  3. yeah man will be good fun. also if anyone plans to come, let me know and ill chuck you on the guestlist, think it may be cheaper entry, im not sure, no idea what guestlists do these days
  4. will be doing a transition set, so playing heavy electro tracks or tracks that dubstep producers have made as a 130bpm electro track, then transitioning to drumstep then to dubstep No big bangers though cause thats terravitas job
  5. nice one, got his own sound which is sick. whos it signed too? nice track!
  6. Hey guys. This Saturday night at the Arthouse If anyone is around in sydney come along. Got my first big set time playing right after Hot Pink Delorane on the mainstage with Terravita playing right after me. a little nervous but should be wicked fun!.
  7. Work in progress, would love a bit of feedback on what i got at the moment http://soundcloud.com/swissdub/dead-wrong-notorious-b-i-g
  8. I thought what I saints pretty spot on. I said there isnt many that make it purely through djing. I didn't day there was none. And if you look at the overall stats you can't deny a large majority of them are their thanks to their production. And I agree with you on the whole Festival thing. I was just stating if you want to go beyond the club scene the beat way is to make a hit track. I didnt say it was the right/fairest Way. But there is no denying that is how it's being done these days. My OP was about not being sucked in to the fame . And do war you love. Gandy made a comment above Somewhere which sums it up perfectly which I'll quote and I I was able to would rep
  9. i never met him, but the guy i played with did, he seemed nice enough, had a smoke with him out the front then when they went back in made sure the security guards didnt touch him, but then my mate fucked up and accidently ankle tapped his girlfriend who ate shit (this is no word of a lie haha) and he didnt get angry understood it was an accident, so i guess he cant be a bad person? hijack is super nice though,
  10. being a big dj has nothing to do with djing, it has to do with producing, how many superstar dj's got to wear they were from djing? a few that came through the DMC world championships, Grandmasterflash. AJAX is probaly australia's biggest dj that dosent produce, and he rarely goes over seas to play. Produce, go mainstream, and you will become famous. or you could dj because you simply like playing music you like to people that like listening to it. dont do it for the fame sol, do it for the love. i remember Hijack (a big jackin house/fidget) producer/dj said, and i can vouch for this because ive played with him, Hed much rather play a tiny room to people that love his music then to a hall to people that just want to rave to anything. When i supported kissy sell out and hijack, hijack requested to play in the tiny sideroom alongside us smaller name dj's, which would fit no more then 100 people, oposed to the main room which could probaly hold 700 (this was at Home Nightclub) /rant

  12. if your taking your own set up, id stick with the 35 n hour but ask for an extra 50 or 100 for transporting and setting up gear plus wear and tear on your own gear, its costing you money to use your equiptment.
  13. i used to have problems on my old pc macbook when id have 4 versions of massive open. on the mac, me and a mate had a collaboration going that had 70 seperate tracks, around 40 synths. didnt crash once get macs

    Hello

never a dull moment on this forum man most of the shenanigans happens in off topic but if you make a post int he right forum im sure you will get a few responses with in the hour
  20. actually it was 150 an hour, but there was 2 of us, so we got 75 ussually, was always awesome when we get a 1.5 hour set and the other couldnt play, a cheeky $225
  21. not playing in the cross really anymore, doing the odd dubstep gig for the boys at Vamp music at the arthouse, i attemd Starfuckers every now and then cause my 2 best mates are their 2 new residents. mainly play down in wollongong now living over in crows nest, just over the bridge
  22. yeah $50 an hour is stoke standard i think, and it onluy goes up when you become a night headliner - main support act. when i was doign my electro thing i went to the main night headliner and was on about 115 an hour, but now im doing dubstep im back on 50, its hard haha
  23. JonnyB

    Hello

    welcome mannn
  24. this and post a mix
  25. used cd's for 2 years, used usb for the first time tonight linked up with rekord box, and im sold, can sort all your songs into playlist folders, so have them split into genre's (for me, dubstep, glitch hop, drumstep, hiphop all in diffrent folder) also tells you track tempo and you can save cue points.(doubt ill ever use them though) beats buying cd's all the time, especially for me as my laptops burner is shot and wont burn anymore
