the midi fighter is cool....but you can't beat the power off the Livid 64 block take more $$$ to make..& more time.....but you would get a way better midi controller... check out this midi controller he makes in this TUTO Demo video

I'm with Chev on this one I'v got a Vestax vci-100 that I run with mixvibes producer software.....work good & is soild build but you will need to buy good sound card... get the Vestax vci-300.....its way better than the 100...& has a sound card in it & comes with free Serato ITCH [ very good software ] so its easy to set-up....just plug-in & play got to use the Vestax VCI-300 in N.Z at the start off the year....it was very , very good & you can get them in LTD pink for the Ladies d.j like you.. never used s.s.l with c.d players only vinly....but I think its the same way

you use the second track on the vinly like this.., you scroll through your crate in Serato for the track you want ...as you go forward and back on the vinly, you will see a high-light in your crate scroll up & down your track list.....high-light the track you would like to play... lift the needle off the second track & put it at the start off the first track on the vinly....your track you have high-lighted in the crate in serato will load instantly

DONT..use the laptop sound card to play out.. most laptop sound cards sound like shit

...you need a sound card that has 2 stereo out-puts....one stereo output go's to your amp & speakers....the other go to your headphonos the NI Audio 2 sound card is good sound card that only has out-puts & is cheep you only need the two stereo in-puts for....if your going to add turntables /c.d players & time code vinly/ C.D's to control V.DJ

Now I'm looking to get Virtual D.j because off you...is that funny now for the ???..you need a sound card that has 4 in-put & 4 out-puts the inputs are for your turntables &/or c.d players ...outputs go to mixer and you need ASIO audio drivers...USB or firewire sound cards start at $300 for a MAYA 44 usb and go all the way up to $1500 I use a EDIROL FA 66...have for 3 years.....thear about $600
