The only thing I like better about VDJ is how you view your folder structure and how much easier it is to set up. Other than that, doesn't make a difference to me cause I don't use samples/loops/fx all that much.

ODAC sells for $150, and is the cleanest possible sound you can get from a dac.

Krk kns-8400's are pretty good too. Not too sure about the d2000's as they have a lot of emphasis on the low end.

For producing you want something with the flattest response you can get. Sony mdr-v6's or mdr-7506's are pretty good and reasonably priced. Or if money really doesn't matter you could get some audeze LCD-3's and a powerful amp

I have an E17 lying around somewhere, pretty good for $140 but when I've got everything else set up I'll probably get an oDAC + o2 amp combo and then have all the audio quality things
