Logic Pro 9 - Processing / Inserts question
ChevChelios replied to LabRat's topic in Music Production
With Logic it goes from top to bottom as its a visual based signal flow, pretty sure all DAWs are like that except Live cause it doesn't have channel strips. Also what order you put your processors is of extreme importance because it dictates how the sounds is processed. Always EQ before compression, its an absolute must do because if you dont, your compressor is working way too hard on frequencies, like <100Hz, when for most signals your just gonna end up cutting it out anyway. My standard signal flow is EQ, Comp, and then another EQ sometimes. First EQ is only for cutting only, second EQ is for boosting if I want to accentuate harmonics or whatever. and limiter always last or else if pretty much defeats the purpose of using it, although I wouldn't be too heavy handed with using limiters on all your channels or else you'll end up with a pretty lifeless track. -
Sugar Bytes Wow is definitely a must have in your kit, perfect for making ya serious growl bass, but you can make some other fuckin weird shit. Many loves for it.

Skream remix is still allowed? lol What Skream remix?

Yeah, since Dubstep hit the mainstream. Although new tracks that pay homage to the oldschool heavy are cool

Those last two definitely dont belong in here, way too new, way to wobblecore

Still yet to enter the mysterious chatroom, am I missing out?

Resonance is just EQ gain, so when you boost your bell curve, thats increasing resonance I just use Live's auto filter, unless I'm doing some weird sweeps. Fun thing to do, get 3 or 4 bandpass filters and set them to small bands across the spectrum and automate each one individually, helps when your filter has an LFO function which most do these days, you can make some cool effects.

I got an original press of the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack... not really worth much, but still a lot of rad disco tunes on dere I have like 2 or 3 crates of old shit like that in storage, might have to go scope it out and fill dis fred. -
Talent will always get noticed man, give it time and the followers will come. Also don't forget that soundcloud followers doesn't equal fame/talent, there are so many people out there that are amazingly talented, yet they barely have any followers, and even more people in the opposite scenario

Have your interface plugged in with a mic setup, open ableton and create a new audio track, then in the I/O section of the audio track, click the drop down menu for "audio from" and select the appropriate input from the list, the make sure you set the track to input instead of auto, click the arm button and you should be good to go. If your inputs dont show up in the drop down menu, you probably haven't configured your hardware, just click "configure" in the menu and follow the prompt thangys.

Bummer man, unfortunately Live doesn't save periodic back ups (pro-tools does ) So unless bounced all your tracks to separate audio tracks, you can get it back. If you did however do that, then all your old audio would still be in your audio folder in the projects folder.
