  1. you know what guys? after chattin with some friends yesterday and asking people around, checking stores and talking to some experts,i've decided to go "puck it" and buy my self a pair of 900s. yeah it'll take longer but i'm only 16 right? how many shows will i get in the next two years? *sigh* bette ask for more shifts at mcdonalds... http://www.djwarehouse.com.au/specials/ ... jm700.html probably the best deal since i'm getting all that good stuff
  2. yeah, i saw that, pre cool. i think i found the same product for a bit less though
  3. I agree with you completely BUT i'd practice on CDJs first because off CDs. If i had a chance, i would. buy turntables but then i'd have to buy records and they aren't cheap. i saw a record that was like $100. If i buy CDJs first not only i can a) hone my DJ-ing skills and practice some scratching aswell but also I'd save money. Like i said, i'm only 16 and i don't have a lot off money on me. plus, as i said, my friend owns a pair of turnies (as he likes to call them) and i can practice off them aswell. i can also probably get a "friendly" discount if he wants to get rid off them someday. also, scratching is just something i'm putting aside. something i'll use if i wanna make my sets abit interesting or for showing off to my friends. not planning on doing it profesionally... yet and wouldn't it be easier to move my equipment around when i get hired?
  4. Alright sweet, deffinitely gunna sniff around for a bit. thanks all
  5. wow, i read online that the any model above the CDJ 400 scratches, i thought wrong then. the biggest problem with buying used from ebay: pickup only. i just saw a pair of 400s that's for sale for like $800 i live in WA :'(
  6. I know that it's better to scratch with vinyl but I'm just starting out and as I said, i'm gunna practice with CDJs then I'm gonna buy some turntables and hone my skills there. i have a friend who owns scratches with vinyls so he can probably teach me aswell. and i thought the 350s couldn't scratch?
  7. Well if i want a pair off CDJs I'd probably want ones that are scratch capable so i can practice my turntablism Haha, yeah i know. That's why i said i hated marketing
  8. Halew guys, i need some help. I've decided to buy a pair off CDJs but i'm stuck between two. Now my level of DJ-ing like good but not that good. So i guess i'm an Intermediate DJ. Also, i'm only 16 so i don't have a high budget. probably around $2000. So my first choice is a Pioneer CDJ 400 Pack. It costs around $1600. Comes with 2xCDJ 400 (Derr) and a DJM 400 mixer. My other choice is the Denon DN-S3700 pack which costs like $1800. It comes with the CD Players and a behringer DDM 4000. The DNS is pretty cool though. the platter spins so it feels like vinyl. But having Pioneer can really help me get places. Think about it. if you have nike shoes, you're the best. But if you have generic brand shoes, you're poor. I hate marketing.
  9. yes lol Hahahahaha i will call him condom-guy. If there was a war, I wouldlike to be on his side because he know's how to play it safely
  10. Simple really, there's this app i bought on the app store called "Djay" and it's really cool. Alot off great effects and it can literally replace $5182 worth off equipment. If you have an iPad (which I do. Only it's my mom's) you're probably making better use off it. bigger screen and whatnot. The only downside to this app is that you can't really precue with your headphones. you have to have 500 different cables and it's a pain in the ass and i hate it. but i managed to master beatmatching without headphones so yeah. here's a sample off my mixing skills with only an ipod touch. the other videos on this chanel are my friend's and they're really shit so don't bother listening to them. really cool app. probably better than the DJ2Go by Numark question: is this guy wearing a condom? Welcome If I was you, id have a look at the mixtrack pro if your going to go digital, quite a nice little solid unit nah, i'm not into controllers. they feel plasticy and i dont wanna spend more money on a second computer that i'm not even gunna use that much (i'm using a desktop atm) I'm actually looking at CD Players. One that really caught my eye is the Denon DN-S 3700. Really great lookin piece off equipment.

  12. Hello there. I came here because I'm not very experienced when it comes to equipment. I'm also a beginner-ish. Yeah, I've DJ-ed before but that was when I was like 8 (Brother's friend taught me everything I knew). Now, I'm 15 and I only practice with my ipod... for now. I'm thinking off buying some equipment and will probably make another post about it somewhere else. But you know? i'm pretty experienced, and if you can ask me to DJ a party, I could do it. I'm also a music producer but not a really good one. Just need to learn different ways off making my songs less repetitive and more dancable. Any tips would be appreciated
