The Yamahas will definitely be the best out of those three.
-
3 is the fucking worst, and even worse is when it's at a club and nobody else seems to notice the massive clipping and distortion
-
think @OxyKon should have the tracklist in the history thing in traktor if @Cupe doesnt have it, should be able to just upload that file and it'll have the track names in order in there

Listened to this earlier, makes up for the lack of house/techno things at meat

Which 4 Channel Controller for me - Digital & Vinyl mixing...
Scottie replied to MarkSHickman's topic in Mixers & Controllers
I'd recommend a Traktor S4 mk2 - it allows for 2 input channels so you could use two turntables + the two controller decks if you wanted to. If you've got the cash and are maybe looking to be using a normal club setup in the future (2+ CDJ's and a DJM mixer), the high end Pioneer DDJ controllers are definitely worth a look - you're not going to be able to find better controllers out there. -
Will get one done at the meat

@tommykesh listening now. productivity increased by 100%

Beginner question, Jukebox - DJ
Scottie replied to JohnnyHotPockets's topic in Beginner DJ Tips & Tricks
When you say songs requested, you mean people say "hey play this tune" or they're coming up to you with their phone and saying "hey play this song on my phone"? Either way, in that sort of budget you're gonna be looking at used CDJs - 350s if you want to be able to use USBs, 800s/1000s if you're okay without. I would definitely go with the CDJ 350s though, even if the older gear is better quality it'd be a huge pain to not be able to just use USBs in 2016. Alternatively, if you're okay with using a laptop + controller (which IMO is the better solution for a mobile DJ), there's a lot more variety and you can get some very good gear. Traktor S2 or S4 mk2, most of pioneer's low-mid range stuff. If you go used there, there's a lot of really good deals to be had -

I understand what you mean here, I would say to not take the wedding gig when you're not totally committed to it and confident in your abilities. Getting pushed into doing a gig for friends of friends who probably just want to save money on a proper DJ with equipment isn't a good way to start out IMO. If you do go ahead and take it, you need to make sure they know they're getting someone who's just started out mixing, and that you know that people might still give you shit even if you're putting in 100% effort. To answer your questions, yes it is possible to beat mix anything - the problem is that because actual people are drumming and not a drum machine, the BPM will change throughout the song which makes it quite difficult. This video should explain a bit: For your second question, I believe Virtual DJ has an automatic crossfade that you can adjust. Maybe if you could rig it up so that input 1 (like a CDJ, or a turntable, or anything) goes into channel A on the mixer, then channel A output goes to an input on a soundcard which Virtual DJ could use? And repeat the process for the 2nd channel. This would give you the ability to still use the EQs on the mixer and the volume faders, and if you wanted to crossfade using the mixer you'd just set the virtual crossfader in the middle. Of course, that's assuming that that sort of setup would even work - it's been a while since I've used VDJ. -
Heard really good things about those re: bass

bump this sounds like a good idea

Beginner, need some controller advice
Scottie replied to kashida's topic in Beginner DJ Tips & Tricks
If you're just starting out, I would recommend used gear at a decent price - gives you the freedom to muck about on it for a while, and if you decide it's not your thing, you can resell without losing much if anything. The SB would be a pretty good bit of kit for about that price, has all the basics + a few bells and whistles to get you going as a beginner -
hd 25s or the xone 53s are still kings
-
for about $500 you're looking at krk rokit 5's, yamaha hs5's or jbl lsr305s (5" versions of the ones dflux has). Think a couple people on here have the yam's, probably the flattest and best for production if you get them set up right

DDJ-T1 for meat things (and maybe more)
