  1. +1 for TAL stuff. I use their plugins and it's pretty great. Also cheers Labrat for recommending Noisemaker, I had it on my hard drive but never bothered to use it until recently I want to add one plugin that I think deserves a lot of love because of how good it sounds. "MULTIPLY" by Acon Digital https://acondigital.com/products/multiply/ This is probably the best freeware chorus plugin I've used, ever. It's very versatile, allowing you control all the little elements of it, including an inbuilt eq to shape how you want the wet signal to sound and up to 6 voices. Honestly though, the best part about this plugin is that the software was designed in such a way in which there is very little to no comb filtering at all, meaning that this is the cleanest sounding chorus I've ever used. It's really cool and it's free, so honestly, just check it out!
  2. Hmm, I could totally do that. I could like sit down, talk about music and analyse them. Maybe it'll be interesting to someone! How would I get into setting this up? Yeah, I was reading off a script. I try to read my lines in a way that sounds natural, because that's how you expect people to talk in real life. It also had to do with how I wrote the script, I wrote in a way that would be horrible to read in your head but it sounds really natural when you read it out loud haha. So I'm glad you found that it sounds natural!
  3. Saw this video today, thought it'd be worth a share. I'm way interested in video games and music stuff so this seemed pretty cool. Even though one could easily do this with software and synths that have PWM capabilities, the novelty in making music straight from the real hardware seems really cool! It's worth a watch so check its! Interestingly enough, it seems that the GB soundchip seems more versatile (imo) than the Nintendo Entertainment System's soundchip, since it can actually generate waveforms like triangles and sawtooths, as opposed to the NES only being able to generate triangle waveforms (although the GB can't use PCM samples like the NES). Plus, it the GB was in stereo too, as opposed to the NES which only outputs in mono.
  4. Thanks guys, I'm a little bit rusty in DJing though. Haven't done it in a while and worried it might sound lame haha!
  5. Bahaha, thanks man! Maybe I should try to join a radio show when I'm free from college. Thanks man! Really appreciate to kind words. Yeah, I did want to play the songs I talk about in the video but there are issues with Youtube and copyrighted material. It's an ongoing issue really and there are channels that got taken down because of it. I'm gonna do a little homework and see what i can and can't do. Yeah, I'll try to see what I can and can't do :/ Agreed, it's pretty great!
  6. Hey everyone, I made a video where I shared and talked about music that I loved for like 20 minutes. I want to make more videos like these and I'm hoping I could get some comments/feedback about this video about what you guys think. Anything you think that I could improve upon, from the presentation, to the writing, to my voice, please say so! I'll appreciate it a lot! Also, please tell me if the video was interesting enough to keep watching/listening all the way through. Cheers guys!
  7. This song is so feel good haha
  8. Welcome man!
  9. Thanks man! Yeah, I'm pretty proud of how nice that synths sounds haha
  10. Hey everyone! Uploaded a new tune called "Wander Mars"! It's a mix of old school Hip Hop beats with space age sounding synths. Tell me what you guys think Also, tell me if the video looks alright. I was playing around with dust footage I found online and used it in this.
  11. I don't know if I could point it out specifically tbh haha. It's more of how the song sounds overall to me. Like sonically, it sounds closer to club/banger type tracks. Perhaps you could listen to music closer to what you made and listen to how they sound and try to replicate those sounds.
  12. This was pretty nice, the vocals are really swell and the bass is cool! I also really like the way the sax sounds. Overall vibes are really really chill. I dig it man If I could give one criticism though is that it's a bit too exciting. I can hear you using your bounce production methods on this track. Imo, songs like these need more subtleties and the production that's a bit more conserved and laid back.
  13. ^Looks rad af dude! Haven't been in this thread for a while. Forgot how satisfying it was to scroll through here
  14. It's incredibly rad, too bad they're rare af and everything I've seen on eBay are like broken and stuff :c I've come across a few 3" CDs but they were like promos and stuff, never singles. The only 3" CD that I could probably get my hand on these days are Gamecube disc, and those are just games, not singles haha.
  15. Saw this video on my suggestions and I thought it looked silly. Then I watched the video and thought the device in action looked so cool when you play standard 12cm CDs on it. Would love to get my hands on one of this haha. Thought it'd be a fun little watch
  16. This would be an interesting watch. I bought his second album "Donuts" a while ago and I love it. The way he chops the samples up and completely transforms some songs is pretty wild.
  17. This is pretty awesome dude!
  18. I'm not sure if a podcast would be interesting enough format though Awesome dude, sounds good!
  19. Glad you guys dig this idea! I honestly though people won't be on board for this. Thanks man! I like the latter idea. It'd seem like an interesting video to watch over a lunch break haha. The former though, I'm not sure how I'd go with that. Maybe I could talk about the issue oof piracy in music, though it may end up sounding preachy. Hey man, if you ever wanna do a video like this together, we totally could! Send me a PM if you want Unfortunately, I don't have any "real" experience with DJing. I've only done mobile gigs for private functions. I've never even been to a club haha
  20. Hey, everyone! I wanna start making videos on Youtube that will discuss topics related to music in a smart and interesting way. Not like music theory or tutorials and stuff but more like essays related to music but in video form. I already watch this sort of content but most of it's related to gaming and stuff, and I don't think there's a lot of channels on Youtube that actually talks about music in a deeper way. I love those kinds of videos and I think it'd be interesting to make videos in that fashion. Yeah, there's channels on Youtube related to music (original artists, parody music, music reviews, etc) but none that really talks music in depth. As an example, I already made a video in this sort of style. Check it out and you can get an idea of what I mean: (PS. pls give critique about the formatting or issues you might have with this video) Another video that talks about music in a similar vein is Mark Ronson's Ted Talks and his topic about sampling: I have a few ideas in mind right now but I'd also like some suggestion from you guys for topics to talk about I only have three ideas so far and those ideas are: 1) Why do we hate pop music? - I discuss pop music and everything that's right and wrong with it. Not the most original topic but I'll try to be as in depth as possible. 2) Why Spotify sucks if you love music - I talk about why Spotify (and other similar services) is decreasing the value of music with more people looking at music as a commodity instead of this important piece of media. (Note: I don't hate Spotify, lol) 3) A List 7 Uplifting Songs - I provided a very personal and in-depth list of 7 songs that I find helps me lift my spirits. Those are the ideas I have so far, any suggestions would be helpful! Also, tell me if this is a good idea or not, I don't want to waste my time making videos that aren't interesting to anyone. Cheers
  21. Feed Me - Silicon Lube
  22. Yeah man, it was actually more helpful than I thought it would be. Hahaha, people have asked me to read things out loud for them
  23. Well, I was asking for that hahah Thanks man! Maybe I'd do more in the future if I need a creativity boost haha
  24. Here's my little video. Cheated a little bit D: Think it turned out better than expected!
  25. Nice vid, man! Actually tried to make mine yesterday but there were too many technical issues D: Will try to upload by next week
