Hello Coachella 2019 lineup and Thank U, Next to nothing this lineup will easily let me drop all real life responsibilities. Yes, that was a Ariana Grande reference since she (basic Queen) will just be one of the many boundless list of artists. Coachella 2019 lineup Photo via Coachella Facebook Coachella 2019 lineup playlist: Coachella has been around for a long time approaching its 20th annual festivities, it has continued to build off the hype from years prior. Weekends here have now become prestigious for reunions and live collaborations- years from now we can tell our grand-kids how we saw Yoncé bring back Destiny’s Child. Some legends who have claimed their ‘Chella spots are Paul McCartney, Drake, Calvin Harris and Frank Ocean. Photo via Coachella Facebook Photo via Coachella Facebook For the 2019 lineup, we have a range of emotions. Kid Cudi performing once again makes our hearts cry for a hug and we always need a refresher on the mind-blogging impact of Bassnectar. Although it is very unlikely for Pete to display thousands-of-dollars-worth of roses onstage for Ariana, similar to Offset and Cardi, we have high hopes for a Ricky appearance! Akin to last year, this is a two weekend festival. Don’t get confused, these are indeed the same exact artists playing at both weekends, so don’t fret! For weekend-one, the shows go on April 12th-14th and as for weekend-two, the dates are April 19th-21st. For information on tickets and the site for Coachella, click here. Disturbed are about to kick off their biggest North American tour of their career, headlining major arenas in support of their latest album, Evolution, which arrived in October. The trek launches tomorrow night, January 9th, in San Diego, California, with fellow heavy hit-makers Three Days Grace providing support throughout the jaunt. We caught up with Disturbed frontman David Draiman to not only talk about the tour, but to discuss Evolution, the first single “Are You Ready”, and the headline-making comment Draiman made to Metal Hammer about the new disc, when he said, “To me, this is our ‘Black Album’,” referencing Metallica’s multiplatinum 1991 self-titled disc. In the video interview below, Draiman explains the “Black Album” comment, saying, “The thick irony about that is that everybody took one little blurb form a three-page article in Metal Hammer and reposted it in every single publication in existence, and then it makes it seem that I’m telling everybody that this is our ‘Black Album’.” He continues, “What did it symbolize for Metallica? It opened the doors for them. It took them to the next level. It enabled them to expand their fan base dramatically … and that is my hope for this record. We truly feel that this is the strongest body of work we’ve ever created.” As far as the tour is concerned, Draiman tells us, “Each one of these performances will span about two hours. It will go through our entire discography … It’ll incorporate aspects of production that we’ve never attempted,” adding, “It’s going to be an experience for fans … that is unlike anything they’ve ever seen.” See more of Draiman’s thoughts on those subjects, as well as achieving a platinum album with Immortalized and more, in the video below, along with the dates for the band’s 2019 North American trek with Three Days Grace. Tickets for all shows are available here, while the band’s Evolution album can be ordered at this location. One of the central questions posed in the new R. Kelly docu-series, Surviving R. Kelly, is how the R&B singer and accused predator has managed to avoid criminal prosecution for two decades. Now, though, TMZ reports that authorities in Georgia, where Kelly’s keeps his primary residence, have begun a criminal investigation into the various allegations made in the docu-series. The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office reportedly opened an investigation in response to the stories of assault, imprisonment, and other misconduct detailed in Surviving R. Kelly. Additionally, investigators received a number of phone calls once the docu-series aired, according to TMZ. Several of the women featured in Surviving R. Kelly have already been contacted by authorities, including Asante McGee, who says she was kept by Kelly as a “sex slave.” Relatives of Joycelyn Savage, one of the women said to be currently living under Kelly’s control, are also expected to be interviewed as part of the investigation. Update – Jan 8th at 6:00 p.m. ET: Prosecutors in Cook County, IL are asking Kelly’s alleged victims to “please come forward” in order to initiate an investigation. So far, the State Attorney’s Office has been contacted by two families looking for missing women who may have been at Kelly’s home in Chicago. The State Attorney’s Office has not yet launched a formal investigation, but that could soon change. For his part, Kelly maintains his innocence and contends the docu-series is a “vendetta” against him by individuals who “hated him throughout his professional career.” He previously threatened to “sue everybody” involved and also launched a website and Facebook page with the aim of discrediting his numerous accusers. It feels almost inappropriate to be talking so feverishly about HBO’s next series set in the Game of Thrones universe when the one currently on-air hasn’t even premiered its final season yet. But lo, the unyielding gears of commerce and franchise branding grind on regardless, and so news continues to roll out about the 5,000-years-earlier GoT prequel. The show is still officially untitled (current buzz has it dubbed The Long Night), but the rest of the pieces seem to be coming into place. After previous news confirmed Jane Goldman as the new series’ showrunner, British director S.J. Clarkson (whose credits include Jessica Jones, Orange is the New Black, and Dexter) has reportedly been picked to helm the pilot. Clarkson, who is also currently set to direct the next Star Trek movie, will look to shoot the episode later this year. EW reports that a substantial group of actors have also joined the series alongside the previously announced Naomi Watts. Naomi Ackie (the forthcoming Star Wars: Episode IX), Denise Gough (Juliet, Naked), Jamie Campbell Bower (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’s Young Grindelwald), Sheila Atim (Hulu’s Harlots), Ivanno Jeremiah (AMC’s Humans, Black Mirror), Georgie Henley (Lucy from the Narnia series), Alex Sharp (How to Talk to Girls at Parties) and Toby Regbo (Fantastic Beasts’ Young Dumbledore) are all set for the forthcoming production. Their roles are as under wraps as anything out about the series at this point. Given the staggering difference in premises between the shows, HBO finds itself in the rare position of being able to take Game of Thrones just about anywhere they please. Game of Thrones will begin its final season in April, and the new series will presumably appear sometime in 2020. Source

New Jersey Senator Corey Booker is widely considered to be a Democratic presidential frontrunner for 2020. Beyond the real-world political implications of a Booker victory, it could also mean a new title for actress Rosario Dawson: First Lady. According to Page Six, Booker and Dawson are dating, and apparently things have gotten pretty serious. The couple was spotted out and about in New York City over the weekend and attended a Broadway performance of Dear Even Hanson. Like Booker, Dawson falls on the left side of the political spectrum. A self-proclaimed political activist, she previously endorsed Barack Obama and Bernie Sanders for president. If she and Booker were to remain together through next summer, Dawson could very well find herself immersed in the chaos of a president political campaign. Dawson previously dated comedian Eric Andre, but they broke up in late 2017. Perhaps now Andre will have a better chance getting into the DNC… Source

One of Chester Bennington’s last known recordings is now available for everyone to hear, as his collaboration with Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton has just been released. The song, “Cross Off”, appears on Morton’s collaborative album, Anesthetic, due out March 1st. Bennington recorded the track with Morton in the spring of 2017, just a few months before the Linkin Park singer tragically took his life in July of that year. Morton recently told Metal Hammer that he was impressed by Bennington’s work ethic. “He just had a lot of creative input at the ready when he came into the studio,” revealed That was my initial like, ‘Wow.’ He had told me he really liked the song, and we had communicated, but I’d never really hung out with Chester until when we started tracking.” He continued, “I was really impressed for a guy at his level, at the place in the career he was at, someone of his stature and celebrity, to have that level of humility and commitment to come in there and treat this like it would be a Linkin Park song.” The song was written by Morton, Bennington, Jake Oni and producer Josh Wilbur, and features Trivium members Paolo Gregoletto and Alex Bent on bass and drums, respectively. The track debuted on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show today, and can be heard in its entirety in the lyric video below. In an interview with Zane Lowe, Morton said of Chester, “He’s just got one of those voices, one of those once in an eon existence voices. It’s unmistakable. It’s just a God-given thing and you hear Chester and you know it’s Chester and such an amazing, powerful voice. So emotive as well. Just everything, it’s all there. Very personal and very unique.” As previously reported, Morton’s Anesthetic album also features collaborations with Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe, Slash / Alter Bridge singer Myles Kennedy, Papa Roach vocalist Jacoby Shaddix, former Screaming Trees singer Mark Lanegan, and more. Morton plays all guitars but the album also features instrumental contributions from Megadeth’s David Ellefson, Korn’s Ray Luzier, Alice in Chains’ Mike Inez and others. The first single, “Truth Is Dead”, featuring Blythe and Arch Enemy singer Alissa White-Gluz, was released last month. The label has announced Spying Through a Keyhole, a new 7-inch box set comprised entirely of early Bowie “Space Oddity”-era demos never before shared on physical format. Included amongst the tracks are demos of beloved Bowie songs like “Space Oddity”, “In the Heat of the Morning”, and “London Bye, Ta-Ta”. There are also rare songs “Mother Grey” (a “mid-tempo tale of a fledgling son fleeing the nest” with “multi-tracked vocals, guitars and harmonica from David”), “Love All Around” (a previously unknown “delightful love song” featuring the collection’s eponymous lyric), and two versions of “Angel, Angel, Grubby Face”. Clemson demolished Alabama on Monday night to win the 2019 National College Football Championship. The game may not have been much of a contest, but a much juicier showdown played out between Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin and Lil Wayne, who performed during the game’s halftime show alongside Imagine Dragons. While Lil Wayne’s choice of outfit was an easy target for the internet and fashion police, the Republican politician instead directly slammed the MC’s talents and questioned his status in the rap world. “Way to ruin an entertaining @Imaginedragons half-time concert with the weird rantings of a tired, has-been like @LilTunechi,” Bevin wrote on his personal Twitter account. “One act still rising… The other, not so much.” Way to ruin an entertaining @Imaginedragons half-time concert with the weird rantings of a tired, has-been like @LilTunechi… One act still rising…The other, not so much… — Matt Bevin (@MattBevin) January 8, 2019 Lil Tunechi may no longer be in his prime, but Bevin’s comment on Imagine Dragons being “still rising” should probably automatically cancel out his music criticism altogether (that or the fact that he called them “entertaining”). Imagine Dragons have been around since 2008 and their early 2012 hit “Radioactive” earned multiple Grammy nominations. Their debut album, released seven years ago, went on to become the fourth best-selling LP in the US in 2013. We’re going to assume Bevin has no clue about the importance of the release of Lil Wayne’s long-awaited Tha Carter V. Popularity also might not be something the Kentucky governor is exactly qualified to gauge. According to Louisville’s Courier-Journal, Bevin was recently named the fourth least popular governor in the entire country. Maybe it has to do with his out-of-touch views and mediocre grasp of pop culture as a whole; he’s repeatedly blamed video games, music lyrics, and even zombies (seriously) — but not the lack of gun control — for mass shootings. But OK, Bevin, keep going. Revisit the Clemson vs. Alabama halftime show below. Source

Sleater-Kinney have a new album on the way. Better yet, it’s produced by Annie Clark, a.k.a. St. Vincent. The as-yet-untitled LP marks Sleater-Kinney’s ninth album overall and follows the band’s 2015 reunion LP, No Cities to Love. In an interview with NPR, Sleater-Kinng’s Carrie Brownstein said of the their collaboration with Clark, “We always planned on getting back in the studio — it was just a matter of when. If there is an overarching principle to this album, it’s that the tools on which we were relying proved inadequate. So we sought new ones, both metaphorically and literally.” A release date is set for later this year. Sleater-Kinney. Produced by @st_vincent. 2019. Origins is a new music feature that finds an artist peeling back the curtain to reveal the inspirations behind their latest single. California rhythm and blues musician Nick Waterhouse has announced a new self-titled album. The soulful rocker’s follow-up to 2016’s Never Twice marks his fourth full-length overall and is set for a March 8th release via Innovative Leisure. The 11-track LP was recorded at Los Angeles’ iconic Electro-Vox Recorders alongside co-producer Paul Butler (Michael Kiwanuka, St. Paul and the Broken Bones). Joining Waterhouse in the studio were talented session players Bart Davenport, Flying Lotus collaborator Andres Renteria, flutist Ricky Washington (father of renowned saxophonist Kamasi Washington), and sax players Paula Henderson (Gogol Bordello) and Mando Dorame (JD McPherson). Even with all the support behind the scenes, there’s a reason the record is called Nick Waterhouse. As a press release puts it, the album “is a deeper reflection of the cultural and emotional firmament that has made Nick the artist he is today: his passions and influences; his love and outrage.” Lead single “Song for Winners” certainly sounds like the passionate conglomeration of influences from an outraged man. The track has a minacious saunter, Waterhouse’s fervent delivery cracking and biting under his frustration. Confident yet stern horns punctuate the song’s live sound as Waterhouse warns against becoming a victim of self-fulfilling prophecy. “Your experience of innocence has ended/ What a stately dance; I look at you and wonder/ Conjurer or victim of circumstance,” he sings. Listen below. For more on the cultural and artistic influences that led to “Song for Winners” — and, in their way, Nick Waterhouse as a whole — Waterhouse has revealed some of the track’s Origins. Read his fascinating takes on John Cassavetes, Southern California, and John Sinclair below. John Cassavetes and Cahiers du Cinéma: I am grouping these two because they serve the same purpose in my own artistic process and worldview. As a teenager with a library card and an internet connection I discovered the works of “system” exclusionaries on threadbare budgets that had enough energy, reverence, and motivation to execute their vision. Establishment types thought their work sucked and didn’t make any sense, or that it was too raggedy. These little renegade islands of means of production… Well, that was as much a mystery to be solved as any rock and roll or rhythm and blues record when you are sixteen years old. I would say now, with four albums done, there are even more parallels to these influences in my own work: a loose and recurring cast, a continued “made it by a hair” sense in every production, a set of themes and an atmosphere to each piece, and my own aesthetic (often mistaken for amateurish or slavish!). My songs probably share as much with the questions posed by these works than with the 1950s and ’60s songs one could superficially connect the dots to. Observation, and Maybe a Little Alienation: “I Am A Camera,” as Christopher Isherwood said in Goodbye to Berlin. Didion did it, Fitzgerald did it, Michael Herr did it. I may not be important, but I am present and interpreting. Part I: Southern California, as a Native Son: Laguna Beach in Southern California, photo by Don Graham Los Angeles is a very complicated Stupid Place. It’s a town full of Stupid Places; it’s perfect for our time. It has perfectly adapted with each decade of fantasia consumption, and now the tide has aligned with very vogue Sophisticated Consumers again. In reality it is a small slice of the population that is perfectly in tune with consuming brand identities. They like taking photos in Joshua Tree or Runyon Canyon or Echo Park. They don’t really care much about Carson or Alta Dena or Hermosa Beach or Vernon and the people that live there, and never will. Southern California has a terroir; if you are from here, you know exactly what I am talking about. I mean what it feels like the moment you are alone and driving at night on some Works-era wide street and no one is around. How eucalyptus trees smell through your car windows, even when you cannot see them. When rustling palms are sound loud outside your window it sounds like a cement mixer full of ticker tape. Exactly how far from the ocean you have to be, when, barometer like, you KNOW it’s close. The lines of sectors of aerospace and military industrial blocks and ex-orange groves and how they unfold. Part II: Southern Californian Music Culture: I was born in the town that gave the world Rickenbacker electric guitars, Magnatone amps, and JBL speakers. Two local teenagers (Barry and Bobby Rillera) and a visiting Angeleno R&B singer (Richard Berry) hatched “Louie Louie” one night playing a dance hall down the street from the hospital, long, long before I existed. I guess it’s only natural that my version of [Percy Bysshe] Shelley’s Ozymandias or “Pirate Jenny” unfolds over a minor I-IV stomp and makes allusion to a Garden Grove band (The Human Expression) in the second verse. We cut this song in Electro Vox, the footprint of Gold Star Studios, an archetypical Hollywood record row studio, built before things in rhythm and blues and rock and roll got large scale and glossy in record production. Like a carpenter’s cup, it is a simple but holy sound when a snare drum hits in that room. John Sinclair in 1966: “Don’t waste your time pissing and moaning about how shitty everything is. Start getting it together so you can change it. Everybody knows what a drag it is. You’re not telling anybody anything they can use. Exchange information. Get down. And when you have split, get your thing together so you’ll be able to have a better time than just sitting around smoking bogus dope, dropping bogus speed-filled acid, shooting smack, and listening to brainwash low-energy jams. Tripping out is a dead end and a drag. You always come down.” You could write this in 2019. Nick Waterhouse Artwork: Nick Waterhouse Tracklist: 01. By Heart 02. Song For Winners 03. Last week it was revealed that Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, the Oscar-winning composing duo who also happen to be members of Nine Inch Nails, penned the score for Netflix’s new horror film, Bird Box. An “abridged” 10-track version of the score, with a run time of 66 minutes, is now streaming in full below. It’s also available to purchase in high-resolution audio via Nine Inch Nails’ website. Additionally, “a more expansive (read: more self-indulgent) physical-only offering… that will contain an additional hour of music and artwork that colors further outside the lines” will be released in the spring. “Like all soundtrack records we release, we aim for these to play like albums that take you on a journey and can exist as companion pieces to the film and as their own separate works,” Reznor and Ross say of their latest score. We’ve created a significant amount of music and conceptual sound for Bird Box, a lot of which never made it to your ears in the final version of the film. We’ve decided to present you with this version of the soundtrack record that represents what Bird Box is to us. We hope you enjoy.” Bird Box Original Score Artwork: Bird Box Original Score Tracklist: 01. Outside 02. Undercurrents 03. Looking Forwards and Backwards 04. What Isn’t Anymore 05. Since November, Tekashi 6ix9ine has been sitting in a federal prison as he awaits his trial on federal racketeering charges. There’s been several rumors about the rapper’s well-being behind bars; 6ix9ine, an alleged member of the 9 Trey Gangsta Bloods, was reportedly confronted by inmates affiliated with the rival Crips gang and he was subsequently transferred to a different prison. All the while, his attorney has attempted to secure him bail, claiming that the rapper’s life is “being threatened.” Despite the behind-the-scenes drama, 6ix9ine was in good spirits when he was visited by his girlfriend Jade on Monday. Jade snapped a photo of the couple together, which marked the first image of 6ix9ine we’ve seen since he entered prison. “He’s good luv,” she wrote to caption the photo. Tekashi 6ix9ine’s federal trial is expected to begin in September 2019. If found guilty on the charges, he faces a minimum of 32 years to a maximum of life in prison. Source

Kevin Spacey pulled over for speeding following court hearing
News posted a topic in DJ Headquarters
On Monday, Kevin Spacey appeared in Massachusetts’ Nantucket District Court, where he was formally arraigned on charges of felony sexual assault. To add insult to injury, hours after the hearing Spacey was pulled over for speeding. According to TMZ, Spacey was stopped near Reagan National Airport in Washington, DC. Presumably, the actor was on his way back to Baltimore, where he has been hiding out in recent months. Police officers let Spacey off with a verbal warning, which was surely welcome news given the actor’s other legal woes. Spacey is charged with indecent assault and battery related to a July 2016 incident involving the 18-year-old son of former Boston WCVB-TV news anchor Heather Unruh. If convicted, Spacey could serve up to five years in prison and could also be required to register as a sex offender. Source -
The group behind the successful pill testing trial earlier this year at Groovin the Moo in Canberra who identified and disposed of two dangerous substances, say they can’t test pills around Australian until more state governments come on-board. Those two dangerous pills were part of 85 substances tested that ranged from “quite pure … high quality” ecstasy to Polish toothpaste, muscle rub and even spray paint but ultimately indicated where possible people would test and in this case dispose of dangerous pills. The STA-SAFE consortium who will soon rebrand to Pill Testing Australia in coming months is made up of health experts who are proposing a progressive stance when it comes to drug use at music festivals versus the currently overly expensive and highly policed enforcement that includes drug dogs that get it wrong 60-70% of the time and often end up arresting just 1% of attendance. STA-SAFE spokesperson Gino Vumbaca told the Sydney Morning Herald that since the trial a number of other promoters had been in contact about pill testing at their various festivals around Australia adding that “We’ve been getting calls from promoters all around the country wanting us to do pill testing, there’s been a change in momentum,” He reasons their want of pill testing by saying that “They do a hell of a lot of work in maintaining patron safety and protecting the health of patrons. While program like ours is not a silver bullet, it’s part of a suite of measures they’d like to have available. They know what we’re offering will reduce harm, it certainly won’t increase harm.” – see some of the things music festivals are already doing to keep you safe. Unfortunately while they can offer pill testing and music event and festival organisers are keen to see the possibility of the testing at their events they can’t do much in the way of government cooperation adding; “We can’t do much unless we have government cooperation. We’ve been encouraging governments interstate to contact the ACT government ministers and advisors, don’t take our word for it on how we operate and how effective it is, take their word for it,” This comes even with NSW Premiere Glady Berejiklian saying she’d be open to pill testing if she saw the evidence following a spate of drug related deaths at music festivals over the last five months. There is likely some good news this year with the ACT Government looking to approve the same application to have pill testing on-ground at Groovin The Moo Canberra in April that if goes ahead, will hopefully see inter-state counterparts join to see and understand the process. To date those in favour of pill testing include; Australian Medical Association Royal Australasian College of Physicians National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre Former Australian Federal Police Commissioner Mick Palmer ACT Chief Health Commissioner Dr Paul Kelly Independent MP Doctor Keryn Phelps NZ Police Commissioner Stuart Nash Music event and festival organisers The Greens European counterparts UK Festival organisers Majority of young people and live music patrons according to recent polls Those in Sydney can head to a rally next Saturday that looks to show that people do care about the ability to test their pills and make informed decisions when at music events and festivals. As a movie, Venom may not have been the most successful, feeling more in line with lazy superhero fare of the ’90s than the in depth epics to which Marvel Studios has made us accustomed. But as a product and a means to launch Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters, the thing was a $855.5 million worldwide mega-success. So it should come as no surprise that Sony is ready to move ahead with a sequel to the Tom Hardy vehicle. Variety reports that Sony has tapped Kelly Marcel, one of three screenwriters behind the first screenplay (and the only of the group not credited with the story), to pen the follow-up. The trade notes that the deal is a rather “significant one,” and includes an executive producer credit. Hardy is expected to return, as is co-star Michelle Williams. It’s also pretty safe to say that (spoiler warning) Woody Harrelson will take on the role of main antagonist Cletus Kasady, aka classic Spider-Man/Venom villain Carnage. Harrelson appeared in the role during the first film’s mid-credits stinger. Sources told Variety that Sony may be on the lookout for a new director, however, as Ruben Fleischer is wrapped up with Zombieland 2 — which, as it happens, also stars Harrelson. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Amy Pascal will all be back as producers. Source

Yeah Yeah Yeahs leader Karen O has remained fairly active on the solo circuit as of late. Last year, she shared “Yo! My Saint” for fashion house Kenzo, as well as “Lux Prima” from her forthcoming collaborative album with super producer Danger Mouse. Now, Ms. O is back with another new solo offering, a short but stirring acoustic track called “Anti-Lullaby”. The title is fitting considering its source: Amazon Prime’s new original series Hanna. Debuting in March, the show centers around a kidnapped baby, a harrowing, traumatic situation that Karen O captures all too disquietingly. “Do not sleep/ She waits for you to sleep,” she coos over stark guitar plucks. “My breath, you breathe/ It will carry you.” Chills. Take a listen below. “Anti-Lullaby” featured in the first teaser trailer for Hanna, which you can watch below. Source

We’re only a week into 2019, and it’s already feeling like a fresh start. A lot of our favorite artists are dropping new music, including Robokid, who’s just put out “17” on Moving Castle, along with the label’s founders, Manila Killa and AOBeats. The last time the co-founders of the label have all gotten together for a song was “Helix 2.0” in 2015 — a lot has changed since then. A lot has changed, but at the same time, a lot has stayed the same. “17” still has that classic Moving Castle sound that enamored fans when it first blew up, and it’s a lovely song all the same. The electronic pop track is the second song off Robokid’s upcoming EP, due out this spring. Listen below! This article was first published on Your EDM. Idris Elba caused quite the stir when his name popped up on the Coachella lineup last week, but little by little, people are coming to understand that he deserves to be on it. Like other celebrities who’ve turned to DJing in their spare time, Elba didn’t just decide to do it on a whim. In fact, he’s been DJing since before he was acting! “I know, I know. I’ve been catching some heat,” he told ET’s Kevin Frazier on the Golden Globes red carpet while discussing his upcoming DJing gig at Coachella. “‘Oh, he’s a DJ now?’ But I’ve been a DJ since I was 14, but Coachella is, like, a lifetime dream for any DJ. I’m so excited! I can’t wait. I can’t wait.” Aside from playing Coachella and making his Netflix debut as a struggling DJ on “Turn Up Charlie,” Elba is also starring in a big-screen remake of Cats with Taylor Swift. A prime example of a remake no one asked for, Elba is adamant that it will surprise people. He also spoke about the possibility of working with Swift outside of the movie studio and in the music studio. “This year’s been amazing, because I get to play and make music a lot more,” he said to Access‘ Scott Evans, “and I’m hoping that…I might get Taylor and I to do a song. I mean, that would be great.” It’s almost too much star power to think about! This article was first published on Your EDM. Australian music producer and all-around nice guy Flume has confirmed he’ll be releasing new music in 2019 after a lengthy two-year hiatus since the release of his ‘Skin Companion’ EPs as well as his highly lauded sophomore album ‘Skin’ which even took out a Grammy for ‘Best Dance/Electronic’ album. The news of new music from Flume was teased through the his instagram in which a short and friendly messaged was shared along with a fun holiday snap taken in the Byron Hinterlands; “Cheers 2018. Next year I’ll be back in your life, I promise” We know Flume has been posted up in LA for the good part of his break so hopefully he’s been bunkered down in the studio with some talented friend around the world. With such a powerful discography under his belt and his last hurrah taking out Triple J’s Hottest 100 it’ll be interesting to see if Flume stays true to his sound or steps out in the unknown for new music this year!
