  1. here a tip........if your into scratching... pull the crossfader out & throw it away & put a Innofader in it.. works in most mixers I just put one in my Stanton SA 12 scratch mixer the best $ 220 you will ever spend http://www.innofader.com/
  2. I to would be up for it if you need a hand give me a ring
  3. wazza

    Hi from SiLo.

    hi Silo...welcome to the ADJF
  4. I will pm my phono number...when you get on the Gold Coast give me a Ring ...I will show you around & have a beer & a mix
  5. Hi KYLE..welcome to the ADJF.. the big's thing to lean when going from Cd players to vinly ( time code vinly ) is leaning to use your fingers & your hands to mix with using your fingers to slow down or to speed up the track to keep it in time ( BPM off the other track thats playing ) you do this by..( if slowing down ) 1.]..running your finger lightly along the bottom off the platter { a big slow down } 2.]..running your fingers lightly on the vinly label { a medium slow down } 3.]..lightly turning back the vinly spindle on the turntable platter { a light slow down } to speed up you do this.. 1.]..with your finger lightly push forward on the vinly label { a big speed up } 2.]..lightly turn forward the vinly spindle on the turntable platter when ever you use your finger to slow down or speed up..with your other hand you move the pitch fader up or down so the track don't drift off the beat Heres a TIP... get two off the same track...put them in each deck in S.S.L now set one turntable at 0% and set the other turntable at +1% now practice using your fingers [ by speeding the slow track up & slowing the faster track down ) to keep the beats in time
  6. mixmeister...suck ass I would never get PCDJ after what thay did to all the PCDJ-vj users mixvibes vfx shit all over them ........................................................................................................... EDIT...mixvibes VFX is out NOW... here a pic off the new VFX midi controller.. heres a pic off the screen shoot.. formore info go here.. http://www.mixvibes.com/site/pageeng/page.php?x=mv7vfx
  7. ... EDIT..I think the Ableton road is the way I'm going to go down.. A friend has a MPC 2500...it fun to play..[ but its $3000 + ] thats why I was looking at the MPC 1000 the MPC 1000 looks to limited for $2000...I would out grow it quick I like the idea off the Behringer BCF 8 100mm long motorised faders & the 8 push button endless rotary encoders...& the 64 pad/button grid on the Launchpad will give me more than enough control over Ableton... I think it will just do more & be more fun to play......& its like $500 cheeper
  8. ok...I have got all the d.j gear I need... now looking to make some beats & brakes I can get a MPC 1000 for $2000.... ( hardware ) OR I can get one Behringer BCF 2000 & a LaunchPad for $650 + $700 for Ableton 8....( software )
  9. hi EGG's SELL...welcome to AdjF good to have another old school dj here
  10. with that set up you will never have a problem...will run for a long time BUT... some time shit happens that is out off your control remember the pics off my Pioneer 909...when I got the 909 it was $2000 now its got $500 + damage....shit happens & always have a plan B my 909 is in the shop now getting fixed....so my plan B is a Stanton DJ Craze SA-12 with a Innofader......loving this Scratch combo
  11. not isolated incident...more like where & tear after 7 years off having the ass thrash out off them...every day off every week off every year & the only problem is the RCA cable & a switch that very good for the 1200's......just hope my PDX turntable will still be going in another 7 years or will last as long as my old 1200 did if you want to take about high end Faulty SHIT that never worked right... one off the boyz in my crew has payed $5000 on 3 NUMARK CDX....all 3 went back to the shop with in the frist year...we send them FUCKED to be FIX & thay would send them back to us 4 weeks later FUCKED so we would send them back & back thay come.....we move on to CDJ 1000 mk2 & 3 ( I will never BUY NUMARK again ) the CDX are now under his BED still FUCKED
  12. @ SkyBlue.....I think this is a good topic.....as it can give a new dj a insight into what can go wrong and how to fix it... @ CBG....you are right ...you get what you pay for( pay cheep & get cheep BUT..its not just the cheep that can have fault by design WHAT..????..turntable BRAND..???..Technic's 1200 mk2 Reson for purchasing..???..was the best Turntable at the time Problem..???..Most off these fault's are from where & tear but because Technic's know about these problems & have not done anything in the Design about them in 20 years....I will put it as faults 1).. the Ground & RCA cables always fuck-out on the 1200's 2).. the feet always fall of on the 1200's 3).. the on/off dial switch is just glued to a shaft....over time can brake & the shaft will drop to the bottom off the turntable all off these are easy to fix but will have to pull apart the 1200 to fix them
  13. no............ new 1200 have never been Fairly priced the first 1200 I got 18 years ago was a fair price because there was no other turntable out at the time but now every D.J gear manufacture make good turntables for cheeper than the 1200's......its only the TEC 1200 fanboy that are keeping the price so high
  14. yes ....the 1200 mk2 is the industry standard why .....because club & bar owner are cheep thay dont want to put other turntables in there clubs if thay dont know how long thay are going to last whear the 1200's have been proven to go for every....so thay save $$$$ Industry standard don't mean better...it just means that the industry uses it more to me the best Turntable is the Vestax PDX3000 MIX or even better ( if you can find one ) the vestax control one... ( I would sale one off my Kids for a control one ) ......check out this Vid off Dj Woody on the C-ONE
  15. the turntable in the vid are Stanton ST8 150 the ST150 are OEM turntable others OEM TT are AA HDT 4.5 Two AA hdt 4.5 can be picked up cheep on E-BAY http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2-American-audio ... 3a549cf3a6 the OEM are better than 1200 for time code Vinly / C.d's and MIDI you dont need SL3.... if your looking at turntables & some CDJ 400 have a look at mixvibes CROSS works good with turntables with time code vinly and with the CDJ 400 as a HID midi & the Cross pac ( 2 time code vinly & 2 time code C.D's , the software & the ASIO sound card) is about half the price off S.S.L
  16. LOL
  17. will do....when-ever you get some time we will hook up for a mix
  18. lol .....that was funny
  19. hope you win tomy
  20. Dj Dennis SHUT-UP your a FUCK-HEAD ..How would you know how good VFX is when it not out yet are you a BETA tester for mixvibes "NO"...I did not think so un-like you I am a beta tester for mixvibes ...& have had VFX as a beta for about 3 weeks now ...I can say that VFX is very , very good it still needs some work on some little bugs...but when it does drop it will shit on all other video mixing & scratching software out there how can MixMeister & RockIT be better for mixing & scratching video when MixMeister & rockit have little to no MIDI controllers supported & both don't do time code vinly / C.D's PS:...if you need help from the software developer to set-up & run a simple software like rockIT you need to give up D.Jing you no skill button pusher
  21. bris is good for me...
  22. if you don't mind coming down to the Gold Coast I will mentor you ... you will be learning C.D's on CDJ 1000 mark 2 & 3 vinly on Vestax PDX turntables & 1200 mk2 & midi D.jing on Vestax VCI 100 & Stanton SDS d3 & also time code D.j software..( s.s.l & mixvibes ) I will show you how to do it all....& then you can deside which way you wound like to go with your D.Jing
