What a night we have in store coming up on Saturday the 2nd of March headlined by Huxley (UK) & What So Not (Flume & Emoh Instead) the buzz on this one is already massive !! The Mantra Collective will be hosting the Cave which is we have arguably one of the hottest names in house HUXLEY , having delivered releases for an enviable roster of labels (Tsuba, Morris Audio, Fear of Flying, Hypercolour and 20:20 Vision for starters) and has stayed true to his robust, bass-led strain of house music that reflects his formative interests in UK and US Garage, with critics, punters and peers lapping up each release and remix. As a remixer Huxley is hugely in demand, turning his hand to major label talents with as much flair and skills as he does underground cornerstones like Like Burridge or Maya Jane Coles. Completing the picture is his Djing – another perfect string to his bow that sees him tour his open minded and deftly programmed music selections in clubs and festivals across the world on a weekly basis. In the Laundry we have headlining the crazy duo of FLUME & Emoh Instead .. WHAT SO NOT as part of their massive universe tour , what more can you say about these two that you dint already know , they are the business ! Hailing from the sandstone bedrock that is Sydney, this duo (one half skyrocketing electronic act FLUME, one half flaming dj rockett EMOH INSTEAD) is the fresh face Australia's beloved 'Sweat it Out' & voice of the ADD generation. Released in Mid November 2011, their debut 4 track EP '7 Dollar Bill' caused quite a stir; Switch, Bag Raiders, Sinden, Boys Noize & countless others, all on board for this new sound. 2012 has seen an onslaught of epic remix's from the pair. Most notably their mix of Major Lazer's 'Get Free'. Gaining the attention of Flosstradamus, Nero & Diplo himself, their future bass rework, scored them official 12" Vinyl release on Mad Decent/Downtown With the who's who of EDM dropping their tunes on BBC Radio 1 & every major festival around the globe, don't be surprised if you see the WSN boys coming to a town near you Full Line Up Huxley (UK) What So Not ( Flume & Emoh Instead) A-Tonez Fingers Bella Sarris Jace Disgrace Katie Valentine Whitecat Antoine Vice About Jack King Lee Athson Drink specials from 9pm till 11pm Links to check out Huxley http://www.facebook.com/huxleyofficial?fref=ts https://soundcloud.com/huxley_uk What so Not http://www.facebook.com/whatsonot?fref=ts https://soundcloud.com/whatsonot A-Tonez http://www.facebook.com/atonezdj?fref=ts https://soundcloud.com/a-tonez

Saturday 16th February we have one of our favourite Techno artists retruning to play for us again in the Cave … MARCELL DETTMANN playing a 3 hour set Last time Marcell Dettmann played for us he played in one of our most talked about Garden Parties alongside fellow German Ben Klock & then again at the after party in what was a very memorable night Marcell Dettmann Ruff, rugged and raw. Mentioning Marcel Dettmann as well as his feeling for and vision of electronic music, his way of dealing with it, is impossible without these attributes. Whether you take his DJ sets (Marcel has been made a resident DJ at the old Ostgut and also at Berghain from the very start), Dettmann’s productions for the self-conducted MDR label, his remixes for the likes of Fever Ray, Junior Boys, Modeselektor as well as Scuba, or if nothing else his debut long player for Ostgut Ton into account, all the various contrasts and distinctions that come with it are manifested in these qualities. Techno as Marcel Dettmann defines it, is neither a movement without history nor wistful nostalgia. In the hands of the Berliner, the well-known game of hi-hats, bass lines and kick drums draws its tension and momentum from a historically grown tradition and the conscious decision to break the rules. Reformation and solid construction outplays the use of any gimmicks. Dettmann pours Detroit’s oil into European engines, puts British bass music under the control of Chicago’s very own Jack, cuts classics with abstract nuances and connects yesterday with tomorrow and today. In the unrelenting manner of a great DJ, he generates moods and connections that are age- and classless, but never irrelevant or tasteless. Marcel Dettmann links up the art of improvisation with careful preparation and finally gives techno some of its often painfully missed serious physical constitution back. Full Line Up Cave Marcell Dettmann Andosound Laundry U-Khan Ya Jokin Front To Back J-Mac Sand Bar Fingers King Lee Ra Bazarr Doors Open 9pm Drink Specials from 9pm til 11pm Links to check out Marcell Dettmann http://www.facebook.com/marceldettmannofficial?fref=ts https://soundcloud.com/platform/marcel- ... min-boiler https://soundcloud.com/marceldettmann

Friday 15th Feb Calyx & Teebee are bringing their 6 Decks and 2 Mixers B2B show to Bass Mafia @ Chinese Laundry This is going to easily be one of the Drum n Bass highlights of 2013 & is one of the most anticipated upcoming tours To drum & bass fans the world over the names Calyx and TeeBee are synonymous with high quality, perfectly sculpted music. Just as Michelangelo discovered statues in blocks of stone, so Calyx and TeeBee discovered the essence of D&B locked away in studio equipment; always forward-thinking and packed with as much integrity as energy; their music has had an impact on the scene for over fifteen years. Set Times Laundry 10:00- Capture 11:30 - Vertigo 01:00 - CALYX & TEEBEE (UK) 02:30 - DJ Celsius Cave 11:00 - Zodiac 12:30 - Nemo 02:00 - Turnt Up Doors open 10pm Drink Specials from 10pm til 11pm While Calyx & TeeBee's first collaborations emerged in 2004, their history and friendship dates back to 1998 when they were introduced as label-mates of the legendary Moving Shadow imprint. In the following years the two artists accumulated astounding solo back-catalogues of releases on a glittering array of D&B's most respected labels. When Calyx and TeeBee finally decided it was time to work together in the studio, the first tracks they produced ('Follow The Leader' and 'Cyclone') were highly acclaimed by the music press. Both tracks featured on Calyx's debut album 'No Turning Back' and were picked up by Rockstar who used them as the soundtrack for a global TV campaign advertising the colossal 'Midnight Club' computer games series. Following this huge joint success Calyx and TeeBee produced one of the landmark releases of 2006: 'The Quest' released on TeeBee's renowned Subtitles label. In the same year the pair also penned 'The Shape Of Things To Come' for Renegade Hardware's 10 year anniversary album before deciding to embark on the long journey of producing a collaborative album. Now officially a duet Calyx & TeeBee launched Momentum Music which marked its first release with their debut long player. The 'Anatomy' LP proved to be one of the most highly anticipated albums in D&B for years, gaining massive support from the scene's big players and topping sales charts for months. 'Anatomy' was a game changer, and following its release Calyx & TeeBee decided to embark on non-stop tours across the globe, venturing into joint DJ sets featuring 6 decks and 2 mixers with both DJs in action simultaneously. Meanwhile the duo started to lay groundwork for their follow-up LP which would see them take five years to complete. Fast forward to 2012 and Calyx & TeeBee are now set to unveil the kaleidoscopic array of new music that they have been building up in that time. Embracing the new possibilities that the bass music revolution has opened up, Calyx & TeeBee's current musical perspective covers a range of styles and sounds that threaten to change the game once again. Their sophomore album is set for release on Ram Records, arguably the biggest and most respected drum & bass label in the world and a leading light in the multi-genre bass music scene. After the worldwide hit “El baile alemán” (Liebe Detail, 2009) produced along his friend Coyu and appointed "Best Underground Track of the Year" by Beatport , several tracks for lauded labels like Get Physical, Young Turks, Skint, Stil vor Talent, Cr2, Noir Music, Trapez, Great Stuff, Diynamic and his own label Eklektisch. His quality as a producer and his ability to add a nu-disco tint to the dancefloor edge of his tracks have led him to remix bands such as The XX showcasing this homogenous blend of electronica, house and indie. Succesful remixes for Maya Jane Coles and X-Press 2 also ensued. The emergence of Edu Imbernon on the dance scene couldn't go by unnoticed by the specialised press which has acknowledged his artistic quality by awarding him several prizes: Best New Producer 2010 and Best Track 2010 and 2011 at the Spanish Dance Music awards, and also named an up-and-coming star by Beatport in 2010.His aim is to make music that can be felt, full of energy which will connect with his audiences. "This is the only way that people will remember your music, trying to make them feel something special and making them dance” says this young artist who's already played on 4 continents Bio - Maxxi Sound System Before the runaway success of club hit ‘Criticize’ which exploded everywhere at the beginning of 2011 from Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show to being featured on Beats in Space Best of 2010 Sam Watts had been DJing, putting on parties and working hard in his studio for a number of years in his home town of Brighton. Remixes in 2011 have also been flying out for the like of Hercules & Love Affair, The 2 Bears and Parallel Dance Ensemble the latter which hit the #1 spot on Beatport’s indie dance chart.
