its way better as far as i know, ive had my scond hand mac for 2 years and have not had a single problem with it, hasnt costed me a single cent, no having to buy anti virus software etc etc. they are more expensive for a reason yo thats not to say PC are shit, im sure they also do great, i just prefer the mac

some programs that are soely for producing music are Logic Pro FL Studio's Abelton live(also for live performances but great for producing as well) Reason Acid Pro + a few others as far as gigs go the 2 main things are networking and a mixtape. start talking to heaps of promoters other dj's and what not, send out mixtapes to those people and other peope that can give you gigs. research a bit on the club and make sure its where you want to play. as for playing heaps of genre's or just 1 you will have to become fluint in a few similar genre's. E.G if you played at an electro club youd have to know how to play disco incase you opened the night, ghetto party/upbeat dance for the set after that before you can really start banging your electro out. but if you plan on making music and sart getting hired for the music you make, just say you make dubstep and you rock up to a show and start playing prog house, peoples are going to be pissed off because they expected dubstep etc etc. yeah Macbook is pretty much king dude, dont fight it.

i dont necacerrily agree with your comment about choosing a dj name that isnt offenceive. plenty of dj's have offence refrences in their names and are massive and dont cop any slack for it. e.g Fukk Offf from germany.....how much ruder can you get then someones name bieng FUCK OFF!. and this dude is killing it. another one, 'Designer drugs' its reffereing straight to drugs. they are also killing it. another being 'FuntCase' a big name in the dubstep game on the heavier end of the spectrum i guess when your going to be booked for birthdays your right. but you want to choose a name that is perfect because your going to want to have it the whole way from zero to hero. if you change your name halfway through youll loose alot of followers etc etc. obviously meaning WHALE Face.

thought a thread for video's of you people playing out would be cool. some friends took some footage of the harbour cruise i played on today, it was the loosest crowd ive played to by far, people crowd surfing and shit. will try and track down some of the footage asap
