  1. such an impractical size. Price tag.......... 1 billion dollars
  2. Funky bizness
  3. Pannin gis definately essential with drums, especially with cymbals and perc. I like to picture a drum set on a stage, you look at it, hats on the right, ride on the left and kind of pan it so its how you are looking at it, if that makes sense, its all about putting something it is own space, so you pan the hats slighty right, not a set rule and there is always room for experimenting, but I like to do that just for a base point. Panning is also really helpful for your mixdown, makes shit clearer. As far as effects go, flanging is good, phasing, downsampling or bit crushing for some tone colour, but my favourite thing to do is use the subtile stereo preset in abletons auto pan, gives it some nice movement. And of course groove, you cant beat groove
  4. yeah sydney, but might be goin up to brisbane though, still undecided.
  5. Dunno...... maybe *shifty eyes*
  6. Fee help for the win
  7. Yeah Im im applying for the bachelor at the moment
  8. My mate went to the open day there and said that everyting you do in the EMP course is taught in the first year of the bachelor. True?
  9. Pros: -PHat kick yo -Love that building b line -Like those like atomspheric thangs in that first break/build thing -Funky drop! Love it -Nice switch on the second, mad pitch bend skittles -Reaaly like that glitch bassline, almost slapping sound Cons: -Not much other than the meh vocal editing, kind of same old for me but its not just you its the entire genre Pretty large dig from me, good luck in the comp mang
  10. touche
  11. Pretty much if you've heard excision and datsik you've heard it all cause it all sounds the same, evry single clip of transformers has been sampled over and over by every producer doing that style. Check out a guy called nit grit on soundcloud though, similar style but i like his stuff, nice melodies and shit, a lot of its free too which is cool.
  12. BAN HAMMER THE CHEATING FUCKER!
  13. Welcome mang. SAE?
  14. Definately happening, check out guys like boot, sook (the abyss, both of them), droid sector and phonetic system, kind of like robot shit but dark imo, lots of nuero basslines ( I think thats the word )
  15. Definately the right spot for this track, very prog. I love percussion tracks, you should check out a guy named shackleton by the way, he does heaps of percussion based tracks, cept at 140 Pros: -Like the huge kick, but beware when you make a track with more elements going on reverb on a kick can put your track in some serious mud, because reverb and low end dont really go well together. -Liked how you kept it interesting the whole time, little switch ups and stuff. -That second perc line buzzin round your head is nice, makes your head roll round in circles Cons: -For a track like this there is so much you can do with, and I really like a massive bridge for something like this, just constantly building and build, modulatung and changeing. Thats what I think you should do, build on that bridge cause its too short for my likes, up to you though. -The second drop is good for like 8 bars I think it needs more done to it to keep it moving, you know. Overall, I like were its going.... WERD
  16. DJing and production are completely different ball games and both require time and practice, but by all means go for it if you have the cash and its something you really want to do, there can be no harm done. Feel free to ask anymore questions if you have them
  17. If you want cdjs and you want to scratch, go with 800s, 400 platters are way too tiny, but yeah ideally turntables would be best for scratching. You dont do that on decks Welcome to ADJF
  18. right then, maybe you'd want some krk 6" s then, apparently they are pretty bass heavy, which is probably what you want instead of flat response, KRKs seem to be choice fpr most bedroom DJs
  19. pfft robots... See the top three albums/compilations, get your hands on all of those, pretty much the whole list of albums actually, that'll kill your wallet but its serious good shit
  20. yeah he got 3rd in best up and coming producer I think.
  21. Right Here: http://www.dubstepforum.com/awards/index.html Joker = Best producer of the year. Not my vote but still good stuff Some questionable descisions in there for me, but it was a community vote so meh. If your lookin at getting into dubstep that is the place to, good artist gallore
  22. Ideally you would want the HS80m's, bigger the cone better the response and these speakers have a really flat response, not sure how much they go for for the pair but if its out of your price range you can get the HS50m's same speakers but only a 5" cone. Those fostexs look decent but I haven't really heard much about them. Are you getting these for production, or DJ monitoring in your bedroom?
  23. get yamahas
