Pacha Sydney, presented by Heineken, will play host to series of mammoth Defected in the House parties, bringing together two of the world’s biggest forces in dance music today. The Defected series will kick off with Pacha first Pool Club day party on Saturday 15 February, featuring American house legend MK and Defected’s founder Simon Dunmore. MK, the phenomenon who conquered the underground music and pop world, has recently returned to the scene as one of dance music’s most in demand producer/DJs. Revolutionising music in the early 1990s with records like ‘Always’ and ‘Burning’, he established his unique style and set the blueprint for the era’s house music. These early club hits were followed by his seminal remix of Nightcrawler’s ‘Push The Feeling On’ which reached No. 3 in the UK charts in 1995 and went on to sell over 3 million copies. Twenty years late, MK still champions a sound that is as unique and relevant as ever, with his ubiquitous remix of Storm Queen's ‘Look Right Through’ going straight to Number 1 in the Official UK Singles Charts late last year. Joining MK is Simon Dunmore, Defected Records’ founder and one of the most respected A&R men in house. As well as being a curator of talent, Dunmore is one of the most technically-gifted house DJs, with an impressive career spanning three decades. An Outstanding Achievement award presented at Pete Tong’s International Music Summit in 2012 saw the industry celebrate his priceless contribution to dance music. Get your boarding passes ready, because this April the legendary Nick Warren and his Way Out West partner Jody Wisternoff will be setting off for an epic day on Sydney Harbour aboard the Bella Vista Starting as a tour DJ with Massive Attack, Nick Warren moved onto a residency at superclub Cream and has played every self-respecting club on the planet. Warren's impressive career has seen him release the very first Back to Mine compilation, a staggering eight albums for Global Underground, and one for Renaissance. Joining Warren on the unbeatable location of Sydney Harbour is the other half of Way Out West, Jody Wisternoff. He may no longer be the precocious teen who cracked the music industry aged just 13 when he reached the finals of the DMC World DJ Championship, but Jody Wisternoff is still not afraid to push the boundaries or test his own limits. Fast forward to the present day and despite having four successful albums under his belt as Way Out West, Wisternoff shows no signs of complacency. He is constantly evolving his sound with new tracks and showcasing fresh and experimental electronic music on his Frisky and Proton Radio shows every month.
