  1. Here is my current chart for October: http://www.deephouseblog.net/2012/10/october-deep-juno-chart.html
  2. I was able to find a good copy of Berlin Calling with subs a few years back, but even then the subs weren't the best. Top movie though. I love the sampling of the Metro "closing doors"!
  3. New KDJ up in this piece! I can't wait for the postman to drop this bad boy off.
  4. I have a typhoon which got me through a time where I couldn't have my TTs set up. It's basic and does what it does, I'm sure the same can be said about the mixtrack (although never used one). Are you looking at sticking with the controller route or is it an entry into DJing? If it's an entry than that's fine although if you are looking to move onto bigger set ups I'd suggest getting second hand cdj's and a mixer to be honest.
  5. Definitely keen on Solo Un Poco De Amor!
  6. Russell, your next ambition needs to be gettting Solo Un Poco De Amor, and Such A Beautiful Place released! Top stuff mate.
  7. Hey Guys, I'm looking to get me some studio monitor stands for my 5" M Audio monitors. I need something rather thin (but able to hold the weight). I've got a pretty small living room where the decks are set up. Anyone got any suggestions (can't use wall fixtures unfortunately). Cheers.
  8. Oh nice, I'll take a listen when I get home, should put me in the mood for the weekend!
  9. Simply grew out of a passion for collecting records, and that is where it is at currently. I still collect a small amount of records on a monthly basis, even though I don't mix so much lately. It is a nice release from everyday stresses, even if it's only an hour or so out of the day, simply being involved and taken away with the music is key.
  10. Deep and Disco goodness by Edit Murphy http://www.deephouseblog.net/2012/06/ed ... m-024.html
  11. Each to their own yeah, All comes down to your personal preference (including cd vs vinyl vs digital etc). I never do any quick mixes therefore don't need that capability.
  12. Glad you enjoyed it, Tim put some serious effort into it. There are some absolute belters in this mix. Quality stuff. Rus I'll hit you up for a mix at some point
  13. Deep House Heads, The guest mixes have begun and we are starting things off with THA D4EEPMEISTER out of Detroit (via Hawaii). This mix is an hour of pure deepness, starting of dark and raw moving into a nice and smooth finish. Enjoy! http://www.deephouseblog.net/2012/05/gu ... b-001.html
  14. Did you hit up Corsica much rus? I thought it was a good little spot. I had a belter of a night seeing MDCE and Theo Parrish rip up the venue. Ah good times.
  15. Rotary knobs provide greater control for smoother mixing imo. They definitely aren't for anything quick though. Good for mixing deep house and the like where the transitions are longer. That being said i still prefer using normal faders as it's what I'm used to and what most clubs use too. Pretty much what Rus said, they do provide greater control for smoother mixing. You don't want to try and do anything fast or fancy with it, but saying that I've seen a dude do some cuts and drops as well as other tricky shit with a Urei 1620 (original). Myself, I like to use it softly and take my time blending tracks together. I prefer to use rotary mixers, but I don't mind using faders. I definitely need to get an isolater for my mixer as I would like further control over the EQs but it's not a biggie, my records sound amazing through the mixer as is.
  16. What's your reason for choosing Newcastle? Spain is wicked I lived there for 3 months. Majority of the clubs are you more of your big room house with a bit of electro thrown in there. I really want to find the deep house scene that they've got going on, so many good producers coming out of Madrid (I can't wait to go back, hopefully the end of this year)
  17. Just throwing it out there, Deep Explorer Music are pumping out some gems of late. The latest release by Dubbyman & Bjak (Twin Beats) - "D.I.P EP" with a great remix from Larry Heard is superb. Highly recommended. Edit: The review for this release is up on deephouseblog.net http://www.deephouseblog.net/2012/05/du ... ip-ep.html Enjoy!
  18. I pretty much use all the ones listed by russell above. I'll definitely have to take a gander at that globalgroove store on discogs, cheers for the heads up.
  19. Will do champ!
  20. If it's related to Deep House I am more than happy to feature.

    TOTD?

    http://soundcloud.com/deep-explorer/deep-explorer-025-2-bjak Deep Explorer goodness!
  22. Yeah I need to also fill up the piggy bank before investing in an isolator. I can't wait though... To be honest the Urei is good as it is, I think getting an isolator would give me more control but is not needed (I am trying to justify spending the money in my own mind haha).
  23. Upcoming release on new Swiss based label Waehlscheibe. http://www.deephouseblog.net/2012/04/martin-donath-veranda-waehl001.html
