Yep stick to the likes of Run DMC, daft punk, maybe some old(ish) tracks like Zoe Badwi - Release Me, Tocadisco - streetgirls, and some other cheesey Ministry Of Sound raped stuff. You'll be fine mate just don't play all the hits and don't play any big build ups/drops.

I use serato to organise my music into genres mainly, and then I have other folders i.e. "bogan stuff" for epic drunk sing alongs (you can imagine), and it's never a good idea to mix somethin gbefore the gig, this eliminates the flexibility of playing as per the crowds reactions

I voted other, the sets I normally play these days consist of multiple genres including some current radio hits, old school hits like run dmc, some cheesey ass hip hop like nelly ride wit me or dmx, and they normally create a pretty fun mood in the venue with everyone singing along and having a good time. On the other hand you have other venues full of pilled up kids off their guts that just want a sick beat to munt out too. Depends what you guys want in the venue I guess! PS. I would be interested in DJing at this new venue.

Well, we have a thread for dj setups, so this thread can be for all the studio porn you guys have!! I'll get the ball rolling... (not mine) I am in the process of building a studio set up, and I will post photos as soon as it consists of more than a coffee table and a laptop haha.

I rekon 13" are better for DJing than 15", especially if the booth where you are DJing is all cluttered and messy, or just real small. 13" screen has more than enough real estate for using serato I've never had to squint or anything, it's a perfect size!

Man go down to jaycar and tell them you're situation they will give you everything you need. If the speakers you got came with any plugs or transformers take them.

I had two audioline 15's that this happened too, except one was the driver one was the horn. Sent em away for warranty and they sent them back exactly the same. Audioline are shithouse man would never go back to them. Mine blew after 5 parties they were the biggest waste of $800.
