what type of vowel bass are ya after mate? the only one ive really mastered is the 'yoy' the one in get the fuck out of my house was made by the other guy i do it with, he made that track buy himself. ill try do a basic video this weekend and chuck it up on youtube on how to make the vowel bass's i use....

love threads like this, i came into the dubstep scene just as stanton warriors bought where's my money to good vibes in 08 i think? and although ive followed it closely since then, digging the way its changed in every way, the robo stuff, the chilled stuff the grimey stuff. also love looking back past 08 to where it had come from and stuff alike. so please keep this page going, my knowledge of actual dubstep music dosent go back much further then 06/07. like i know where and how it originated and some of the producers that were around before that, just dont know the good tunes from then. so please keep the posting going

well yeah but you get the point haha

the way i pretty much mix at the moment is have only 1 track playing through the headphones, and have the booth monitor at a volume that is the same as the headphones. so i will have one earphone off and one on, say my left ear listning to the incoming track and the left ear listning to the booth monitor, and having it so they sound like they are at the same voluime so 1 isnt over powering, and thats how i beat match, i find it easier to get it all in time and distinguish the individual kicks etc etc.

this track isnt heavy either, and its the version of the track before it was released and changed (either that or its someones remake???? not sure) but there is a comment in it that discribes the intro perfectly 'A man driving a 1963 impala across the brooklyn bridge at night in the year 2044'

thought this for a long time, mentioned in a few threads 'didnt know i was posting on itm' no one really took much notice though. i dont think derailing should be a highley policed thing so long as it isnt taking the piss on anyone, if its all in good fun and isnt directed towards anyone and the question has allready been answered, why not keep talking ?

i dunno if thats how it actually goes, thats just how i catagorise it all. its my own rule, dunno how well it applies to the industry

my general rule. a remix - officialy done for a label or given rights by the producer. A bootleg - an un official remix, someone who has just taken the original/instrumental/acapella and made what sounds like a proper remix, but had no rights to do so, but isnt making money off it so its cool. an edit - someone just choping up an original track or putting a diffrent style drum beat behind it (e.g party rock anthem (swiss breaks edit) mashup - taking 2 tracks, and blending thm together

although i do obviously give off the impression i am one of those guys that cashed in on skrillex etc ect, i do love my dubstep from before it was all heavy. here are some of my favorites.
