i've seen DJ's that are just looking busy twisting imaginary knobs and just flicking cross faders on channels not in use. using maschine's that don't even exist rofl when i play... i'm looking for the next track, finding a good spot in the track to mix into, cue it, fix gains if need be (i don't normalize my tracks rofl) and just repeat. also doing the typical waving around and jumping behind the booth, not my choice rofl

cheers man. its a bit repetitive atm lol. start is a sample from run dmc's walk this way and the kick is from another land will sparks, cut up a lil. i'll try and work out how to layering the kick drum and cutting out the lows XD thanks heaps man

pretty much what andyman said. if you want club gigs is to rock up to venues, talk and drink with people. get in with promoters or be a promoter yourself and keep an ear to the ground. only reason i got to be a resident where i was, was to make my name know to the dj's, staff and owner and wait for the change to play. i got my chance when they hosted a DJ comp, didnt come in first but it showed i could play.

using mac or pc? also i think your controller has a inbuilt soundcard which you might have to select or change the output device in serato
