Check this video out: now i buy my tunes online but will this still affect me? uploading mixes to youtube, soundcloud, etc. what aboot remixes?
-
should i advertise with some examples off my mixes? they'll be short (10mins). also, for cable management/cheating, there was a video i saw on yt where the dj made booth with pvc pipes so that means it's ultra portable. then she could just hide the cables and stuff behind the booth
-
So what was the first genre you learnt to beatmatch on??

hipity hopity, my bro's buddy got me into it. showed some good techniques aswell -
fl studio and garageband whenever i borrow my friend's mac. actually, i make the best songs using garageband. people say it's an ameture program but I like it. very simple and gets the job done for me. i'll probably upload some examples off my garageband skills soon

these are all great tips, but my main problem is, i have inspiration (usually in the shower ), the software but i don't know how to make it sound.... good. i know what instruments match what instruments but sometimes my songs feel empty.i don't know how to explain uhm, check this link and you'll probably understand: http://www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DZ-9b ... Yeah what optticon said about ellaskins. You could teach yourself through youtube or if you have a friend, you could ask him/her for help.

there's one in Northbridge. DJ Acedemy. I don't remember the street but it's near the place with the really big screen

herro there everyone, I'm very interested. How does one make electronic music? How do great electronic artists get their inspiration? How do they make songs and such. I tried looking for videos or articles with my favourite artists but they don't give me enough info. I'm not trying to copy the copyright I'm just really interested how they make songs. Any producers out there who can give tips for a beginner? and where does one get their inspiration? Tutorials, tips, trickswould be helpful

well how big should my speakers be though? for small house parties i mean
-
about $1000 i guess, as in for two speakers. not per speakers. so i guess $500 per speakers.
-
like uhm, speakers for parties and stuff. say i get hired for house parties, are studios monitors good enough?
-
i mean for live shows
-
I don't know if these forums are made yet but I'd like to know some main specs when looking for some speakers. Active, passive or powered like, there are so many to choose from. I know they should be powered but what's the difference Active or Powered? also a friend told me they should be 15" to probide ebough sound but I read a thread where two 12"s and a sub would sound better. what are some great links and websites? shanks

it'll take months maybe even years but with enough encouragement, love and belief, your synth will start to walk and even "go" but in all seriousness, whadaya mean go?
-
really? it's not that hard for me, as long as both the lights match. sure i will have minor mistakes but nothing a little pitchbend won't fix
-
it's actually easy really, i have two methods: i cue up all my songs to where the beat starts and press cue whenever i'm ready to mix the songs. OR if i didn't cue in advance i slowly move the platter and keep and eye on the mixer. when the equaliser lights up, that means that's where the somg starts. then i just press play. keeping an eye on the eq, you can see the light goes up. just match the lights from chanel 1 and chanel 2 and there you go. mixing without headphones. ideally, i'll put the song in cue on an 8 bar loop so that i have more time to fix it.

wow a lot off interesting stories here if i was to say my very first equipment was the DJ2GO by Numark commected to my laptop with really cheap generic Dick Smith headphones . costed about $200 altogether. it's really shit. first gig was at year end school disco with my iPad.
-
Since I'm a new DJ, I'm really interested. What was the very first equipment you owned. It should be th name of TTs (or CDJ), the mixer and the headphones. And how much did it cost you and how old were you when you bought it, when was your first gig and last but not least, was it worth it. Just a little curious also if you can put in what got you into DJ-ing.
-
haha, wow. actually, that gives me an idea.... owh depression haha nah, you gutta make money. i'll just pray nobody buys it then
-
alright sweet, try to hold on to that for the next two months. I have to get the money first then i'll contact you later. god i hate working at maccas. but all for the sake of being a DJ right?
-
Challenge accepted Well... I dont have the money on me right now. can i have it for $500? (herr derr) but in all seriousness, i can buy yours for $1550 if you can bring it to my place. also, do i get the road case?
-
sorta thought aboot that. haha, i'm wondering how the loop functions works on this. and also, just one more question: http://www.djwarehouse.com.au/specials/ ... jm350.html I saw a similar pack at storeDJ but it says "includes rca cables". Does that mean djwarehouse's doesn't include cables? I'm so confused. dumb question yeah but just wondering..
-
well now that you put it that way, i'll think i will buy myself the 350s. alright fine, my decision is final the 350s win. i will buy them
-
argh! so many opinions, so many decisions why can't there just be one alpha CDJ where not only is it affordable but works as well as all the other cd players out there? oh yeah, they have the same marketing stratergy as apple WHOOPS DID I JUST SAY THAT OUT LOUD?! Well as i said, i'm probaly not gonna have alot of shows in the next 2 years (unless i decide i want to start a rave at my school, with my teachers permission off course). So i have two years to decide really. but as the salesman told me the other day: if you wanna get in the business fast, buy the cheaper models but if you think you're gunna get far in your career, buy the pro models
