we were lucky. our good mates had just got themselves a resedency at candy's and me and the guy i dj with now said to each other 'if either of us get a gig in the city, we will do it as 2 people for the first few gigs just to get over the nerves haha anyway a month or so down the track at HEAT at the bourbon(run by candy's at the time) my mate got himself a mixtape together and approuched the promotoer with a our friend that already dj'd there. i wasnt there at the time, was getting loose on the DF, but the guy said dont worry about the mixtape, ill take your friends word for it, call me on tuesday for your first gig. and it went from there and weve done every gig together since and weve just stuck together, worked our way onto music people(the booking agency) and now we are on Vamp music(the record label type thing within music people) got our first gig at chinese laundry this weekend too

if someone is playing interstate their airfairs would be paid for by the promotors getting paid for the gig would be seperate paying for airfairs and shit makes gigs alot more enticing for the dj

i guess it was a massive let down becaue there was SO MUCH ype about it. like it wasnt bad or anything, it just wasnt amazing, i watched grand master flash a few hours before him and would much rather watch grand master flash's set over etienne de crecy again
