i can see where your coming from man, i really can, but no i dont agree, what your talking about is your own personal opinion, not how it actually is. i am probaly what you would call a 'nu dubstep' dj and yes people dance to it, and they fucking love it. and the fans of it are diffrent because its diffrent music. its the more angry version. which appeals to the younger crowd, its kind of like when the punk/hardcore scene started off, you had all these massive rock groups, then these small punk bands started forming like the dead kennady's and bad brains which was for the more angry younger crowd, and i dare say the older crowd from the rock scene would of been thinking 'wtf is this, this isnt music' to be honest they are 2 diffrent genre's but sadely they have been hit with the same name, which is why i think so many people that grew up with the original dubstep hate the new stuff so much, because you hear it and think 'wait what the fuck, this isnt dubstep, how dare they' Ive seen it all to many time on the dubstep.com forum. which is why i dont go there anymore. just because you dont like it, dosent mean it is terrible or shit. i liked every song you linked, eventhe tristam track. i also like skream, benga, kryptic minds and mala, just to point out. i understand your rant, but i dont agree with it. people like different things man

For anyone who knows anything about snowboarding, one of the best riders in the world is Torstein horgmo. He also produces dubstep so thought id give a bootleg of one of his tracks a go. Its a WIP at the moment, my plans are to add a few more bass fills to the first drop and make the second drop have alot more of a heavier slower feel to it with some slow roaring bass's and shit like that. its just a copy of the first drop at the moment http://soundcloud.com/swissdub/presser-torstien-swiss-dub

if you want cheap and in the center of the action Formula 1 hotel is right next to the big Coke sign in kings cross and reletivly cheap, fucking basic rooms but, like real basic you could try the cambridge hotel, not that cheap though

heavy shit man! cant really give too much feedback on the quality as im on laptop speakers, but the sounds are heavy, i dig them, they just may be over powering the drums a little bit. not much though. al in all good work man!

i can vouch for nadastrom pioneering mommbahton, i remember watching one of his sets maybe 3 years ago and he was droping it then and i was just thinking 'how the fuck did he slow this song down with out losing quality) obviously now its mombahton edits. Mombahcore is kind of like the dubstep brother of mombahton, it dosent have the doutch house synth's and are often remix's of dubstep tracks.

i wouldnt call drumstep dubstep mainly because its generally a full 20-30bpm faster? i mean get a house track, pump that up to 155, your not going to call it hosue are you? even if all the sounds are the same

excision 2008 shambalah is one of the only mix's i keep in my itunes. that and rusko's essentials and jack beats essential.

Don't do that! yes sir!. may i ask why? i achally do it 20khz. not 19. havnt dont too much on music theory at all but isnt anything over 20khz out of our frequency range and just a waste of energy?

im not 100% sure, my take on it is a mix of glitch hop and dubstep e.g the 2 tracks i posted only named it that because in one of those tracks the artist named it club step

Post embeded video's/soundclouds to your favorite tracks which fall under the catagory in the title. I know their is a TOTD thread, but this will be narrowed down to these select genre's which all fit well together in a set. It will be good for current users to expand their knowledge on fresh tracks. and if someone is just coming to the scene or has to do a set with these genre's they can come to this thread and get a fuckload of fresh tracks so they dont come to a wall trying to find tracks. I think maybe one of these threads should go in the electro and the house sub forums. or any other that gets a bit of use.

how do you guys master your tracks? im still extremely amature at it. but basically what i do is add a EQ and cut off everything below 23hz and everything above 19-20khz, add a compressor, then a limiter and then a level meter, switch the metering to RMS and post gain in limiter untill the RMS is peaking at -10db. This is all after ive done the mixdown which peaks at around -6db sometimes a bit more
