Clip automation is what puts ableton into a whole league of its own, I'd pretty much be lost without it. Unfortunately you cant turn effects off for individual clips, but you can automate parameters so the signal is just passing through and being unaffected. What you do is go to the clip view in the bottom browser and on the left there is the clip options, down the bottom of that section there will be a little "E" button, toggle it and the "Envelopes" section will appear, from then on its like normal automation in the arrangement. For the pingpong just automate the dry/wet so its completely dry, and for the EQ its a bit trickier, but just adjust the gain until the is no boost/attenuation. Alternatively you can just dup the track and turn the effects off, or automate the effects on and off in the arrange.

If you wanna clean it up a bit, try some multiband compression, and boost the highs a fuck load to get it to bite through the mix a bit inniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. In all honesty your not gonna stand out from the pack if you're just tryin to copying the big names, you'll just end up another one of the average producers out there. Spend less time copying, and more time creating. Just my humble opinion though.

Just a suggestion, you should probably find somewhere to exhibit your examples that doesn't compress for playback, soundcloud compresses to 192kbps, pretty detrimental to the quality... jussayin'

Straight tone arms wearing records is more or less a myth man. I was looking S tone arm stantons too but I settled for straights, dont regret it at all, as long as you set your cart on an angle so its with the groove, its no different, it also doesn't get in your way as much when you're pitching.

If you've got the macros, then you've grouped the drum rack and the auto filter together. Ungroup them and you should be able to map what you want, if they're grouped for a reason, parallel processing or whatever, then you could just assign whatever parameters you want to control by clicking map mode in the macro window, click the parameter, then click the map button under which ever macro pot you want to assign it to.

My go to for bass atm, that albino. Rob Papen plugs just have the fattest sine wave ever, apart from a legit 808.
