the pad control is just like all other usb midi controllers ...it has no audio output , only midi ok ...to set it up with USB...[ after you have installed the midi driver...if needed ] plug it to your P.C by usb and plug the 6v power...and power it on open your DWS software and set up the audio sound card you are going to be using now on your pad control , set the pre-set to number 2 { GM MIDI }....The pre-sets are for setting up other DWS ....there a pre-set for ABLETON and CueBass......number 2 is GM MIDI....GM MIDI is like a standed midi.. open up a sample rack or drum rack in your DWS .....in the sample or drum rack each instrument in the rack will have a midi note number set the note number to be the same as the note number in the DWS software instrument you would like to play on the pad.. on the pad control you uses the function pad/button and the up and down pad/buttons to change from presets [ midi setting for other DWS's..] to note numbers [what midi note the pad's is set to...] to velocity C [ how hard you hit the pads].. this vid might help...

do you want hardware sampler or software sampler..??????. I use hardware sampling to control software sampler........this give me best of both worlds use the sampler in the d.j software and a midi controller...its cheeper but has its problems if using traktor pro...use the f1 midi controller.. if using serato sp6 or mixvibes sampler ...use a AKAI lpd8..or any pad midi controller

the best cheep little sound card is the E-box 44 usb....4 RCA inputs, with phono/line pre-amps ( so you can plug in 2 turntables or 2 C.D players and run a open DVS using time code vinyl / C.Ds ) 4 RCA outputs ...with little blue led's for each inputs & outputs , headphono and microphone jacks on the front with level knobs for both comes with ASIO drives for windows ...core audio for mac sounds good for a cheep sound card ...tested on mixvibes cross software with time code vinyl on i-mac and my p.c I'v got one here you can have..only 7 weeks...do for $100

I use mixvibes dvs 6-7 and mixvibes cross mixvibes dvs can do some amazing thing ....like play a VSTi with a midi key board ..and then record what you play into one the time code vinyl decks in the software so you can scratch it its got a good 16 pad mpc 4x4 sampler ... dvs is the old software ...its very stable ...but...there are no more updates ... the new software is cross........cross is dope... 8 midi divices ,8 apple wifi divices its a plug in play for the pioneer cdj 2000 ,900, 850 ,400 and 350s under HID 14 bit midi...it use's the cdj sound card as the sound output....no need to plug your serato or traktor box to use HID on your cdj the track search engine in cross is very good .....so good pioneer use it for Rekord-box the sampler is good.... 8 pads for one deck and 8 for another, that can be link/sync by beat gride off the track playing in the deck one click sample cuting... as for the time code vinyl feels nice and tight with very little driff......scratchs sound nice.... now can do video with video plug in.....scratching porn in HD with you turntable me on dvs 7....

I'm doing a DYI you might like.......its a Turntable with a midi controller ( 20 buttons & 4 knobs) around it & a dvs 4 x 4 sound card + hard drive dock

I might have something ( new dj software ) for your dj school..........You will be able to run it by HID midi on your cdj 900....and by time code vinyl using you AUDIO 8 sound card

I will be there......if you like I can bring the ns7 serato video setup for the boyz to play with
