Hey guys, I run an online Event Services marketplace to help people find and book Venues, Caterers, DJs etc for Parties and Functions. How it works basically is that Customers put down their requirements e.g. DJ ... along with a budget and preferred location. Then DJs would submit quotes and the customer can compare and book the best DJ for them. E.g. Pretty much reiterating what others have said, it has a lot to do with connections. I personally don't DJ at Venues, but a lot of my mates do, they got hooked up when they made friends with Promoters and other DJs. On occasion Promoters do advertise on their websites for adhoc DJs e.g. when a regular can't make it... but this is very very rare. Usually DJs who can't fill the night call their mates hence why you need to be friends with DJs.
