i have a weastern digital HD the first one fucked up and the second one hasnt failed yet but im babying it dont wanna loose like 500gigs of music, movies and porn but deffinately get to as for you egg shell generally you load the songs you know you will play and analise them in traktor/serato then yeah have the unpowered HD for backup as well as CDs and a few USB sticks with songs on em never hurts to have wil one day pay off

This really is abit weird i know with the xone 22s when you engage the filter it clicks/pops noticably but dont know much more on it bar that sorry mate maybe go through the instructions on the filter see if maybe you moved a knob and it cut it out or something might be something simple dude
