well i no the ddj's cost about that (depending on which one) so this was the plan, i used to play violin and got pretty good but ended up giving it up so i still hav 2 of my previous violins and was planning on selling them to use the money i would get (around $1500) to buy what i need with my parents saying depending on how much it was paying the rest as a combination of bday and/or christmas present but now mums become all sentimental about it and doesnt want me to sell them so its going to take me longer than i had thought to get the money but i wasnt set on ddj wateva just wondering on wat u's all thought bout it well basically, you will deffinatly learn the fundementals and what not on the DDJ, which in the end, is all you need, so you wont REALLY be short changed getting them. i watched a youtube video on it and it pretty much seems like a cdj setup all morphed into 1 anyway but as weve been saying getting a cdj set up will put you that step ahead on becoming a more versitile dj and being alot more comfortable on the club standard set ups these days, but in the end its what you think you will feel comfortable on, and making sure you get quality gear and not some 3rd party substitue for half the price

alot of top producers dont. i seen rusko's set up a few years back and he had like a 10yr old pc i couldnt see any sign of decent monitors, he had a mic and an old midi controlller, im sure he has probaly upgraded but back then he was still making sick tunes on that set up.

pretty much wht karma said, cool guy, great intentions.....but its like you have selective reading (not hearing) where not just a bunch of guys who just started as well, some of have been playing in clubs for a few years and some have been djing on the side for 10+ years as veterans etc etc. we know our shit -
iron maiden are the fucking kings man
-
monitors, a comfortable as fuck chair,
-
this, dont use autosync, learn to beat match by ear
-
Or if you want 'bang for your buck', try to the Mdex trololol
-
seems pretty good for its price actually, i mean you may pick up a fullsetup of say 400's second hand for a similar price, or something better if your lucky. would seem like it could be a pain to take places, and if 1 cdj breaks does that mean the whole thing is broken? thats the main reason ive never liked all in 1 things, with say 2 cd's and a mixer, if one thing breaks, the other 2 wont be comprimised or anything.

and so long as its pioneer, then your safe. trust nothing else haha.

i can see where your coming from sol, but seriously, their is no substitue for quality man, especially in this industry, you dont see clubs setting up a MDex 3 because its 'better bang for your buck' there is a reason why EVERY, SINGLE, CLUB, IN, THE, WORLD will use pinoner......because it shits on everything, litterally shits on everything, wipes its arse on everything, then sleeps with everythings wife. maybe do a review on the MPEX 3, but dont try and convince people that its a better substitue or better for your money product then a pinoeer product, because youll find almost no one that will agree with you, and people will be ALOT more ruder on youtube to you then andyman was. you need to think this stuff through more my man -
look in the sale threads on this forum, pople like eggsell are always posting up really cheap finds on ebay, i think chevchelious found a full vinyl set up for like 3-400, think one of the TT's needed a new cartridge or something but other then that was fine. main thing is just dont jump in and buy something, sit bak for a few months reading up on things ad watching EBay and youll end up finding yourself a awesome deal!

vinyl and traktor 2 is what i want cupe ill trade you? haha

please dont man. dont see the point in getting a shirt made untill your big enough to be labelled a brand. if you do it as an up and commer it gives you th image of 'im the fucking balls, im so good i wear my own merch' makes you look like an ego. not saying your any of these but ive seen people do it and fuck i just want to slap them and say WAKE UP....YOUR JUST A RESIDENT DJ, NOT A FUIN SUPERSTAR. not having a go at your or anything. do it if you want, just warning you of what people may think and say to you. Yeah i'd probably laugh at you. I'd laugh. i'd tell you to come at me bro. what would you do if i came at you, with a FRESH as fuck beer, and a kebab, would i be safe?

chev isnt a big fan of the whole 'brostep' movement. doubt im gonna go, like his music, i can just tell the night is going to be a sess pit, shoulder to shoulder with 200 sweaty whales. wont find it fun
