bloody good one, so there is no reason why someone on a laptop cant be a good entertainer, but they need to take a leaf from deamau5's book, he knows he isnt a dj, and he says he isnt a dj, but he knows he is a bloody good perfeormer which is why people go to see him,
  5. yeah but the more we accept new things, the more new things are going to be made, and soon enough, we will have people doing killer sets just by clicking a single button that chooses the correct track and drops it at the corrct time and beat matches it perfectly, with just a single click of the mouse and people will say 'yeah but it gets the crowd pumping dosent it' when it gets to this point, the dj will no longer be a dj but simply someone who plays music to a club, clubs will no longer hire the guy that spins the vinyl, because they can get the same thing out of a guy with a laptop who is bound never to make a mistake. A Dj aka a Disc Jokey AkA someone that uses turntables should stay as a DJ, the more controlled the environment gets, the further you get from the dj. people who use laptops in my opinion are not a dj, ive no problem with what they do, im sure they can crank a party, and if i go to a party and there is a guy on a laptop, i wouldnt have a care in the world if he is pumping the music but sorry mate, you a not a dj, you play music from a computer you do not spin vinyl like a Disc Jokey
  6. i agree with cbg about those hats, gets a little repdative i think add another element to the percussion after 16 bars. or even 8 like the echo on those piano hits maybe add another snare sound in the drop after 8 or so bars.

    Gday

welcome to the forums dude, another nsw person, good stuff haha. so what it like being a dj/rifleman and world class boxer?
  8. dude you dont need to learn shit. of course if you plan on using a midi it will help. but you dont need a midi, its all up to personal prefferance, e.g CBG hates the piano roll, there for uses the midi, im fine using the piano and have no need for a midi, so im fine. ive been making music for over 2 years and the only things iver ever needed was my computer, mouse and headphones, and the software on the computer of course. Dont go spending all this money if you dont need it, just start out with the basic shit, if it looks like production is up your alley, then start investing into it. other wise its money wasted on something you never needed when you could of used that money to put int something you do need.
  9. seeing your average electro dj is really fun, but seing a master like grandmaster flash z trip or atrak is just rediculous, continuesly in awe haha
  10. ztrip is amazing live, and i dig dj shadow's cd's, sampled ones of his tracks to make one of my own haha also A-trak was sick at parklife last yea,r droped this sick little 10min section of hiphop
  11. track i started at the end of last week. dont know if i havt the motivation to do anything else cept try master it. let us know what you think. http://soundcloud.com/jonny-b-music/we- ... unmastered
  12. ok well the reason why most people are oposed to it is because, in most cases, using more technology is widely accepted and more so encouraged, but with djing i think its kind of the oposite, the more analog and awat from the digital age you get, the better. the main reason i hav a problem with it is, not so much having a problem with it, but not understanding why you wouldnt want to use cdj's or more so vinyl in th first place, its so much finner anyway./ thats just my view, i dont actually have a problem with people using it. i just never personaly would. For $4000 are you looking to include a speaker set up in that?
  13. gday govener.
  14. welcome to the forums, what type of set up were you looking for. oh yeh, almost forgot......

  21. need your help yo. doing a 2.5 hour disco opening set on sunday, and you obviously dug monnshilds stuff, can you name some artists that do similar stuff, think im going to do 1 hour 30min of disco then an hour of jacking house,
  22. read the first post and thats about it. my view. pretty agree 100%. i think traktor is a neat little program on the basis of vinyl costs something like $20 each where as an mp3 is alot cheaper, as well as this mp3 is alot more mobile. id like to see it come without the autobpm feature though, id like the option to not even be there. also dont really have a problem with people suing vdj either, but just a question to those people that do, dont you wish to challenge yourself a bit more? i understand some people use it because they cant afford decks yet, but to the people that do have the cash, give yourself a challenge, learn the original way, its a shit load funner to do as well.!
  23. cant remember it off the top of my head, but i know pretty much all of hijacks smaples are fomr records from the 30's from his dads collection and other shit he finds.
  24. yeah man already got the Massive EP. loving it hey
