hey guys, this will be a thread similar to chev's on ableton, but for logic. basically if you have any hints, tips, or questions, throw them in here for everyone who uses logic to learn or give knowledge to make us all better at navigating logic First up i have 2 questions as ive only just recently got it. how do i do sidechain compression. and in FL studio there is a thing called edision. basically you can just put a wave file in and sample any part or that wave file you wanted. what would be there logic equivelant. ONCE LAST THING. it is not on my laptop yet, we have just been playing around with it on a mates. when i go to install logic, it says my mac software needs to be upgraded, so when i go to download and install the newer version it just stops midway through installing and dosent move. anyone know whats up? cheers

i went through some shocking ones when i started. just settled on my real name and when i joined up with a mate we just used the name he had. dont really care for names much nosw

yeah man, mixing decks and production are completly diffrent, but learning one will only benefit you when you learn they other, things will learn from one will rub off onto the other E.G when you start djing, youll start to learn the structure of tracks in the genre you start mixing(guessing the same genre youll be producing) because youll be analyzing the tracks to know where to drop them and so on, youll work out how long intro's ussualy go for etc etc etc. then when you start producing you already know the generall idea of the structure your going to use and yeah like chev said, dont hesitate to ask
-
welcome to the forums mate, anywhere we can sample your production? what kind of tunes you into?
-
its kind of an american/canadian thing. just look up US and canadian producers the uk scene is alot more grimier dubstep, US is robotic id like to see if australia gets its own style cranking
-
yeah man its the only break i have haaha i slut it so so much. im just going to change a few little things, make the bassline a little less repedative, like add a few fills.. but youll deff have a copy haha. might send it out to some blogs haha
