The guy who took a pill in Ibiza to show Avicii he was cool — aka Mike Posner — is going full on Forrest Gump this year. And yes, we mean exactly what it sounds like. The famed singer-songwriter is embarking on a journey like never before. He’s about to travel across the country by foot. Apparently when you’re Mike Posner and you’ve run out of things to do, that’s the move. “I’m excited to announce that starting March 1, 2019, I will be walking across America,” Posner writes in the social post below. “I will start at the Atlantic Ocean and end at the Pacific ocean. The journey will take me most of my 31st year.” “You are welcome to join at any time,” he adds. “See you out there.” We can’t wait to see how long his beard grows. Zedd just topped off his massive year in the most creative and playful way possible. An art installation by Dante Dentoni composed almost entirely of LEGOs makes the perfect addition to the producer’s home — just look. “Soooo in love with this amazing new art installation at my house by @dantedentoniart!!!!” Zedd shares in a recent post. “He replaced a wall of mine with LEGOs and built in a bunch of hidden rooms, including Omnia, an overwatch room (hanamura pt. 2), an alien abduction and more…” There’s even a mini version of Zedd’s house hidden inside this LEGO masterpiece. The photos and footage have been making rounds on the internet for obvious reasons — the work is simply amazing and brings out the kid in everyone. Now, whenever Zedd goes to adjust his thermostat he’ll be subject to a world of imagination. Seriously, how much fun is this? After much anticipation, deadmau5 is about to make his theatrical debut. The trailer for Polar finally drops tomorrow and the film releases later this month. The Netflix feature is directed by renowned Swedish director and drummer Jonas Åkerlun. It’s a concept based upon the Dark Horse action noir graphic novel Polar: Came From the Cold by Victor Santos. The cast includes Mads Mikkelsen, Vanessa Hudgens, and Johnny Knoxville, among others. Note: Not to be confused with the upcoming Mads Mikkelsen film ‘Arctic.’ “When a retiring assassin realizes he’s the target of a hit,” the Netflix synopsis reads, “he winds up back in the game going head to head with an army of younger, ruthless killers.” The story line, which thrives on live action, mystery and intrigue, will be set to a custom body of specially crafted musical productions from deadmau5. Tomorrow we may have the first listen, so be sure to check back. Polar is set to premiere on Netflix on January 25, 2019. More details here. The arrival of Lifetime’s new docu-series, Surviving R. Kelly, has renewed scrutiny on R. Kelly’s many alleged sexual abuses against young women — as well as brought unwanted attention to the many musicians who have worked with Kelly in the past. Of the artists who were asked to appear in the series, only John Legend agreed to participate (he condemned Kelly as a “serial child rapist”). Now an interview featuring Chance the Rapper, conducted by Jamilah Lemieux of online magazine Cassius, has drawn controversy of its own. In the May 2018 interview, which was briefly featured in the finale of Surviving R. Kelly, Chance explains why he initially disregarded the controversy surrounding Kelly. “I didn’t value the accusers’ stories because they were black women,” he was quoted as saying. He goes on to call his 2015 record with Kelly, “Somewhere in Paradise”, a “mistake”. After drawing some criticism for his comments, Chance took to Twitter to clarify his position. “The quote was taken out of context, but the truth is any of us who ever ignored the R Kelly stories, or ever believed he was being setup/attacked by the system (as black men often are) were doing so at the detriment of black women and girls. I apologize to all of his survivors for working with him and for taking this long to speak out”. “Anyone mentioning that I have black women in my family is deliberately missing the point”, Chance added. “Regardless of the proximity of beneficial black women in your life, or being black yourself, we are all capable of subconsciously discrediting black women and their stories because its indoctrinated”. pic.twitter.com/bqbKlsDA9l — Chance The Rapper (@chancetherapper) January 6, 2019 Anyone mentioning that I have black women in my family is deliberately missing the point. Regardless of the proximity of beneficial BW in your life, or being black yourself, we are all capable of subconsciously discrediting BW and their stories because its indoctrinated. — Chance The Rapper (@chancetherapper) January 6, 2019 Lemieux also addressed the interview, saying Chance “spoke clearly and unequivocally in support of black women and the victims”. FYI, I conducted the interview with Chance in May. He spoke clearly and unequivocally in support of BW and the victims. https://t.co/uhTZT9TvEA — Jamilah Lemieux (@JamilahLemieux) January 6, 2019 In response to the ensuing discussion, Rolling Stone (which initially reported on the remarks as used in the Surviving R. Kelly interview) uploaded Lemieux’s full interview with Chance, and provided a transcription of his remarks. Find them in full below. “Making a song with R. Kelly was a mistake. At the time, it wasn’t even present in my mind that people could feel any type of way about his presence on a track of mine. Here’s the thing: I think for a long time I was only able to understand R. Kelly’s situation and presence in the world when it comes down to his trial and his accusations and his accusers as a victim. I don’t know if that’s because I’m from Chicago or because he made great music or because he is a black man. We’re programmed to really be hypersensitive to black male oppression. It’s just prevalent in all media, and when you see niggas getting beat up by the police … that’s like a scene you see … like slavery for a lot of people, they envision men in chains, but black women are exponentially [a] higher oppressed and violated group of people just in comparison to the whole world. Maybe I didn’t care because I didn’t value the accusers’ stories because they were black women. Usually, niggas that get in trouble for shit like this on their magnitude of celebrity, it’s light-skinned women or white women. That’s when it’s a big story. I’ve never really seen any pictures of R. Kelly’s accusers.” Source

Soulja Boy was involved in a “vary bad car accident” after his car was caught in a mudslide while driving in Malibu on Saturday night. The 28-year-old rapper retweeted a photo of cars stuck in sludge, adding, “My car got stuck too almost went into the ocean.” My car got stuck too almost went into the ocean https://t.co/ks4HlrsS9u — Soulja Boy (@souljaboy) January 6, 2019 Parts of California have become highly susceptible to flash floods and mudslides following a number of devastating wildfires late last year. Heavy rains caused last night’s mudslide in Malibu, prompting California Highway Patrol to close a section of the Pacific Coast Highway. Unfortunately for Soulja Boy, it seems the CHP’s actions came too little too late. Source

It’s been a long, long time coming, but Seven Lions, Wooli, and Trivecta’s “Island” with Nevve is finally out. This is one of those tracks that fans have been pining after for months — but does it stand up to the hype? Yes, yes it does. The mix of each producer’s input is brilliantly distinct, with Seven Lions’ own blend of dubstep and melodic, Wooli’s filth, and Trivecta’s blend of the two. The beautifully melodic first and third drops are more than worth the wait alone, as they embody Seven Lions’ and Trivecta’s styles the most directly. The second, more dubstep drop of the bunch is personally my least favorite of the bunch. The entirely atonal drop, devoid of any melody, when it’s surrounded by such a surplus, mostly just takes me out of the immersion. Though, having heard “Island” live, I can still confirm it is incredible surrounded by a group of people going absolutely wild. It’s a small criticism, and a personal one at that, but still something. Listen to “Island” by Seven Lions, Wooli, and Trivecta’s with Nevve in full below! Coachella dropped it’s 2019 lineup this week with headliners Childish Gambino, Tame Impala, and Ariana Grande. Plus, plenty of electronic surprises — most notably, Gesaffelstein and Aphex Twin. However, the internet has its own ideas of a Coachella lineup. As always, the fake posters have circulated and the people have spoken. The true “fake” headliners include the queen Ariana Grande (because even if it’s a fake lineup, she’s still headlining), Spice Girls, Guy Fieri, and 2Pac’s Hologram. If some of these sound familiar, it’s because Twitter seems to be circulating fake lineups from years past. One of the most recent, newly updated fake Coachella lineups appears to be the one in which XXXtenaction summons himself as satan, Ryan Reynolds stars as Pikachu, and 6ix9ine performs live from jail. Hey, at least it’s original. Other highlights include Sandra Bullock in a Blindfold, Robyn (we wish), and did we mention Guy Fieri? See ’em all below! On Thursday, Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was officially sworn into Congress, changing history as the youngest woman to ever have a seat. Most would agree that’s something worth celebrating. Of course, this being Trump’s America, no good thing ever goes unspoiled, and naturally, some right-wing troll attempted to ruin her day by sharing a video in which she’s parodying The Breakfast Club by dancing to Phoenix’s “Lisztomania”. “Here is America’s favorite commie know-it-all acting like the clueless nitwit she is,” @AnonymousQ1776 tweeted with the edited video, which dates back to 2009, when Ocasio-Cortez was an undergraduate at Boston University. As expected, the entire plan backfired and only helped humanize the politician, who has since received digital high fives from all over the Internet, including from the very entertainers that inspired her to create the video. Film stars Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy invited her to join The Breakfast Club, while the French rockers offered their own congratulations, both of which you can see below. No word yet on members of War, who she recently danced to on Thursday. https://t.co/acxn32yhxO — ally sheedy (@allysheedy1) January 4, 2019 @AOC , Congratulations on being the youngest woman ever being elected to Congress! While studies have confirmed that attending live shows can add years to your life, recent headlines have proven that they can also be a dangerous place. Coachella is well aware of that, which is why they’re taking steps to ensure a safe experience. As the Los Angeles Times points out (via Pitchfork), the festival has announced a new initiative for this coming year called Every One, with the sole focus and purpose is to combat incidents of assault and harassment at the festival. “We are pushing ourselves and our guests to do better and to be better,” a post on the initiative reads on the Coachella website. “We are taking deliberate steps to develop a festival culture that is safe and inclusive for everyone. Persons of any gender identity or expression, sex, sexual orientation, race, religion, age or ability are welcome at Coachella.” The post insists that, “Coachella will NOT tolerate any form of assault or harassment, be it sexual, physical or verbal. Anyone found to be in violation of this policy is subject to immediate removal from the festival site and law enforcement may be notified.” To carry this out, the festival has appointed Trained Safety Ambassadors, who will be around the park to “facilitate access to care services for anyone in distress,” specifically Every One tents “for anyone that needs extra support or a quiet moment away.” In a further attempt to present a more inclusive experience, the festival will offer gender-neutral restrooms on the grounds for the first time ever. Earlier this week, the festival announced its incredible lineup, which writer John Flynn praised as being “truly robust and culturally aware.” Childish Gambino, Tame Impala, and Ariana Grande headline the two weekends, beginning Friday, April 12th. Chance the Rapper and Sesame Street make total sense. He’s written an album called Coloring Book, he’s always been there for the kids, and he’s the kind of humanitarian the show loves to make an example of for young minds. On Saturday, Lil Chano from 79th left his Chicago neighborhood for the popular fictional street, where he helped Elmo put on a play in a segment titled, “T is for Theater”. Let’s just say, he learns it takes a lot to be a Cookie Monster. Watch the cute segment below. More recently, Chance made headlines when video surfaced of him saving a victim out of a burning car, which is apparently how he spent his Easter Sunday in 2018. What a guy. Source

Video of Drake kissing and groping underage girl has surfaced
News posted a topic in DJ Headquarters
A video of Drake kissing and groping an underage girl has surfaced on the internet in recent days. The clip, which dates back to 2010, shows Drake, then 24, dancing with a girl on stage during a concert. At various points in the video, he kisses and caresses her breasts. “Y’all gon’ have me get carried away. I get in trouble for shit like this. How old are you?” the rapper says, at which point he learns she’s only 17. “I can’t go to jail yet, man,” Drake responds. “Why do you look like that? You thick. Look at all this. Well, listen 17, I had fun. I don’t know whether I should feel guilty or not, but I had fun. I like the way your breasts feel against my chest. I just want to thank you.” He then proceeds to kiss her once more. drake kisses underage girl, learns she’s underage, then kisses her again but this time feels her breasts pic.twitter.com/oLkxZccHiS — SPOOK GOD ALLAH (@thespookgod) January 4, 2019 This is not the first time Drake has drawn scrutiny over his interactions with underaged girls. Last year, it was revealed that Drake, now 32, texts frequently with Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, who is 14. The video also arrives as another prominent musical artist, R. Kelly, is the subject of multi-part docu-series shinning a light on his own allegations of sexual misconduct and pedophilia. Source -
Whoever’s running Wendy’s Twitter account has likely been to a few Warped Tours, as evidenced by the number of metalcore, emo and pop-punk bands the hamburger chain roasted yesterday in celebration of #NationalRoastDay. If the goal was to use the campaign to appeal to the Hot Topic demographic, Wendy’s did its job, poking fun at such acts as Miss May I, Atreyu, Beartooth, Chelsea Grin, State Champs, Knocked Loose, The Browning, and Attila frontman Chris Fronzak, among others. Hell, they even went after the intergalactic beasts of GWAR, for good measure. Among the best zingers was telling CKY’s Matt Deis, “We were trying to listen to some of your music but couldn’t find our Zune”, and informing Victory Records, “We need somebody to pick up this leftover stack of samplers from the early 2000s. It’s like emo AOL minutes.” Hopeless Records didn’t fair any better, being on the receiving end of this doozy: “Literally don’t have enough eyeliner for this right now.” In fairness, some of these bands and labels asked to be roasted once they saw what was transpiring on the Wendy’s Twitter account, but gotta give the burger joint some big-time props for the witty insults. When one person asked, “Damn, who’s the scene kid writing for Wendys,” he got the brilliant response, “Gotta get this hair swipe outta my face.” Check out a bunch of Wendy’s #NationalRoastDay tweets below. — matt deis (@mattdeis) January 4, 2019 And we need somebody to pick up this leftover stack of samplers from the early 2000s. 2019 is starting with new goals, new outlooks, and new energy. Lots of artists are setting new resolutions for themselves and taking their time; others are hitting the ground running. Lost Kings find themselves firmly in the latter category, as they’ve just released their new EP Paper Crowns via Disruptor Records. The EP features three previously released singles, plus a new song “Don’t Kill My High” with Wiz Khalifa and Social House. That single was featured today on Times Square’s Spotify billboard for all to see, proving just how much they’ve put into the track — and it shows. It’s definitely a bop. Additionally, the EP will add two brand new tracks in the coming weeks. Next Friday, January 11, the guys will release “Anti-Everything” featuring the massively successful musical.ly star Loren Gray; and on January 18th, they will release “F**k U 4 Everything” ft. English singer/songwriter Lauren Aquilina. Listen to the new EP below! Photo via Rukes.com This article was first published on Your EDM. Indie rock is such a precious term. Don’t you hate it? It’s annoying, isn’t it? Alas, that’s what we’ve been stuck with, but if it means we get to bundle artists as great and as eccentric as the ones you’re about to read ahead, then we’re good. Over the years, indie rock has been completely marginalized by the industry, sent off to the fringe as fans and publications and marketers capitalize on more blockbuster genres like hop-hop and pop. But … that’s a good thing. That’s kind of the point. Indie rock by its very name alone stresses that kind of marginalization. It belongs in the corner, it thrives in that space, and right now being the underdog makes these artists all the more intriguing. Based on the slate for 2019, these underdogs are downright rabid, like little Cujos, running around and ready to take all the right kind of risks. We’ve only heard a few, admittedly, but what we’re hearing is very, very promising. –Michael Roffman Editor-in-Chief __________________________________________________________ Deerhunter – Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared? Release Date: 1/18 via 4AD Why We’re Excited: Well, technically, we’ve been excited for nearly a year. Because if you recall, Deerhunter teased Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared? way, way back in April, only to delay the thing until this month. Whatever! That’s fine! After all, they spent all summer testing the new material, and really there’s no such thing as too much hype, especially for an album of this magnitude. Spanning 10 tracks and produced by the band’s own Ben Etter, their first album in four years features an assist behind the boards by Grammy-winner Ben H. Allen III and the production talents of both Cate Le Bon and White Fence‘s Tim Presley. Having heard the album, we can confirm it’s a vivid and lush affair that was well worth the wait. –Michael Roffman Sample: __________________________________________________________ Sharon Van Etten – Remind Me Tomorrow Release Date: 1/18 via Jagjaguwar Why We’re Excited: Sharon Van Etten’s been around these past few years, be it Twin Peaks or in headlines announcing her new child, but her absence has been felt musically. What’s extraordinary about Remind Me Tomorrow, then, is that these songs capture that “lost” time. “I wrote this record while going to school, pregnant, after taking The OA audition,” she says. “This record is about pursuing your passions.” Those passions have since lead to a complete departure for Etten, who initially gave producer John Congleton music by Suicide, Portishead, and Nick Cave as reference points. All three factor heavily into the album, which, no lie, sounds like her own OK Computer. It’s new territory for Van Etten, and she doesn’t sound lost in the slightest. –Michael Roffman Sample: __________________________________________________________ Maggie Rogers – Heard It in a Past Life Release Date: 1/18 via Capitol Records Why We’re Excited: The start to Maggie Rogers’ career, as we know it, has a fairy tale quality to it. The singer-songwriter attended a masterclass with special guest Pharrell Williams at NYU a few years ago, and the video of the artist/producer-extraordinaire gushing over “Alaska” went viral. An EP, several charting singles, a few major late-night gigs (including SNL) later, and Rogers is one of the biggest pop stars in the world without a proper full-length. That all changes in a couple weeks when Heard It in a Past Life — which features a couple old hits mixed with a collection of new songs — gets into our hands. Rogers has made an early name for herself by finding a unique mix of folk, dance, and the great outdoors in her sound. Now, we find out if the magic of her singles can translate across an entire record. –Matt Melis Sample: __________________________________________________________ Panda Bear – Buoys Release Date: 2/8 via Domino Why We’re Excited: There’s a lot to celebrate in early 2019 if you’re Panda Bear aka Noah Lennox. Both Lennox’s solo debut as Panda Bear and Animal Collective’s landmark Merriweather Post Pavilion celebrate birthdays that are big, round numbers divisible by ten. But no doubt more important to Lennox — and more exciting to his fans — is the celebration of his first LP since 2015’s memorable Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper. Buoys will be out in early February, features both Chilean and Portuguese guests, and, according to Lennox, “feels like something new” rather than a continuation of his last few records. While we wait impatiently, at least we can check out the experimental lead single, “Dolphin”. –Matt Melis Sample: __________________________________________________________ Vampire Weekend Vampire Weekend, Lollapalooza 2018, photo by Heather Kaplan Release Date: TBD Why We’re Excited: There are a few reasons why we’re chomping at the bit to hear the fourth album from Vampire Weekend. For starters, the band hasn’t released a new record since 2013’s Modern Vampires of the City, which was a lifetime ago, but more importantly, they haven’t dropped any new music since the departure of founding member Rostam Batmanglij in 2016. That’s a big deal, but we’re not sweating. Ezra Koenig is a smart guy, and he’s certainly experienced life over the last half-decade, from welcoming his first child with actress Rashida Jones to rallying on behalf of Bernie Sanders to hitting the stacks for grad school. There are plenty of stories for him to tell, and we just can’t wait to hear ’em. –Michael Roffman __________________________________________________________ Thom Yorke Thom Yorke, photo by Heather Kaplan Release Date: TBD Why We’re Excited: After bringing elegance to last year’s unnerving Suspiria, Thom Yorke will return with some more original music, only he has his eyes on the world rather than, say, a European ballerina school from the ’70s. “I didn’t have the wish to make politically charged music, but everything I do goes that way anyways,” Yorke explained to El Mondo back in October. “I’m trying to finish a record with Nigel [Godrich], and it’s going that way. It’s something that’s always there.” Although he says the album’s “very electronic,” he contends that the approach “has been the opposite of depending on computers,” leaning more on reconstructing the deconstructed. Over the past year, Yorke has debuted several new songs in solo concerts, which will presumably find their way onto the forthcoming album. Or not. Who knows until we know with this guy. –Michael Roffman Sample?: __________________________________________________________ James Blake James Blake, photo by Nina Corcoran Release Date: 1/25 via Universal Music Why We’re Excited: It’s not like James Blake ever really goes away. You just need to know where to look for him. For instance, while Blake didn’t release his full-length follow-up to 2016’s The Colour in Anything in 2018, he did produce, write, or feature on records by no less than Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, Travis Scott, and Oneohtrix Point Never, all of which can be counted among last year’s best. But, yeah, we get it. It’s not quite the same as a new Blake LP, so, yes, we’re also damn excited to see what journey his new album, Assumed Form, will take us on later this month. In the meantime, revisit the first single below, and whatever you do, don’t call it “sad boy” music. –Matt Melis Sample: __________________________________________________________ Jenny Lewis – On the Line Jenny Lewis, photo by Ben Kaye Release Date: TBD Why We’re Excited: Besides bringing big sunglasses and more fringe than that western shop at the nearly abandoned mall that only sells cowboy attire (you know the one), Jenny Lewis always brings large expectations when she announces a new record. The former child star has become that songwriter who can meet at the confluence of indie rock, alt country, and pop and hold her own in whichever genre(s) she decides to put her boot down in. What do we know so far about Lewis’ first full-length in five years? Not a lot, but more than enough to start getting excited. The 11-track record, On the Line, was produced by Don Was, should be in our hands this spring, and features assists from no less than Ryan Adams, Beck, and Ringo Starr. Like I said, enough to start getting excited! –Matt Melis __________________________________________________________ The Raconteurs The Raconteurs Release Date: TBD Why We’re Excited: Out of every act on this list, The Raconteurs have certainly been out of the spotlight the longest. In fact, the last time these guys released an album — 2008’s Consolers of the Lonely — this very site wasn’t even a year old yet. How about them apples? Rotten, indeed. Well, kudos on them because they’re back — specifically, Brendan Benson, Jack White, Jack Lawrence, and Patrick Keeler — with their highly anticipated follow-up. Granted, we still have no clue when the goddamn thing will drop, but it’ll certainly be this year, and we know this because they’ve already dropped two new singles and have plans to tour. Eleven years, man. Christ, where does time go? –Michael Roffman Sample: __________________________________________________________ Tame Impala Tame Impala Release Date: TBD Why We’re Excited: Tame Impala has no doubt been trending on search engines recently like the band hasn’t in a few years. And all we can say is, isn’t it nice to have more Kevin Parker to talk about? As much as we love Justin Timberlake (best friends forever, Justin!), tapping Parker as his last-minute replacement to headline Coachella feels more like a landslide victory than a bailout — one that proves the festival in the desert still cares about its rocking roots. And then to learn that Parker plans to bring Tame’s first record since the remarkable Currents to fans this year — and probably before Coachella — well, it’s Christmas come late or, um, early, or, um, does it even matter? Thanks, Santa! –Matt Melis Source

Though the Coachella lineup was dropped two days ago, people are still poring over all the names in an effort to find new favorites or potential must-sees they might have overlooked. One name that caught would-be attendees attention was ‘Gucci Gang‘ on Sunday. Apart from being the title of a hit Lil Pump song, there’s no artist actually named Gucci Gang. So what gives? The obvious and first guess was that this was a typo of Gucci Mane. Clicking on the name Gucci Gang on the Coachella website conjured up a picture of the Atlanta rapper, so it seemed case closed. But he was second line in 2017. To drop so far, even though he hadn’t done enough realistically to stay second line, was drastic. People weren’t satisfied. As it turns out, it was an error — but it wasn’t a typo. The landing page for Gucci Mane was still missing two more artists: Lil Pump and Smokepurpp. Turns out, Gucci Gang is a new collaborative venture for the three artists. Neither Gucci Mane nor Lil Pump have made any mention of the billing on social media, but Smokepurpp has been pushing it hard, so it’s all but confirmed. Check out the full lineup here! Tickets went on sale this morning and will likely be sold out by the end of the day, if they aren’t already. This article was first published on Your EDM. Berlin gets cold in the winter. A 14-day forecast from today reveals temperatures ranging from 27 degrees Fahrenheit during the night to a high of 45 degrees during the day. For many people, they can afford to bundle up or work in heated buildings and drive in heated vehicles. For Berlin’s homeless population, the weather can be deadly. Thankfully, the city’s nightclubs are standing up and doing something about it. Two clubs in the Kreuzberg-Friedrichshain (the second borough of Berlin), Astra Kulturhaus and Bi Nuu, will take days out of they regular show schedule to open their doors to the homeless, offering a warm place to sleep for the night. No mention of food was made in the reports. No exact statistics exist on the number of homeless in the city, but estimates suggest the number is around 10,000. Sara Luhmann, a spokesperson for the district where the two nightclubs are located, told Der Tagesspiegel, a German daily newspaper: “It’s great when nightclubs make such offers and take on social responsibility. We are happy about every additional offer to further expand the number of cold weather places.” H/T Far Out | Photo via brownpau This article was first published on Your EDM. Today is a big day for Avicii and Nicky Romero’s throwback hit “I Could Be The One.” The massive song has racked up over 200 million streams on Spotify and counting. Back in 2012, no one could have anticipated what these superstar producers would accomplish, or the legacy Avicii would leave behind years later. Now, we’re left with this timeless track. “2 kids on the block, no managers involved,” Nicky writes in the post below. The photo is worth a thousand words, featuring the two young DJ/producers conversing backstage at a music festival. “This song would have never been this big without you,” he continues. “Wish you were here to celebrate.” Just try to look at this and not get the feels… 2 kids on the block, no managers involved. Today ‘I COULD BE THE ONE’ reached 200M streams on Spotify since its release in 2012, so so thankful to everyone who supported us. Insomniac Events is the biggest promoter of electronic dance music in the entire United States. Based out of Los Angeles, CA, a lot of their events stay close to home, but they’ve expanded over the years to events in Michigan (Electric Forest), Florida (EDC Orlando and Holy Ship!), and Texas (hopefully, if Middlelands ever comes back). With so many events to keep track of and look forward to, something like a calendar is necessary. Thankfully, Insomniac has our back. These calendars (below) were handed out at Countdown NYE this year and reveal every Insomniac festival coming in 2019! We can see Holy Ship! sailing in January, EDC Las Vegas in bold yellow in May, and HARD Summer on August 3-4. It also appears that HARD Day of the Dead is returning to two days in 2019, and Insomniac isn’t making the mistake of putting Escape and DOTD on back-to-back weekends a second time. Nocturnal is coming back in September, and Beyond is returning in March, with the new addition of Beyond Wonderland Monterrey in Mexico on April 6. See the full calendar below and start saving up! January 5-9, January 9-12: Holy Ship! Dave Mustaine recently announced he was taking a break from social media for a while to concentrate on Megadeth‘s upcoming 16th album, and now it looks like the thrash metal titans are ready to make a big announcement very shortly. The band posted a brief teaser clip showing vintage bomber footage for about 15 seconds before a riff from the Rust in Peace track “Take No Prisoners” kicks in, along with the caption “January 11th”. Whether it’s a big announcement or a new song remains to be seen, but something’s definitely cooking in the Megadeth I am a fagget. We’ll find out a week from today what it all means. Beginning in May, they will provide direct support for Ozzy Osbourne on the next North American leg of the latter’s “No More Tours 2” trek.
