Saturday 19th Oct Crookers head up a massive lineup at Laundry alongside Ember, A-Tonez & more After destroying ivy for the sold-out courtyard party the Italian electro hero could not say ciao to Sydney without locking in a headline spot at the number 1 club, and we couldn't be happier to have him... Full lineup: Ember A-Tonez Ocean Hannah Gibbs U-Khan Magic Bird Raulll Fingers GG Magree Ra Bazaar CROOKERS: Known for his earth-shaking live performances and cutting-edge albums, Francesco “Phra” Barbaglia has quickly become one of the most prominent djs working today. As the founding member of Crookers, he has shown the ability to not only create massive club hits but also a desire to push the genre forward through fearless innovation and a tireless work ethic. With numerous remix credits for artists ranging from the Chemical Bros to Kid Cudi, a recent, highly acclaimed live set at EDC and a new album in the works, Phra has shown no signs of slowing down. Born in the quiet town of Omegna, Italy, Phra seemed destined to follow in the footsteps of his dentist-father until a family cruise at age 11 exposed him to the world of dj’ing. From that moment on, he was hooked. Initially focusing his attention on hip-hop, Phra began experimenting with his craft while working at a local club just minutes from his parents’ home. It was here that he began honing his sound, blending elements of house, bossa nova, jazz and funk together into mixes that were unlike anything else at the time. Not content with simply playing what was “safe,” he continued to push the envelope, and it wasn’t long before he achieved his first major success when, in 2008, his remix of Kid Cudi’s “Day ‘N Nite” reached #2 on the UK sales chart. 2010 saw the release of Crookers’ debut album Tons of Friends. Featuring an all-star lineup that included the likes of Miike Snow, Pitbull and Major Lazer, Phra deftly combined elements from a variety of musical genres, receiving widespread praise from fans and critics alike. The 2011 follow up, Dr. Gonzo, proved to be another step forward for Phra, as he once again showcased his ability to produce catchy club beats without compromising his identity as a boundaries-breaking artist. Never one to sit still for very long, Phra has already begun work on his next album, with two tracks set to debut in October ahead of the planned 2014 release date. When he’s not busy performing for sold out crowds at festivals around the world or working with some of the biggest names in music, Phra splits his time between his two record labels: Lucky Beard and Ciao Recs. Looking for a way to explore the limits of his profession while working with his friends, what started as a passion project has turned into one of the best sources for underground music available. With artists such as Anubi, Digi and Stabber among the current active roster, all signs point to Lucky Beard and Ciao Recs continuing to be industry leaders far into the future.

Saturday October 5th Chinese Laundry are very excited to announce that we will be hosting the LEASED SUMMER SERIES after party ft ADANA TWINS (GER) + the debut Sydney performance of one of the real buzz acts in Australia at the moment JEALOUS MUCH? !! ADANA TWINS BIO: With DJ names like Take It Easy and Friso, it’s probably to be presumed that German duo Adana Twins don’t take themselves too seriously. That tongue in cheek attitude can be heard on “Everyday”, a delightfully loose and languid cut that sounds like a funkier, groovier and, well, slightly less overbearing take on the work of Benoit & Sergio. Despite being propelled forward by a superb synth bassline, it lazily slips from the speakers rather than jumping towards you like a ninja on speed. “Strange” continues in a similar vein, offering a laidback, Soul Clap style cover of The Doors’ “People Are Strange”. With nice pianos. However odd that may seem on paper, it’s actually superb. Hamburg duo The Adana Twins have been in the limelight of every chart over the past year, topping the poles of Beatport and Resident Advisor respectfully. Their ‘Juicy Fruit’ hit last year took the deep house faithfull by storm picking up huge support across the board from DJs of all genres including Solomun, Pete Tong and Wolf&Lamb. Adana Twins are playing in sold-out venues now and are causing sit downs during their sets when they pull out their anthems ‘Everyday’ and ‘Strange’. Jealous Much? Has everyone in the industry talking about their electro & Bass sounds & have already released some massive records & remixes which are getting caned by all the biggest Djs in the business Plus on top of the 2 big guests we also have the dynamic duo from Perth BLACK N BLUNT (Philly Blunt & Micah) And to top it all off we have a huge local line up across all 3 rooms which will have you partying non stop til close ! Friday 4th October just got a whole lot bigger!! Chinese Laundry and Bass Mafia hosts two very hot acts from the USA. GTA join us for an exclusive Sydney club show, and we are excited to now announce that JUST BLAZE will also be joining us for what is set to be one of the biggest club gigs of 2013!!! GTA: Bio – GTA Matt Toth and Julio Mejia make up the dynamic duo. Dedicated to their music, they stay holed up in their bedroom studio building beats that can set off any kind of dance floor. They’re stealing the stage from their hood to New York, LA and everything in between, and it just comes down to how they play their game. Producers without borders, GTA’s catalogue of sounds span the gamut without limitations. GTA’s future sound has them sought after some of the biggest names in the dance music game. They’ve had releases on Diplo’s Mad Decent, Ladback Luke’s Mixmash and A-Trak’s Fool’s Gold Records. They’ve remixed various artists from all genres, including Michael Woods, Trinidad James, Deadmau5, Wolfgang Gartner, Clockwork, Laidback Luke and A-Trak. Armed with endless creativity, a tireless work ethic and a fierce dedication to their craft, GTA are carving their name into the minds of dance floors freaks everywhere, and you can count on them to deliver the goods, each and every time. Straight out of Miami, GTA are on tour nationally to support Rihanna & promise to bring a club set that will experiment with trap music, house, moombahton, funky electro, booty bass, salsa, big room, anything they can put their flavor on. With “Death to Genres” as their battle cry, their mission is to set the room on fire and get all the asses clapping, every time. JUST BLAZE: Hip-hop would not be where it is today without Just Blaze. Recently his collaboration record with Baauer, ‘Higher’ blew up across the world, but the New Jersey producer has been an firm favorite for hip-hop A-list for over a decade. Over the past 15 years, Just Blaze has become a fixture in Hip Hop music and culture. He began producing for well-known artists in the late 1990s, leading to a breakout role in producing the majority of Jay-Z’s “The Dynasty: Roc La Familia” and his follow-up opus “The Blueprint”. He’s reached international fame for his production of Cam’ron’s 2002 summer smash “Oh Boy”. Since then, he’s gone on to produce for Snoop Dogg, Usher, Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Talib Kweli, Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross, Drake, and many more. Between producing five tracks on Eminem’s Grammy-winning comeback album “Recovery”, hosting Viacom’s DJ competition show “Master of the Mix”, upcoming projects with Ludacris, Fabolous, Jay-Z, and creating soundscapes for Twentieth Century Fox’s “Ice Age 4″, Just shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon.
