  3. Chinese Laundry are extremely excited to have one of the hottest artists in Australia headline this months Boss Bass WAVE RACER Twenty One year old Tom Purcell is WAVE RACER– a 64-bit freak riding a jet ski into the Sydney horizon. Taking cues from cross-continental club sounds and gold-plated production standards, Purcell’s blend of pixelated future-funk is fast taking Australia by storm. From mind-bending Jersey Club anthems to a sun-drenched take on modern Hip Hop instrumentals, his sound is often (and best) described as driving down Mario Kart’s Rainbow Road to the club of your dreams. Having just released his double-A single ‘Stoopid/Rock U Tonite’ and a remix for Ghost Town DJs ‘My Boo’ Wave Racer is now amongst the most rotated artists on Australian national broadcaster Triple J whilst appearing on BBC Radio 1 and topping the indicative Hype Machine charts at #2. 8. Sat 21st September Chinese Laundry hosts Claptone, a masked artist making serious noise in the tech house/disco/deep house world. Nobody really knows much about the mysterious German DJ who hides behind a long pointed mask, but the music surely speaks for itself, with #1 hit Cream and the deep house follow up ‘Night on Fire’ gaining them worldwide acclaim, and a hefty list of supporters, including A-Trak, Riva Starr, Claude Von Stroke, Jesse Rose, and Annie Mac and Pete Tong, who named Claptone ‘Future Star of 2013′... Links to check out https://soundcloud.com/claptone https://www.facebook.com/claptone.official Full lineup: Ember A-Tonez Katie Valentine Whitecat vs U-Khan Space Junk About Jack Antoine Vice Front To Back Fingers GG Magree King Lee Claptone Bio: In a now long forgotten world, many generations ago, a bird like shape emerged from wooded darkness, floating and fluttering, drifting and dreaming. Backlit by a bright glow of iridescent light, the undecipherable form wore a dazzling golden mask. Its long beak swooped down like an inverted horn and since then, people have referred to the mythical being simply as Claptone. Years spending wandering medieval landscapes have informed Claptone’s view of the world, experi- encing both magical mystery and muted melancholy he enchanted onlookers with occult instruments and beguiling sounds. Forever surrounded by a sense of intrigue, the world soon cottoned on to the elusive yet enchanting musical powers of this otherworldly beast. The results are that today his sha- manistic sonic powers take him all around the world. Whilst Claptone has continued to roam in his own circles, 2012AD proved to be a year dominatedby his infectious ‘Cream’ track. It became an immediate hit, topping new world charts at Beatport and RA, whilst the sonic conjuring of the ‘Night On Fire’ EP also lured all those who heard it, with the result another Top 20 hit. But that’s not all, for the creativity flows freely in our hero, and his ‘Another Night’ also proved to be just as successful on the dancefloor. Deep and woozy, the Claptone sound pairs theatre with tragedy, feel good vibes with acute melancholia and imbues each groove with a Rhodes laced funk, an organic string hook and myriad earthy elements. Up to the present day, Claptone releases have been birthed on Germany’s influential Exploited label, picking up props from the likes of Pete Tong, DJ Sneak, Soul Clap, DJ Hell, Jesse Rose, A-Trak along the way. Who or whatever Claptone is, it is alive, with a life of its own, evolving and revolving in equal measure, exploring new sounds naturally and forever taking inspiration from long gone and occult worlds. So far, esteemed and influential dancefloors at clubs in Berlin, London, Paris, Melbourne, Shanghai, New York and many others around the world have fallen under the sonic spell of this secretive alche- mist. The future is unpredictable for Claptone, but a new release ‘Wrong’ including the track ‘No Eyes’ with the inimitable JAW from French funsters dOP is on the horizon. Beyond that, your guess is as good as ours...

  16. Chinese Laundry are very excited to announce the return of John 00 Fleming on Saturday September 14th John 00 Fleming is one of few artists that has maintained underground respect whilst enjoying commercial success & what a better way to understand exactly why by seeing him perform a 5 hour set in the Cave John 00 Fleming is an artist who has achieved international success in a career spanning over 20 years without dishonouring his musical essence or fans. With over 10 million album sales and 30 produced mix compilations, John’s a proven musical pioneer whose essence lies in what his fans call, ‘the J00F sound’. The J00F sound is as unpretentious as the artist, and is best described as deep and textured progressively edged trance, in an electronic dance music style that is an antithesis to what is normally produced within the genre. As well as J00F in the Cave we have our ever popular resident & Klub Kid KID KENOBI headlining the Laundry & one of the most highly regarded djs from Mexico Mark Ksas Plus a huge line up of local talent across all 3 rooms of the club , you know this is going to be a killer party! Full Line Up Cave John 00 Fleming (UK,5 hour set) Club Junque Laundry Kid Kenobi Mark Ksas (Mexico) Natnoiz Pixl Wrecks Sand Bar Fingers GG Magree Ra Bazaar Bio – John 00 Fleming “A national treasure of trance music” Pete Tong BBC Radio 1 (Essential mix) “One of the Pioneers of the electronic dance music scene” The daily Telegraph Newspaper In an industry rife in self worship and mirror gazing, John is characterised by a passion and ability to connect audiences by injecting his unique underground musical style, and not his ego, into the mainstream vein. This connection has manifested in ten mix compilations and five singles in the UK Top 40 charts on iconic labels: Virgin, EMI and Warner Music. It has also seen him headline major events worldwide, seeing in over 10,000 appearances at the likes of Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, Ministry of Sound and Global Gathering, through to Holland’s Dance Valley, Serbia’s Exit Festival, Brazil’s Exxxperience, Australia’s Future music festivals, Belgium’s Tomorrowland, and the U.S.A’s Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC). John’s renown lies in his desire to give back to his fans. His much lauded 2010 BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix has spawned J00F Editions, an international tour which innovatively refocuses the music onto the club and its clubbers. J00F Editions resurrects the scene of old, and reintroduces the clubbing experience to extended sets, new sounds and new artists to deliver a true musical journey devoid of fluff and predictive cliché that has quickly gained international respect, residencies and support from other leading figures such as Dave Seaman, Avalon, Passion and Ministry of sound. JOOF Editions has been a huge success. John’s record label, J00F Recordings, and his monthly radio show, Global Trance Grooves, broadcast on iTunes, Ministry of Sound radio and DI. FM provides John another path to walk his own line. Here, he promotes rising stars in addition to giving over four million subscribed fans the latest in J00F’s inimitable sounds. John is also one of a select few endorsed by Pioneer. As the industry heavyweights inside every DJ booth, John provides subject matter expertise and consultancy in a partnership which ensures the upward evolution of the electronic music world’s tools of the trade. John’s esteem within the industry has garnered respect from electronica luminaries like Jean Michael Jarre and Simple Minds, and while humbly accepting peer endorsement he continues to let his production skills do the talking. Being humble John has never bragged the fact he writes music scores for the TV and movie world having music all over; BBC, NBC, Warner bros, Sony, ABC, Fax and more. Often being disgruntled with the commercial intrusion into the electronic John saved his writing skills for the media word, until recently where he has released an onslaught of chart topping releases, including his award winning debut album ‘Nine lives’ in 2011. John 00 Fleming is a performer who adroitly crafts something musically organic from the inorganic, artfully opening your senses into a genre far more pervasive than you currently know. Challenge yourself, and get intelligently immersed, inside his adventurous odysseys. http://www.john00fleming.com/ http://www.twitter.com/john00fleming http://www.youtube.com/user/JOOFrecordings http://www.myspace.com/john00fleming http://www.soundcloud.com/john00fleming http://www.joof.co.uk/ http://www.assuredartists.com/

  19. Sept 15 Chinese Laundry hosts a very special Sunday afternoon lock in, with the debut Sydney club show of one of the hottest acts in the world right now - Gorgon City... Pre-sales are extremely limited but there will be tix on the door, so lock this date in your calendar and don't miss out! Both respected and renowned for their individual producing pursuits, Gorgon City serves to fuse the deeper, sexier sounds that have excited the two producers for years but remained untouched. Releasing on Black Butter Records, their polished, powerful and party-minded sound has already caught the ears of tastemakers as disparate as Diplo, DJ T and Terry Farley. You can thank their strict childhood diet of jungle, house, grime, hip-hop and garage. You can thank the many messy sessions they've spent DJing on the White Isle. You can thank the sonic chemistry between the pair in the studio. Either way, this exciting new project from Gorgon City is the sum of their many influences, inspirations and ideas; and right now they've only just scratched the surface. Radio backed already by Radio 1, 1Xtra, Rinse FM and tipped by i-D Magazine as one of the hottest acts to watch this year. With gigs cropping up worldwide and their recent release "Real" ft. Yasmin and now their brand new single "Intentions" ft. Clean Bandit grabbing the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast & Morning Shows' "Record of the Week" slots, the guys are looking to really stamp their sound and character onto 2013. 24. Big announcement for August 31st with one of the hottest tours of 2013 landing at Chinese Laundry -RYAN HEMSWORTH & KAYTRANADA 2 Canadians who are seriously setting the world on fire with their smoking hot sounds Ryan Hemsworth has had a remarkably productive output in the past two years and a totally unique approach to hip hop and R&B production. With an early background as a singer and guitarist, he quickly weaned off rock into hip hop and more software oriented music, diving whole-heartedly into drum loops and samples. In 2011, his first release No Plans was featured on SPIN magazine’s Top 20 R&B albums of 2011 and he quickly followed up with A Way and Kitsch Genius, which got him increasingly noticed for a singular sound attracting a number of music critics and artists from across the country. He soon began cultivating relationships online and became a go-to producer for MCs like Main Attrakionz, Shady Blaze, and Deniro Farrar, helping craft a sound sitting somewhere between chill wave and trap rap. Hyperbolic Chamber Music, a collaborative project with NYC clothing brand Mishka, saw him at the helm of a 22-minute posse cut featuring 26 different rapper from across America, and his remix treatment of Grimes, Frank Ocean, and Danny Brown have kept his name spreading in the past year. Kaytranada at only 20 years of age has the work ethic of a seasoned producer. His influences come from all sorts of genres. Genres between Disco, Hip-Hop, House, and R&B. As of the last year, he has made a name for himself through producing R&B influenced bootleg remixes from artists such as Janet Jackson, Missy Elliot, TLC, Danny Brown, and Teedra Moses.
