  3. "Similar to suggest, Explore is based on our new search infrastructure, but with a twist: our main goal for Explore is to showcase the sounds in our community at this very moment. This led to a time-sensitive ranking, putting more emphasis on the newness of a sound." - http://backstage.soundcloud.com/2012/12 ... xperience/
  4. Something to do with the original patents ending. They can't really do anything about it now, so all these new TT's being made in one factory in china are based on the old aesthetics but have much more modern internals
  5. because they have $$$
  6. Not sure how handy this is but wotevs
  7. ^ If you're wanting to play in clubs and shit, CDJ's would be a good option as they're standard. But if you only want to do house parties and bedroom mixing, you should just stick with what you're comfortable with. Better gear won't make you a better DJ, there's no point in buying the highest end gear with all the bells and whistles when you won't take advantage of that functionality.
  8. he's more than a bot to me <3

  15. Take a reasonable guess and it probably happened
  16. Seems like you do need a first party interface - although there's no reason for it because with a cracked copy 3rd party interfaces work fine with timecode enabled.
  17. What you need is the traktor branded timecode vinyl. The entire thing is just a 2KHz buzz, which when the traktor software hears (assuming you've set up your audio inputs/outputs correctly) it recognises it as being a timecode input through technological wizardry. Ideally you're going to want an interface that connects via usb that has at least 2 rca inputs and 2 rca outputs, which would be having the tunes from traktor running into your mixer
  18. soldios even if he wasnt trying to be funny, so many lols
  19. Ysm mostly always dere when im dere
  20. cupe keeping shit in check, running radio, improving the site. all the things
  21. Throwing this on here before I put it on eBay or something. Originally bought from Japan, comes with dust cover, a slipmat and I'll throw in a power transformer. Very good condition, a few scuff marks on the cover but nothing noticeable on the turntable itself. Looking for $700 o.n.o, pickup only unless you want to risk postage.
  22. Eat your heart out, Traktor. Take that, CDJs. The dream of the 90s is alive, again, with new Amiga software. Akira Kei shares the project, which he and hoffman co-created and have dubbed the PT-1210 MK1. It mimics some CDJ-style features, but uses MOD files – a clever music format that employs samples and sequence data for truly portable, interactive music. This isn’t just a nerdy hack. It’s actually a full-blown DJ tool that could make its way through a party – provided that party’s musical tastes trended slightly retro. And since it runs on stock Amiga machines, you might pay more to have a service person even look at your MacBook Pro than this entire rig will cost. Watch: Features: [*]Channel mute [*]Extensive loop options [*]“Reloop FX” – setting loop points inside the pattern [*]Slip mode – playhead continues even as the music loops [*]Pitch bend [*]Time stretching [*]Forward/rewind advance through patterns So, where can you find the software? It’ll be free, in demoscene spirit. And you should keep your demoscene calendar open. “We hope to release in March at the Revision 2014 demoparty,” says Akira, “but we’ll have a demo 14-16 Feb. in Datastorm 2014 in Sweden.” Of course, for those not able to make those parties, we may have to do a little how-to for Amiga users. If Traktor or Ableton Live added MOD support, I would… be very entertained. And, not to get in the way of the retro stylings here, but I’d love to see this running on Android / iOS. (Those platforms do already have some nice MOD players.) But of course, you won’t get nearly the cred if you show up with a couple of iPads as you will with a couple of Amigas. Akira notes: Original Article: http://createdigitalmusic.com/2013/12/a ... ze-friends . Check it out, couple of recorded video mixes using this at the end of the piece.
