  1. Drummer Lee Kerslake, an original member of Ozzy Osbourne’s solo band and a longtime member of Uriah Heep, reveals in a new interview that a “doctor gave me about eight months to live” in his battle with cancer and other ailments. Kerslake was only a member of Ozzy Osbourne’s band from 1980 to 1981, but played drums on his first two albums, Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman, considered by many to be Ozzy’s two greatest solo discs. Kerslake left the band to be with his ailing mother, and, originally, Diary of a Madmen credit was given to his replacement, Tommy Aldridge, even though it has since been determined that Kerslake played on that album. In a new interview with The Metal Voice host Jimmy Kay [via Metalhead Zone], Kerslake offered an update on his health, saying, “It’s prostate cancer but it’s moved to rest of my body I have now have bone cancer which is nasty one, so the doctor gave me about eight months to live. But I’ve been fighting all the way.” He added, “Five years ago they gave me four years to live and so that gives you an idea. Not only have I got bone cancer I’ve got psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and two heart murmurs. As I said to you I’m fighting it and there’s no telling what can happen and they might have a new drug come out and I’ll experiment with it if it keeps me alive.” Both Kerslake and bassist Bob Daisley sued Ozzy and his manager wife, Sharon Osbourne, for proper royalties and songwriting credits for those first two albums. At one point Sharon enlisted drummer Mike Bordin and bassist Robert Trujillo to re-record Kerslake and Daisley’s tracks for a 2002 reissue, but the albums were once again issued with the original tracks in 2011. In the same interview (which can be heard below), Kerslake added, “I’ve written to Sharon and Ozzy recently, a personal letter basically asking them to kindly send me platinum album certifications for Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman, to hang on my wall before I die. It’s on my bucket list.” He added that he “went bankrupt” as a result of the litigation over the albums. Kerslake was also a longtime member of the UK rock band Uriah Heep from 1971 through 1979 and again from 1981 through 2007, playing on most of their studio albums throughout the years. Currently, Kerslake is working on a new solo album called Eleventeen, which he plans to release in 2019, with hopes that he can defy his doctor’s prognosis again. “I survived this long and all this time I have had this terminal cancer but I have defied it because the music kept me fighting.“ Listen to the full interview below. 2. Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke is amidst a solo tour of the United States. Following last night’s concert in Denver, Yorke spent at least a portion of the evening Googling GIFs from the children’s movie franchise Paddington, one of which he posted to his Twitter account a little before 3:00 a.m. weeeeeeeee pic.twitter.com/42Vvn6L8QZ — Thom Yorke (@thomyorke) December 12, 2018 I have so many questions: as the bathtub scene is from the first Paddington, is he suggesting that film is better than Paddington 2, in which case what the fuck? Might he be scoring Paddington 3 as his follow-up to Suspiria? Does he prefer baths over showers? But, perhaps, most importantly, how does this tie into Radiohead’s next album? 3. The Smashing Pumpkins just capped off an epic tour in honor of the band’s 30th anniversary, but they’re not through repping their latest album, Shiny and Oh So Bright Vol. 1, just yet. On Tuesday, the alt-rock icons swung by Kimmel for a one-two punch that included Top Song of the Year “Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)” and “Knights of Malta”. (Read: The Smashing Pumpkins’ 10 Best Deep Cuts) Check out the replay below. The Pumpkins’ recent tour introduced crowds to new covers of The Cure’s “Friday I’m in Love” and The Cars’ “Dangerous Type”. In other news, Corgan has said he intends to release a follow-up to Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 in the new year, and just recently revealed plans for a Christmas album. The band also seems to be preparing a box set reissue of Machina/The Machines of God and Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music. Source
  4. The Lowdown: The recent shooting death of Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, known to most as XXXTentacion, still seems like something from a movie — something that can be turned off and things would go back to normal. Although a controversial figure, the impact of the 20-year-old Onfroy had already spread across generations of hip-hop listeners. The Floridan was an influential leader in the emo-rap subgenre, as he masterfully incorporated dark production with soul-striking lyrics. On his posthumous album, SKINS, the instruments do most of the expression, and, as usual, his lyrics continue to revolve around suicide, depression, and heartbreak — except this time it hits harder. The Good: As mentioned above, the instrument sounds do most of the talking on SKINS. The chops on “Guardian angel”, piano chords on “Train Food”, percussion on “whoa (mind in awe)”, and strings on “STARING AT THE SKY” are in full control of the mood — one all the darker and more heartbreaking due to the rapper’s violent demise. For the most of SKINS, XXX sounds low-spirited and so do his words. On “Guardian angel”, he sings about heartbreak, the toll that it took on him, and how it shaped his expectations of love. As he screams, “Run from your pain,” in the bridge of “STARING AT THE SKY”, one can hear the frustration in his voice. The Bad: SKINS can’t help but sound like a fragment of a whole and of its original intention, which denies listeners the full auditory experience — and maybe some of the closure — that they’d like. Also, there are a several similarities in samples and rhythm between this album and his two previous projects. A notable example of this is the sample of “Jocelyn Flores” used in “Guardian angel”. The single “BAD!” also sounds a lot like XXX’s song “SAD!”. It would have been the icing on the cake if SKINS came with totally fresh sounds, but in all fairness, Onfroy never got to see the project through. The Verdict: Onfroy was known for his unconventional style and technique, such as melodious emo verses and heavy, guitar-backed instrumentals. The album does feature several sides of X’s unique rhythm, like the sweet melody that is “woah (mind in awe)” and the rock vibe that comes with tracks like “One-minute” and “STARING AT THE SKY”. When words are mixed with sounds, it’s easier to assess the music as a whole, but the instrumentation on SKINS far outweighs the lyrics, thus leaving a large portion of beautiful sounds and samples as the bar for rating. The album represents XXXTentacion’s goodbye to his many fans, friends, and family, and it is done in a short, sweet, and beautiful way. Essential Tracks: “what are you so afraid of”, “STARING AT THE SKY”, and “woah (mind in awe)” Source
  5. After a successful US tour, French DJ Cédric Steinmyller A.K.A Klingade released an exclusive acoustic version and two remixes of “Wonders” with Broken Back (Ultra Music). Reimagining the original single, all versions represents Klingande pushing his creative limits. The acoustic version of “Wonders” comes through with a softer and down-tempo production as it invites warm piano melodies. With light percussion, Broken Back’s blissful vocals overlay the baseline seamlessly. Alongside the acoustic version, French DJ duo FDVM delivers a groove-driven club mix, while Monte Fino brings eclectic strings to his chill mix of Klingande & Broken Back’s collaboration. The original of “Wonders” continues to thrive, having already amassed 3 million streams on Spotify alone. Klingande & Broken Back on set via Facebook Klingande first discovered Broken Back in 2014 via Youtube and was appealed by his talents. He invited the singer to his home studio where “Riva” was born and later, accumulated over 80 million views. Reuniting both worlds, “Wonders” conveyed Broken Back’s reputation of a true showman since he’s performed well-over 250 concerts in less than two years. Klingande kickstarted 2018 with his Autograf & Dragonette collaboration, “Hope For Tomorrow” and went on to release “Rebel Yell” earlier this year. From his sold-out edition of ‘Klingande’s Playground’ at Miami Music Week 2018 to stand-out performances at Tomorrowland, Parookaville, SW4 Festival, and Ushuaia Ibiza- there are no signs of stopping for the creative producer. 7. We’re nearing the end of another year and that means a number of things. Boundaries are being pushed on an almost daily basis as offices around the country are throwing moral obligations out the window and getting absolutely fuckin’ rowdy, Mum’s gearing up to do the “big” Christmas shop – a task that seemingly takes 2 months of planning to execute flawlessly – and YouTube have just dropped the video nobody asked for: their 2018 rewind. If you haven’t seen the video yet then be warned, it’s pretty fucking awful. It’s like having a fever dream where the most infuriating and godless moments of the year are thrown back in your face, soundtracked by dubstep renditions of top 40 radio Nova hits. I’ll level with you guys, I made it to around 6 minutes into the video until I couldn’t watch anymore. There’s something about having random YouTubers thrown in my face like I’m supposed to know them that just irks me. But, why the big commotion this year? Every year Rewind drops it’s not exactly heralded for its artistic ingenuity, but this year more than any other it seems like there’s a huuuuuge disparity between what the platform actually represents and how YouTube wants to be perceived by advertisers. Marques Brownlee, a YouTube tech reviewer featured in the video, made some very insightful points regarding the filming process and what Rewind mean to the platform. The “problem” with YouTube Rewind is pretty simple, actually – the delta between what creators/audiences expect and what YouTube wants to show has never been more clear. — Marques Brownlee (@MKBHD) December 10, 2018 Creators want YouTube Rewind to be a celebration of YouTubers and the biggest/best stuff on the platform that year. YouTube wants Rewind to be a couple minutes they can show to advertisers and say “look at all the great stuff over here that you want to spend your dollars on!” — Marques Brownlee (@MKBHD) December 10, 2018 We talked about how this Rewind would be different, and going from 300+ talents to around 100. But the edit is still overwhelming, and it ALWAYS looks like they're trying to please and include everyone. Which they clearly can't. — Marques Brownlee (@MKBHD) December 10, 2018 Not only does YouTube often fail to address their major criticisms in order to present a calm and problematic exterior to their clients, but they fail to advocate or help those that actually give them content to which to sell to advertisers. If creators are not valued on a site which relies on their creations in order to make a profit, then it’s simply a massive slap in the face to those who put time into their craft. Honestly, with each new YouTube scandal it makes me wonder how close we are to another video hosting site popping up and taking creators away from YouTube, maybe PornHub can step up? As for an actual rewind, the below video does a much better job of capturing what it was like to be on YouTube this year in the first 15 seconds then the entire 2018 Rewind video, tide pods and all. 8. Ty Dolla $ign could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted for the drug charges he’s been hit with… Earlier this year, the hip hop star was busted just before an Atlanta show. Drug dogs reacted when sniffing outside the vehicle he and his posse were inside. The footage of Ty Dolla $ign, Skrillex, and others getting searched went viral following Ty’s arrest. He was the only one taken into custody. According to reports, Ty has been charged with felony possession of cocaine, felony possession of THC and a misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Around the time of the incident, Ty’s attorney Drew Findling spoke to Channel 2 Action News: “He had no drugs on his person at all. Apparently, there was a small amount of some drug found in the car and they let five people walk away. And they let the international superstar go into custody.” Fifteen years seems a little extreme. 9. Knife Party and Pegboard Nerds‘ collaboration “Harpoon” is one of our favorite releases of 2018, and how could it not be? Between the high-pitched vox, addictive melody and that absolute beast of a bassline, there are a lot of reasons to fall in love with it. And it seems the two duos aren’t done yet! Fans recorded a new collab ID from Knife Party during their set in Amsterdam for ADE, though earlier versions of the ID have been dated as far back as August. The staccato rhythm and wild bassline are pure electro house goodness and just another reason why these four in the studio together produce absolute heat. And beyond this recording, there’s still so much room for modifications or another drop before it is ever officially released, if it’s ever officially released. But considering it’s been getting play from the Nerds and Knife Party live over the past few months gives us reason to think it will be. Check out the ID below, going by the WIP title “Jack” for now, until something more concrete is revealed. Photo via Rukes.com This article was first published on Your EDM. 10. Uptown, downtown, turn the beat around town This one goes out to New York’s premier Brooklyn club Output that has just announced it’ll no longer be ‘hip hopping, beat bopping’ after 5 solid years of trading. While this song probably wouldn’t have got play time there, it’s still a classic throwback tune. If you were around in 2007, whether you were a high schooler frequenting the local shopping centre looking for fresh neon clothing or a young adult hitting the clubs in, well, more fresh neon clothing, you couldn’t escape this banger. Armand Van Helden was the man at the helm of this beast, that perfectly exemplified some of the club releases of the time. With that ridiculously catchy vocal hook, crunchy electro beat and a surprisingly large range of percussion it was one of those tunes that was way more than just its repetitive vox. Check it out below and relive those feels. Source

  12. With Swedish House Mafia back at it, all eyes and ears are on Steve Angello, Axwell, and Sebastian Ingrosso. Fans are dying to hear even a snippet of the new material they are working on. The supergroup has been extremely vocal about their return to the scene, while keeping their music on the down low. Meanwhile, each of the three dance icons are expected to keep their solo projects going. So, this next video could be a couple of things — either exclusively an Ingrosso project or a new Swedish House Mafia song. Either way, the producer offers up a short clip of a new production below in a since deleted Instagram update. The vocalist is the focus, as he sings something along the lines of “I just wanna dance with you.” Across the board, fans on Reddit are hyped. “do we have any track info? i absolutely need this in my life,” one Redditor writes. “Sincerely hope this ingrosso music and not SHM music,” another states. “This sound like the good old time of electronic music, it’s so good. It’s like the 56th time that I listen to this preview.” Extremely clean and infectious, this is certainly the work of a pro. The only question is… Do you think this is Swedish House Mafia or just Ingrosso we’re hearing? 13. Sad news to report: Lucas Starr, the founding bassist of metalcore band Oh, Sleeper, has passed away at the age of 34. The musician died on December 7th, months after he was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Starr was a founding member of Oh, Sleeper, and appeared on the band’s first two albums, 2007’s When I Am God and 2009’s Son of the Morning, which were released via Solid State Records. He left the band in early 2011, prior to the recording and release of their third album, Children of Fire, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums chart. Prior to Oh, Sleeper, Starr was a member of the emo / post-hardcore band Terminal, who were also once known as Letter Twelve. Oh, Sleeper also features clean singer / guitarist Shane Blay, who was once a member of Between the Buried and Me, and who formed the band Wovenwar with the remaining members of As I Lay Dying after the latter band’s singer, Tim Lambesis, was arrested for attempting to hire a hitman to murder his estranged wife. Blay posted a tribute to Starr on Instagram, along with a photo of the bassist, stating, “I snapped this photo the first time our music took us overseas… sorry it’s shit.. you were always better at photos than me. At a loss for words right now, stage left will never be the same.” Oh, Sleeper have not released an album since Children of Fire, but are currently working on a new disc that will be titled Bloodied/Unbowed. Starr performed at a show on October 19th in Fort Worth, Texas, featuring both Oh, Sleeper and a reunited Terminal. He tweeted a photo from the gig, saying, “Overwhelmed by all the love and support last night. Wow. At a complete loss for words right now. I’m gonna need a minute to process everything.” Overwhelmed by all the love and support last night. Wow. At a complete loss for words right now. 16. There aren’t a lot of brands that have the reputation of Elrow. Renowned for its iconic event design that looks to do more than take you to another club night, the event, now 8 years old, transports you to a fantasy dimension. Enhancing the music and surroundings by creating a vibe that’s completely unique and genuinely unparalleled. It’s a bit flashy and a bit hedonistic but there’s more than meets the eye to this internationally renowned phenomenon. Simply put, Elrow is single handedly one of the most important institutions in Global nightlife right now and we’re here to tell you why. It’s focussed on the punters not the DJ Most party’s you go to in the world are the same, a big hall or d-floor with lasers and a show from behind a figure made out to be a god AKA the DJ. Elrow directors have made a point of creating more of a big party, instead of a concert. A lot of clubs could take a leaf out of this book. Events are there to be enjoyed by the party-goer. You go for the experience that the music is there to enhance, you don’t go along to ogle at the DJ for 6 hours. In saying that, they don’t skimp out on talent to headline their shows, notably their upcoming Aussie shows have John Digweed in the driver’s seat. Unrivalled props Following on from the theme of not worshipping the DJ, the crew at Elrow have thousands of costumes and props littered worldwide ready for their regularly held events. They use these to create a separate world, through unique themes, to level up the visual and physical dimensions, when events say that they offer a truly immersive experience, this is what they should be providing. The props are also used to accompany the employed performers and different ongoing interactions throughout the venue that split your focus between all the encompassing elements of the party. From stilt walkers and puppets to next level animations and confetti, their prop game has an unrivalled hold on the nightlife market, with no one really stepping up to challenge them. They’re in it for the right reason The electronic music industry is one that chews up and spits out a lot who enter. The nightlife sector is a cruel mistress sometimes, and those that come in with a purely profit based MO are often left in the dust. These guys have a history in the industry spanning as far back as 1870. Elrow creators’ great-great-great-great-grandfather José Satorres set the whole thing into motion opening the first social club in Fraga, Spain: the Café Josepet in 1870. From humble beginnings as a Spanish family that wanted to increase social activity in an old town, the current day iteration of Elrow follows the vibe of bringing together people socially, only on a much grander scale. As people who have been in the industry for so long, it’s easy to see the passion they hold for dance music, events and everything they do! In addition to the absolute experience that Elrow strive to create through an unrivalled prop game, expert vibe curation and huge passion for the scene, they book some of the world’s biggest DJs. Don’t believe us? Peep the lineup for their upcoming Aussie events below. If you haven’t ever been to an Elrow event it’s a do before you die experience, check out the events here(Sydney) and here(Melbourne). You can grab tickets to Sydney here and Melbourne here! 17. The Pitch: After the events of Justice League, Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) returns to his life of drinking and busting low-level pirates. However, he’s soon summoned by Princess Mera (Amber Heard) to return to Atlantis to claim his rightful place upon the throne and stop half-brother Orm (Patrick Wilson) from gathering the various tribes of Atlantis for war with the surface world. To do that, he’ll need to search for the Trident of Atlan (a weapon that will grant him the power to look more like he did in the comics) while reckoning with the vengeful pirate Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) and the specter of his long-missing mother Atlanna (Nicole Kidman). My Man!: “I’m a blunt instrument, and I’m damn good at it,” brags Arthur in one moment of James Wan’s Aquaman. This isn’t the first Hollywood attempt to turn Momoa into a bankable star – does anyone else remember the reboot of Conan the Barbarian he did in 2011? – but it does make the best use of his particular set of skills. He’s a hulking, formidable presence who can also be a gentle giant when the occasion calls for it. As Arthur, he gives a performance not unlike Andre the Giant’s in The Princess Bride, cracking skulls and wise in equal measure. Whether he’s finding several excuses to be shirtless and soaked, or taking selfies with a biker gang in an inspired gag, the character of Arthur Curry might be the best use of Momoa’s very specific brand of lunkhead charm. Where he falters, though, is in the big dramatic moments, as Aquaman doggy-paddles toward something of a character arc for Arthur that basically amounts to Wet Thor. He’s a hulking brute, destined to rule a futuristic kingdom, but has to humble himself and learn how to be a better hero before he can defeat his scheming, manipulative half-brother who also has eyes on the throne. Sound familiar? However, the arc seems perfunctory, Arthur not changing so much as grunting toward growth as the film barrels onward to the next gorgeously-rendered setpiece. In that respect, it’s a blessing that Aquaman’s second act largely manifests that as an erstwhile Indiana Jones adventure, with Momoa bouncing charmingly off Heard’s resolute mermaid Mera. This is also paired with an under-baked subplot involving Black Manta, who seeks revenge against Curry for getting his father killed through neglect. While the setpiece that results (a rollicking chase through Sicily dodging Orm’s aquatic goons) is the film’s best, it’s also the most unnecessary. YAYUH!: The real appeal of Aquaman comes down to director James Wan, who goes full bore with all the Silver Age pulp the source material has to offer. At two and a half hours, the film is an absolute mess of clunky dialogue and convoluted worldbuilding, haphazardly juggling more than a half-dozen subspecies of Atlanteans, bounty hunters, and centuries-old prophecies. Even so, Wan glides through these plot points with all the carefree elan of a school of dolphins, turning his focus to making every action beat, every joke, every piece of Atlantean production design as ridiculous as possible. Aquaman makes for the kind of earnestly goofy Flash Gordon nonsense that elevated Jupiter Ascending, Tron: Legacy, and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (all of which act as clear, generous inspirations for Wan’s vision of the undersea world). His Atlantis a colorful, deliberate departure from the dimness of the DCEU to date, filling the screen with bioluminescent aquatic vehicles and incredible pops of color. And Now, a Brief List of Just Some of the Goofy Shit You’ll See in Aquaman: -An octopus plays the drums. -A goat does a double take. -Giant sea turtles being used as cargo haulers. -People firing machine guns and rocket launchers inside the world’s roomiest submarine, apparently to no ill effect. -Armies of giant crabs fight fish-men who shoot underwater lasers while riding sharks. -Characters say things like “Where I come from, the sea carries our tears away”. -Two words: WINE KNIVES. Not wine bottle knives; knives made of wine. -Patrick Wilson wears this mask in complete sincerity. The Verdict: Aquaman is a pure piece of bright, ridiculous spectacle, hammering its Saturday morning cartoon sensibilities down its audience’s throat with a huge, cheesy grin on its face. While it’s not nearly as smart or progressive as last year’s Wonder Woman, Aquaman is a gleeful outlet for those who still hold a special place in their heart for over-designed space operas likeJupiter Ascending or Flash Gordon. There’s still room at the table for Arthur Curry to flash his big meathead grin at people and bonk them on the head. 18. Along with Radiohead, Nick Cave is one of the most prominent artists to decry Roger Waters’ cultural boycott of Israel, an act encouraged by the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement in an effort to secure Palestinians greater equality under Israeli law. Last year, Cave went through with two concerts in Tel Aviv and traded words with Brian Eno, another BDS member. Cave said his concerts served as “a principled stand against anyone who wants to censor and silence musicians.” Eno responded by saying the boycott has “nothing to do with ‘silencing’ artists — a charge I find rather grating when used in a context where a few million people are permanently and grotesquely silenced.” Now, the two are back in conversation about the boycott, with Cave sharing an e-mail he wrote to the producer via his Q&A series Red Hand Files. “I do not support the current government in Israel, yet do not accept that my decision to play in the country is any kind of tacit support for that government’s policies,” he writes. “Nor do I condone the atrocities that you have described; nor am I ignorant of them.” Cave goes on to add that he’s raised roughly £150,000 for the children of Palestine via the Hoping Foundation, so “I have already played the other side.” “But I also do not support the Boycott, Divestments and Sanctions movement, as you know. I think the cultural boycott of Israel is cowardly and shameful,” his email continues. “What we actually have here is a fundamental difference of opinion as to what the purpose of music is.” In a note to fans shared alongside the e-mail, Cave praises Eno’s influence on him, but also elaborates on his thoughts on the boycott. “How far must we have strayed from the transformative nature of music to feel justified in weaponising music and using it to punish ordinary Israeli citizens for the actions of their government,” he writes. “Furthermore, what has brought us to the point where certain musicians feel it is ethically sound to use forms of coercion and intimidation, in the form of ‘open’ letters, on fellow musicians who don’t agree with their point of view?” “Occasionally, I wonder if The Bad Seeds did the right thing in playing Israel,” he writes as a conclusion. “I cannot answer that question. I understand and accept the validity of many of the arguments that are presented to me. Indeed, some of my dearest friends in the music industry found my decision very difficult to accept, but there it is, after much consideration the decision was made: I simply could not treat my Israeli fans with the necessary contempt to do Brian Eno’s bidding.” Read the full letter here. 20. Well, the Master of Horror John Carpenter isn’t the only one up for more Halloween. Jamie Lee Curtis has also now expressed interest in returning as gunslinger Laurie Strode. The problem is that she hasn’t been asked yet. In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the legendary Scream Queen admits she has “no idea” what is happening with the sequel, but contends that she’s “happy to do it”, that is “if David Gordon Green has a story to tell.” “This was an extraordinary experience,” Curtis reminisces, before admitting: “David was a fantastic director, writer, but obviously this 2018, 40th anniversary, was Laurie’s story, and obviously there are now other people’s stories that would need to get told. But Laurie’s story was told beautifully this year, and I would have no way of knowing how they would incorporate her into future.” Seeing how Curtis’ involvement was a major component in making Blumhouse’s sequel one of the highest grossing films of the year, let alone the genre, it’s only a matter of time before Curtis gets a call from the boogeyman again. While we all wait, revisit Sarah Kurchak’s mixed review, in addition to a three-hour dissection below via Halloweenies, Consequence of Sound’s Michael Myers podcast, which will soon be moving from Haddonfield, Illinois to Springwood, Ohio. 21. Earlier today, we reported that Cannibal Corpse guitarist Pat O’Brien was arrested for burglary and assault after allegedly entering a neighbor’s home without permission and shoving a woman to the floor, all while his own Northdale, Florida, home caught fire, complete with explosive ammunition inside. If that wasn’t bizarre enough, new details have emerged this afternoon in a television report from local NBC news station WFLA. O’Brien was brought into a Hillsborough County court, where he appeared before the judge wearing shackles and an anti-suicide vest. It was further reported that O’Brien charged at deputies with a knife when he was found hiding behind a fence, and had to be tased by officers in order to be detained. The veteran death-metal guitarist is facing a $50,000 bond, having been charged with burglary and assault for the alleged break-in, in addition to assaulting officers. He also has to undergo a drug test before posting bail. As previously reported, firefighters faced a tough battle putting out the blaze at O’Brien’s home, as it was filled with explosive ammunition. Cannibal Corpse are slated to open for Slayer in spring 2019 on the next North American leg of the thrash metal legends’ farewell tour. It is unknown at this time how the alleged crime will affect O’Brien’s status with the band. See the full local TV news report below. Source
  22. As they do every year, Djs From Mars have just dropped their Best Of 2018 Megamashup with 40 of this year’s biggest songs in five condensed minutes. Plenty of dance music tracks are peppered throughout, no doubt due to their infectious beats and constant BPM that’s able to carry so many other tracks along for the ride. Tiësto & Post Malone’s “Jackie Chan” is featured for the first quarter of the mix, along with Zedd, Grey, and Maren Morris’s “The Middle,” Dua Lipa’s “IDGAF,” Bruno Mars’ “Finesse” with Cardi B, and others. Other dance tracks featured include cuts by Diplo’s LSD supergroup, DJ Snake’s “Taki Taki,” Fisher’s “Losing It,” Marshmello and Anne-Marie’s “Friends,” and “One Kiss” from Dua Lipa and Calvin Harris, which is masterfully mashed up with Childish Gambino’s “This Is America” and more. Perhaps the best quality of the mashup is that it still rises to a climax like a typical track would, entering the final fourth of the track with quicker cuts, faster beats, and more emphatic sounds. The mashup is available to stream now below! Check it out. This article was first published on Your EDM. Source: Djs From Mars Drop Their Annual Best Of The Year Rewind Megamashup For 2018 Source
