  11. the software is grand vj..the software has maps for the mpk 49 and the apc 40 & 20...for your mpk mini...as with any keyboard ,the key will be map str8 out off the box...the pads & knobs you will need to map but thay are easy to map in the software
  12. pick away my friend... .the software and midi latency is good from what i have played with the demo...and not only can it run from a hardware sampler sequencer ..like a mpc, mv 800 or a 808 / 909..but also a software sequencer like ableton or any other DWS software , OR on the back off a VSTi so you can use say a MOOG keyboard vsti...as you play the keys you fire videos....setting was easy
  13. a trip-hop track i made using my roland mv 8000 + my roland mc 808 for the audio....and my mv 8000 and grand vj software demo for the video EFX sequencing...this is what it looks like..
  14. You only need one turntable......to control 2 deck in your DVS software I love my vestax PDX 3000 mk2....the midi input on the vestax 3000 is the best thing ever...it opens up to a hole new world off scratching using tones/ notes.. Heres an old vid off me on my vestax pdx 3000 ....using the midi sampler / sequencer to control the Vestax turntable ( by moog VSTi ) and the sampler in the software at the same time
  15. run your dvs ( time code vinyl ) & your dws at the same time.....best off both worlds... run tarktor and ableton together in sync by midi clock...or serato ableton bridge ....I love the bridge
  16. He will be using the pads on the launchpad for banging on .... the buttons on my pcr 500 are not that bad....be more for EFX,s midi mapping in ableton And you can use the sonic cell fat sounds as a vst inside ableton
  17. 18. Do you all think I should hit the big boss man at the pub for this new video mixer http://www.videoguys.com.au/Shop/p/2551 ... o-vr3.html I work in a little pub on the GC....over the last 3 weeks me & a friend have moved over to video mixing using Serato video in the pub, him on the Rane ttm 57 sl mixer & the new Denon dns 3900 When its my night on ,Me on my numark ns7 .. Every one + the boss is loving Serato video on all big LCD tv I have been also playing around with Grand vj software ...& I,m like WOW video sampling & sequencing using my Roland mv 8000 hardware as a midi controller...fire off a audio sample from the pad it also fires off a video in the software ...all our audio drop can now show our video logo I plug my Roland mv 8000 sampler by old midi 6 pin plug into my edirol pcr 500 midi keyboard controller ,then from my midi keyboard to my HP laptop by USB ...in grand vj there is a pre-made midi map for the pcr keyboard , so setting it up was a easy....I run grand vj on my laptop and run Serato video on my iMac ...so I need this video mixer to show video from the iMac & the laptop + video camera,s on the night I do a 2 hour set...and a friend who is a singer starts of with the first hour ..then I do two...would like to hit the boss up and say we need it so we can film him singing in front off green screens and stage ,so with the video mixer ,as we film him we can superimpose his image over some video & sound active visuals ....also film the crowd and if there is mp3 in serato that I don't have a video for I can use visuals in grand vj...... And stream the night live to the net..
  19. 3 thing to think about when buying a soundcard for d.jing with midi controllers are.... 1... sound quality.....you get what you pay for...the more you pay for a good sound card the better the sound....that thing would sound like shit next to something like my old edirol fa 66 or my new Roland sonic-cell on a big sound setup in a club... 2... Audio & midi inputs & outputs....because that thing is for 5.1 ( one audio output ,split into right & left front , right & left back & center.....And because theres is no ASIO or core audio drivers...how will that thing and your laptop sound card( for 2 stereo channels ) know to split 2 stereo audio channels to both soundcards or one soundcard with two stereo outputs.....most good sound card drivers have a software audio mixer in it ,so you can send stereo audio outputs channels to output on your sound card.....also will you be adding more midi / audio gear latter on as your Dj setup get bigger..better to get a sound card that has more in,s & out,s than you need now then buy another sound card latter...I don't thing that thing has enough input 3...good audio drivers .....with out ASIO or core audio drivers ...latency both audio & midi is going to be hard to work with
  20. Try asio4all drivers.....I know that this driver can use more than one sound card at the same time It's hard to set up ...but might work I would get a better sound card......like a e box 44
  21. is there a link floating around somewhere? Get the Stanton scs 4 Dj ...for $550 The best all in one Dj controller to start djing on for your $$$$ No laptop needed ..play off a USB drive.....or as a midi software controller.. https://www.storedj.com.au/products/STN-SCS4D
  22. It's just midi over USB so any software d.j or dws that runs midi will work
  23. How do you know what a vinyl Dj is think....I started d.jing 20 years ago on vinyl because that's all that was out ...then moved to c.d on the Denon dn 2000 & 2500 ..then went to the cdj 1000 mk1 & 2 and numark cdx ..then went back to vinyl when the DVS time code came out mixvibes & Serato ...now I use midi controllers, numark ns7 & v7 ....as off now I,m just getting to know the new Denon dns 3900 ( a friend has just picked one ) the fucking thing is badass I do a lot off remix sequencing & sampling & video mixing..so i sync sometimes ..so you can call a sync Dj if you like and bag me for it if you like but I would like you to try to do some off the shit I can do live....
  24. 2.2 works good for me ,on my numark ns7 ....just got a new iMac 2.5 i5 with 6770 video card ..running Serato video with no problems....I,m loving the Mac after the weeks &weeks of fuck-around trying to set up video Serato on my HP i5 laptop
  25. I sold my edirol fa 66 fire-wire sound card to STREET so he can start to do production ( thats why his shit sounds so good ) good sound card + good sounds.. I how use a roland sonic cell.....
