  1. All genre/crowd/venue relevant. Some genres and clubs need the variety and higher energy of smaller sets for say electro etc Trance, minimal, techno etc etc more journey based genres are better suited to at least two hours. Anything under an hour for any genre is just a number pulling based joke.
  2. Fuck off will.iam you dickhead.
  3. Will def check it out once my internet resets dude!
  4. haha so true
  5. Yeah thats how i class it as well. They should just call it club or something. Whatever happened to just 'dance music'
  6. In an ideal world the commercial rubbish wouldn't cross over into decent scenes but sadly it does. Electro and house scenes are suffering a fair bit due to it. It's not even the EDM thing, even with hip hop beforehand, the majority of commercial artists stopped taking risks and instead made safe music enuring an never ending cycle of stale music.
  7. So good.
  8. I dont know it could be around for alot longer than we all think. Rock had a long turn at the top of commercial music and then rnb/hip hop did.
  9. I really wish beatport would just have the correct keys, they should make it necessary to sell a song on there. If i can be fuarked will compare MIK and RB this week.
  10. I more or less agree, but not talking about one hit wonders here. I mean established, big names who could never produce another track in their life and still play gigs all over the world.
  11. its not people won't appreciate key, its just the fact your mixing will sound better. But as you mentioned majority of crowds you could trainwreck every mix and they wouldn't know the difference.
  12. What do people think about established producers using ghost producers because they are too busy to produce? Armin van buuren was a recent one to do this.
  13. Depends on the genre and how you mix. I really notice it now when djs dont mix harmonically, it really helps for when you are mashing up tracks or mixing electro etc quite fast. As others have said though it can limit your set somewhat, remember you can go 1 or 2 camelot points and still be a harmonic mix.
  14. lol nice edit MIK 5 has been out for awhile now, would also like the other new programs include, so i would like a fair bit newer, cheers.
  15. Yeah that's it, i think in the spectrum of this discussion it's more your Aoki's who get all their stuff ghost produced that is the problem.
  16. I call them all lowest denominator music, genres irrelevant as that is completely subjective. TBH i hate the Aria charts as it features too much track pushing from friends of the aria djs, who push tracks into the charts that aren't actually played that much in clubs.
  17. Link up who is supposedly using RB key detection then Mitch seriously havn't herd much about it at all, and i am forever lurking the RB forums. Also MIK does put them into camelot format not sure why you said it doesn't. End of the day i would be skeptical to use RB detection until further testing and comparison is done. Would love to see a new comparison featuring Traktor, RB, MIK etc, as most of the other graphs and tests including Mitch's are pretty old.
  18. Have no problem with good producers ghost producing commercial tracks so they can silk some money from the shitty scene. As for actual producer artists having their work ghost produced, they can go suck a phat one, they are cheating themselves and their fans.
  19. If you call the commercial end of deep house 'good'.
  20. We recently discovered that Beatport's key analysis is not provided by artists or labels, they infact have their own detection software which doesn't seem to be that accurate. Rekordbox key detection is so far pretty untested and an unknown quantity. Havn't herd of anyone using it or big names supporting it, would highly recommend Mixed in key which is by par the most popular key detection software, a few guys on here including myself use it and plenty of big names using it.
  21. Yeah primarily electro, bit of prog (if you can call it that) and some deep (if you can call it that). The dumont and disclosure tracks are really stinking out the mix though, complete change of sound and energy.
  22. Just go off the screenshot lol, less hassles.
  23. Just went off what the top 10 was when we started the comp.
  24. Yeah no chance at that price.
  25. The amount of pitch movement required to change the bpm of a track eg 0.8, 1.6 etc doesnt change with the pitch range settings, it just changes how small the increments of change are. I personally prefer +/- 6 as it gives you a little more accuracy when playing around. The bpm readers arent amazingly accurate tbh, 9/10 times my pitch will be 0.78, 0.82 etc 0.8 will you close yes but not perfect. Also remember if you go higher in bpms the amount of pitch required to change a bpm becomes less. For example at 140ish its like 0.70 instead of 0.80 per bpm. These are good to give you a rough guide then the rest is by ear.
